Family-friendly holiday rentals in Dikwella

We stayed at Madampe for Christmas, it was one of the best stays for all of us. The villa is prettier and bigger that in the pictures, pool was clean all the time, very beautiful trees and flowers. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and attentive, they also cooked us amazing dishes for a very good price. It was very peaceful and homey, the beach is literally 5 minute walk from villa and we saw the most amazing sunsets. One thing I would suggest is that if you’re planning to visit Madampe house make sure to bring mosquito repellant spray. Other than that everything was beyond our expectations!

It is impossible to sum up just how welcome we were made to feel from the minute we arrived until departure. The villa was beautiful and the pool exquisite- large to relax and swim and spotlessly clean . The inside exactly as described. But the experience was made special due to the wonderful staff, Gihan and his team, who could not do more to make the stay so special. Beautiful breakfasts showcasing Sri Lankan specialities and home cooked food for dinner if wanted for a reasonable cost. He also drove willingly to nearby Hikkaduwa so able to eat out on as many nights as one wanted. However they also respected guests desire for privacy - a difficult balance to achieve. They went above and beyond anything we might have hoped for. The villa is a little remote but one knows that before booking and the tranquility more than made up for the inability to walk to restaurants. I would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic 10-day break at this beautiful villa. The setting is amazing, overlooking the infinity of the Indian Ocean, with the calming sound of the crashing waves. The sea was too rough for a swim but the beach was perfect for a walk. The garden is lovely, the pool is a welcome escape from the heat and the house itself is spacious enough for everyone not to be in each other's way. We had so much fun during our stay - massages in the garden, wandering the neighbourhood and meeting the locals, visiting nearby beaches (Dickwella beach was our favourite, especially with young kids), safari, releasing baby turtles in the sea, boat trips, etc.... Last but certainly not least - the lovely staff. The hospitality offered by Suneetha, Ajith and Ari was truly special. They are all lovely and looked after us so well. Apart from the delicious food they prepared daily, they arranged our trips, transport, etc. It was hard to leave and tears were shed at the end. We'll be back, for sure!

The Villa is stunning, even more beautiful than the pictures! The outlook from poolside was beautiful, we watched the monkeys playing in the trees while enjoying a lovely breakfast and throughout the day were visited by peacocks, iguanas and many different birdlife. What made this holiday an amazing experience was the excellent services of Chadima. Chadima is highly intuitive of what level of attention you prefer and always highly respectful of privacy and would always check before coming in the kitchen. Chadima prepared breakfast every day, asking for our preferences the night before. We also enjoyed some dinners and a lunch prepared by Chadima which were all excellent. Chadima is super proud of using the highest quality ingredients and would be at the fish markets in the early hours of the morning to get the catch of the day if fish was our choice for dinner. We also enjoyed a great fun cookery lesson with Chadima. Excellent & professional hospitality service - highly recommend.

Beautiful, peaceful, villa. We enjoyed the pool and the gorgeous views. We were working remotely so the location and setting suited us perfectly. Close enough to lots of bars and restaurants, and easy to get to Galle fort, but peaceful enough to work easily. We did not meet the owners but Kavindhu was very kind, kept the place spotless, and make us delicious breakfasts everyday.

One of our all-time favourite accomodations, from over 40 countries visited. What we loved: - falling asleep with the sound of waves, which was perfect (not too loud, not too low) - our mornings and sunsets on the terrace of the building - the location inside the forest, and on top of the cliffs - nature all around us, with nice fauna (varan, monkeys, peacocks, small birds) visiting us. Don’t worry, there is nothing dangerous, they avoid people - The access to the cliff which is just a couple of steps away from the villas. Very good place for sunsets and meditation after - The pool is really nice for relaxing swimming at the end of the day - Near 2 beaches : Jungle beach (amaaaazing place) and Unawatuna beach, also very nice - Small cozy restaurants just outside the villas - A lot of space inside, very comfortable beds & pillows - The host and personnel are top-notch. Hospitality at next level. It was my wife’s 25th birthday and they helped us make it memorable. Great experience!

Everything is great, help with all questions, bikes and other questions . I knocked out the internet a couple of times, but the guys fixed it. The pool is clean and in hot weather it solves a lot 😌

Absolute paradise! This place had everything we were dreaming of and more. Beautiful surroundings, amazing pool, incredible beaches around, super nice and discreet staff and three adorable dogs, which is definitely a plus point to feel at home! CJ went out of her way to help us settle and feel comfortable, it was truly a memorable stay, thank you for everything!!

