Peace & Quiet In A Tuscan Hill Top Discovery

Gioviano is a small quiet medieval village 25 kms from the walled city of Lucca in the Garfagnana. The house is peacful and in the heart of this beautiful Tuscan village, if you want to explore the region this is a perfect retreat for a weekend or longer. We are 50 minutes from Pisa airport on the SS12 route. The location is perfect for summer or winter. In summer you can reach the sea, in winter ski in the hills. All year round you can explore the region by foot, bicycle, motorcycle or car.

CORNIGLIA is the most peaceful of the 5 towns and the best starting point to walk both the lovely trail to Vernazza and the one to Manarola through the terraced vineyards facing the water! It is surrounded by chestnut woods and centuries-old oaks, just a 10-minute drive from Borgo Val di Taro, the main village.

'La Casetta Bianca' is in the middle of 13 hectares of uncontaminated land and woods where you will enjoy the view of the Taro valley,the trekking tracks but also the vicinity of the WWF oasis ' Ghirardi ',the Bardi and Compiano castles. To reach us,from Piazza Farnese in Borgotaro,you take the direction towards Monticelli ( 2 km),you go across this small town and keep driving on the white road for approx 1 km,and you will be there!

The hut in the chestnut forest

Live an unforgettable experience in our lodge nestled in the forest, in a spectacular natural setting is perfect for relaxing in touch with unspoiled nature. It used to be an old chestnut dryer and has been completely renovated to provide comfort while maintaining the old charm. With your stay you can enjoy access to our private beaches on the river downstream for a rejuvenating dip.

The house is located in northern Tuscany, in the heart of green Lunigiana, on the edge of a chestnut forest with a fantastic view of the Apennines. The house is perfect for a relaxing holiday and it is not far from the mediterranean coast and the Cinque Terre (Unesco Heritage). The house and the garden are independent and for the exclusive use of the guests.
