Cumfrey Yurt at Fairy Bell Wood

RachaelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Lovely location for a quiet weekend.! Conveniently close to Kendal for shops. The only negative is that the compost toilet does smell a bit, but without use of chemicals, it’s unavoidable - and I do appreciate how eco friendly the yurt is. Amenities were great and surroundings were perfect. Plenty of provisions for fires and outdoor cooking, which I loved!

Me and my partner really enjoyed our time in the yurt. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The staff in the shop/ reception were excellent for local tips on what to do and where to go. I would definitely return.

Little yurt

AbbigailRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The yurt was cosy, clean and in a lovely location next to a little stream. There's a bbq area, and all around the yurt is pretty fairy lights. The local pub is in walking distance and does tasty food. Also 15 minutes from Scaffel Pike which was ideal. Claire is fab, responds really quickly to any queries, always helpful, and even got the Easter Bunnny to drop us a couple of cream eggs in! Amenities are sufficient too with a bathroom and a shower, and a utility room including a microwave, toaster, kettle, electric hob, and pots and pans. Would recommend, only advice would be if you're a light sleeper to take ear plugs, the noises are nature and we slept great but not everyone would be the same.

"Wych Elm" Deluxe Yurt at Marthrown of Mabie

VictoriaRating, 5 stars14 months ago
We were very excited to stay in a yurt and weren’t disappointed. The reviews which mention the warmth inside aren’t wrong; it is very toasty. We arrived in torrential rain so it felt like we were driving to the middle of nowhere but we found it with Mike’s instructions. He was there to greet us and go through the fire and where everything is. We had 4 beds and 1 bed is pulled out from underneath a single bed - that’s not what we were expecting but it didn’t matter. They’re comfy and clean. There is a lot provided in terms of cutlery, pans and tea/coffee. Everything you need is listed by Pam once you book. We had the hot tub booked but it broke the day before we arrived with the frost. We were gutted but still got to use the sauna. I’d recommend that just to experience the cold water bucket outside. Just do it. The shower is really hot and a nice experience over looking the hills. The composting toilet is a composting toilet…get used to is. There are lots of nearby walks to explore.

A cosy warm wilderness yurt

NicoleRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We stayed at the Yurt at the start of Jan and it was a perfect getaway. The log fire was on when we arrived with spare wood waiting. There were plenty of blankets and it was very cosy at night. We got chance to see the milky way right over the yurt and tried the local pubs (most about a 20 minute drive away). Due to the temperature the pipes were frozen and we were unable to try the bath but it’s not something the host could have changed - just unfortunate timing. The hot showers in the main entrance were well needed and I’d recommend taking a hot water bottle or two for night time. The Yurt was a little dark but the fairy lights were lovely and it was very welcoming. To get down to the yurt you put your luggage in wheelbarrows as it’s a 5 or so minute walk over a field and down a hill so just be prepared to have to work a little before being able to relax. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Cherish Glamping Lapwing Yurt

SophieRating, 5 stars31 months ago
The pictures of this place just don’t do it justice. It is so serene and even though there are other yurts about, it feels like you’re there alone. There are gorgeous places to walk and the food is unbelievable. The little bits left in the yurt are a beautiful touch and they are all from nearby (milk and butter from the local creamery, bread baked at the local bakery)! The yurt warms up quickly with the fire and it’s just such a homely experience. The shower is surprisingly hot! We were expecting luxury but not to this extent. There were deck chairs to borrow should the logs start hurting your bum. There are beautiful waterfalls nearby but even if you don’t fancy venturing out you’re not going to be disappointed by the beauty of this place. I have recommended it to everyone I have spoken to since our return and we will be back!

Cherish Glamping Oystercatcher Yurt

MatthewRating, 5 stars43 months ago
We really enjoyed our stay in the yurt, it is just as described. The hot tub and private bathroom are a luxury and the yurt was clean and very comfortable. Jo and Steve are helpful with recommendations for local walks and pubs, and their optional evening meals which we opted in for were delicious and delivered to your yurt. Complimentary breakfast was a super touch! Had a great stay and would definitely return