Can’t recommend this place enough whilst visiting the beach!! Suraj was so lovely with showing me around, it’s the perfect place to stay!!

This was our favorite guest house during our two months in Sri Lanka, it is clean, spacious, kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the garden is beautiful (our 3 year old loved it), also Prageeth is a great and kind host. We stayed at Prageeth's place for almost two weeks and didnt want to leave. Yes, Mirissa beach is a little far (about 8 minute ride with bus or tuc tuc) but there are also local wild beaches nearby (I also recommend to check out Polhena beach which is same distance as Mirissa beach). Also there is a great restaurant (Zephyr) in about 5 minutes walk which I highly recommend as the food there was delicious. Also a small shop, meat shop, fish and vegetable stands are very close. Overall a highly recommended place.

Great cozy and quiet place run by a very friendly family :)

Darshani's and Lucky's home is just amazing, we spent so goo time there! First of all, it is an entire floor (which is huge!) with your own private gate. The floor has a really big free space : wonderful chill zone with a lot of sofas, nice bedroom with a/c, bathroom and your own kitchen with all you need for daily cooking. There is also a dining table which is great as a workplace as well. In the living room there are some balconies and if you will open the doors you will feel a light cool breeze, so nice! The wi-fi is good for daily work as well. Location is nice, its close to the beach(10 min by bike) where you can swim with turtles. But the most important are hosts - Darshani and Lucky are so kind, caring and lovely. The will help with anything you need and even more! We had a wonderful time in their house and we would stay more, but it was already booked by another people for a several months, so you are lucky if you have an opportunity to book this amazing place.

This villa was perfect! Very spacious and both rooms had plenty of privacy. Short walk to the beach and several great restaurants. We extended our stay by a week because the house was so comfortable. Nilu was also very quick with communication whenever we needed anything. Thanks again!

We had an amazing time here with my girlfriend! Lahiru' family is really kind and helpful , especially his brother Prabath!He always made sure we have everything we need ! We stayed for a week and we wish we come back !!! Is one of the best apartments in Airbnb we have stayed!

We stayed for two nights with our family and everyone loved this place. The house is located in a beautiful land. It's private, calm and peaceful. We saw lots of peacocks in the yard and fruit trees all around. The host and the caretakers were very friendly, responsive and hospitable. We will definitely return here!

Amazing place. I really loved this house. My kids loved the pool and they wanted to stay longer :) I truly recommend this place.

Pradeep and Thanaka are wonderful hosts, the location is amazing and the listing photos don’t do the place justice. The house is an amazing timber frame traditional building with beautiful rustic doors and wardrobes. Very earthy and connected to the environment that pours into the space you share with monkeys, lizards, bats, frogs and many more of Sri Lanka’s creatures. The onsite Tuk Tuk was a plus and the home cooked food delicious, which even my three young children from London enjoyed ! Thank you for our stay

It exceeded our expectations. House is spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view across the lake. The standout bonus was Sonali and her team, she is the most talented chef and an enchanting lady and nothing was too much trouble. This place is amazing and we hope to return soon.

Beautiful house and garden. We felt totally at home, and so well looked after. There is a caretaker who lives in a house on the grounds so you have the peace of mind that there is someone there should you need anything and he keeps the place secure. We also had a team come every morning at whatever time we wanted to make us the most amazing breakfast- pancakes, waffles, fruit, roti, dahl, eggs, tea etc. It was a 10 min walk to the shops and beach and easy to grab a tuk tuk back when we wanted. Air con was great. Pool was beautiful. Monkeys and peacocks entertained us in the morning. Can’t fault the place.

Charitha’s place is a little piece of heaven on earth. It is even more beautiful than in the pictures ;-) The house is right in front of the surf spot, so you can see exactly what is happening and paddle out right in front of the house. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming and caring. We also had delicious meals cooked by the most friendly chef. We had an incredible time and will definitely be coming back!!!

This place is beautiful beyond words. The staff here make it the ultimate holiday experience. The food that comes out of the kitchen is delicious both western and local food. This place is simply hospitality done well. We hope to return ❤️
