n the heart of the Loire Valley, along the Thouet River: a 700 square foot converted barn (newly renovated) with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The house is ideally-situated in the heart of the Anjou wine region, a few miles from Saumur (well-known for it's castle and the French National Horse-Riding School, ''Le Cadre Noir'', wine growers, and troglodytes sites). Also nearby: important castles in Angers, Chinon, Montreuil-Bellay, Brézé, as well as Europe's largest monastic center, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, which features an excellent music and cultural program. Other worthwhile day trips include the exquisite Loire Valley castles, such as: Chambord, Blois, Cheverny, Azay le Rideau, etc. The house, which is about 187 miles from Paris (300 km), or about 2 hours by TGV, can accomodate two couples with children (sleeps six altogether). The appartement includes : an entrance hall, a large sitting and dining room with a small equiped kitchen, one bedroom, a bathroom, and a small bedroom on a mezzanine level.

Welcome to the Gîte de l'Écuyer. This detached house is in a very beautiful setting in the heart of the village, with its own private garden. Forest walks from your cottage. Discover land art, the botanical trail of about 30 minutes, hikes of 1 to 4 hours or more with the GR at the foot of the castle. Dining at the Marson cellars, a delicious troglodyte restaurant in Fouées (1 minute walk). Visit to the Cadre Noir in 5 minutes. 10 minutes from the Loire, Saumur and its many tourist sites.

Full of character and charm, thick local limestone walls keep the house cool in summer yet cosy during colder, truffle-hunting months. The covered terrace is perfect for alfresco dining. Charming atypical house. Ideally located in the wine-growing commune of Ulmes, very close to Saumur and Doué la Fontaine. House equipped to accommodate families with kids. The ideal location of the accommodation allows you to visit the Châteaux de la Loire, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, the Cadre Noir, the troglodytes, the Bioparc (zoo) of Doué-la-Fontaine, hot air balloon ride, bike ride along the Loire, about 1 hour from the Puy du Fou and the Futuroscope.

You'll love my place for its location and atmosphere. It is an old house made of tuffeau stone located in the heart of a troglodyte courtyard. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and 2 air-conditioned bedrooms upstairs. It also has an outdoor courtyard with a terrace (barbecue, garden furniture). My accommodation is perfect for couples, solo travellers, business travellers, families (with children) and four-legged friends.
