Monthly Rentals in Elba

The views out the front windows were probably the best part of this place. I LOVED waking up in the morning to see the river, flocks of various kinds of birds, barges and the occasional train. We had all the amenities we needed, plenty of beds (we had 6 teen girls that LOVED being able to sleep in the same room upstairs with the twins and rollaway), and although there is not much to do in the immediate vicinity, there there are plenty of options for cute towns and lots of hiking nearby. We chose to go into Winona and do the Sugar Loaf hike, then got ice cream and shopped in town. After checking out, we hit Stockholm, WI, which was also enjoyable. Everyone in our crew loved this place. Greg was super responsive (and patient with me asking about the Wifi...I realized later it was already in his instructions). Great experience!

The stay was absolutely perfect. I stayed there to turkey hunt at the Whitewater WMA. Lorne communicated with me the entire time to make sure I had everything I needed at the house. The house was very clean and had all the things needed to cook every night. Lorne stopped by several times to say hi and make sure there wasn’t anything I needed. Lorne was a fantastic host and his place is beautiful. His restaurant in town, Elba House, serves fantastic food and is place you have to try.

Scenic spot on the slough with many interesting birds. We biked from the home to Merrick State Park and then to Prairie Moon Sculpture park (must see) The rental was well-furnished and comfortable. There was good local info plus many games. Highly recommend! Note: if you are a light sleeper, be aware that there are nearby freight trains, which were not too loud as my hubby slept through them completely.

We really liked the location—proximity to hiking trails at St Mary’s University and an easy drive to Winona. The sauna was an outstanding feature that we used daily. The house was cozy and peaceful, truly felt like a getaway. We would highly recommend staying here.
