The treehouse is hidden up in the trees on the property of Alaska’s #1 Rated Hostel - Sven’s Basecamp Hostel. Sven’s Basecamp Hostel is where adventurers in Alaska begin a journey, meet up after a trip, or take a much-needed rest. Mountaineers, amateur naturalist, wilderness guides, motorcyclist, and those looking to explore Alaska find friends and relaxation here like nowhere else in Fairbanks.
“The treehouse is a really unique experience in a very interesting space - a hostel mixed with a campground vibe. Public spaces were great, clean and cute. Check in was easy and the hosts were really responsive to messages. The treehouse itself is clearly a labor of love: well put together and maintained. It can get a little chilly overnight, but that's to be expected in Fairbanks in the fall. To access and leave the treehouse, you have to climb stairs and go over a rope bridge both ways, but as long as you're comfortable with that, it's a really neat experience.”
Completely remodeled home right in the heart of Fairbanks. This home is located on the Chena River, which winds through Fairbanks and is flowing with boats and floaters enjoying the midnight sun. Come relax on the deck with a beer and see why people love Fairbanks summers. ☀️ In the winter, enjoy the view of the northern lights from the comfort of the couch or private deck.
“Great home, great location (seconds from Starbucks!!) and beautiful view! I was sad that I was unable to see the Aurora Borealis during my stay, but I can see how this home could be a great vantage point with it’s unobstructed views over the river. Very clean and cozy home, very responsive and thoughtful host.”
Located in the wilderness however you’ll be close to the airport, the University of Alaska, the train station, ski/hiking trails, local restaurants and shopping. There is no light pollution so if the aurora is out it will be visible on a clear night. Beautiful views from a private deck.
“What a lovely experience! Our stay in this adorable cabin was extremely comfortable and enjoyable. We had everything we needed and the contact with the owners was excellent. I agree with another review that the pictures did not do it justice. We were warm and cozy even though the temps outside were were sub-zero and below for most of our stay. We even had a visit from a young moose right out the window and enjoyed viewing him from a safe place. We would definitely recommend this place and we hope to return someday!”
