You can hike and bike here wonderfully. The Meulenwald is a continuous forest area of the southern Eifel and extends to Trier, the oldest city in Germany with many Roman relics, which is about 40 km away. The Mears of the Volcanic Eifel are also only about 40 km away and a worthwhile destination for a day trip.
