The perfect place to discover the heart of Ikaria...
“This was the best experience we've had yet to date at an airbnb. Our host, Stathoula, welcomed us with open arms, fresh vegetables and local Ikarian wine. If you love to cook, all the amenities are there to do so. The place is located above the closest town known as Raches. Raches is a very romantic spot with cafes and wooden sitting areas lining the streets. There is a local supermarket as well! An average load of groceries for breakfast, lunch and dinner (including snacks) came to about 10 Euros. This is a much cheaper option than some of the restaurants in the area, however, there were a few hidden gems with great food. Hitchhiking is a large part of the Ikaria community. You will see people pick up their fellow neighbours (including tourists) who are walking down the one winding road that passes through Raches and ends in Armenistis. Armenistis is lined with beautiful beaches, including a private bay (Mikro Livadi) if you look close enough. This bay is a little more difficult to get to, but worth it. Overall, Stathoula went above and beyond. Not to mention she drove us to a few beaches with her car that were on the west coast of the island. Thank you Stathoula, we love you!”
My 3 apartments are located in the tranquille village of Pigi, a village hidden in the mountains with a splendid view of the north seacoast of Ikaria. Pigi is just 5km from the port village of Evdilos and just 6km from the village of Armenistis with the beautiful beaches and only 10 minutes from Kampos beach. I have three apartments with own private veranda each. Each can accomodate 2 people.Perfect for couples or two friends. I will be very happy to have you stay with me.
“Renee's place is an amazing experience for someone who travels to Ikaria! Her little sanctuary is definitely off the beaten path, so close to nature and away from the crowds and roads of the island. It was amazing to wake up to the rising sun and have the beautiful panorama of the sea and the surrounding hills and villages. We spent most of our time on the shady terrace just relaxing and enjoying the vibes of the little paradise Renee created over the years. Renee is an amazing host, she really made us feel at home and part of the island from the moment we met her! Her hospitality and kindness really made our stay in Ikaria unforgettable and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Renee's whether it is a shorter or a longer stay in Ikaria.”
It is a house option that combines the tranquillity with wild beauty in an incredible location, offering the comforts of a modern home. The space is ideal for people who love peace, tranquility, concentration and meditation, people who will have the opportunity to live in a picturesque beach house in a small cove, just outside the crowded tourist areas of the island. Because of the "rough" beauty of the location, you need to pay extra attention to the supervision of young children.
“We have stayed in many airbnb's around the world but Zoe and Nikos place in Ikaria is by far our favourite, both because of the location/scenery and the generosity and kindness of the hosts. Ikaria is amazing both in terms of it's natural beauty and the vibe & kindness of the people. It was our second trip to Zoe & Nikos place this year because we enjoyed it so much last year and we hope to return next year. Given we come from New Zealand, it's quite a way to travel but oh so worth it. I can't speak highly enough of the property and the hosts. My only reticence is that we love Ikaria because it is so free of the commercialism and hordes of tourists one will find elsewhere, and giving this review might encourage other people to visit, but fair is fair, it's an amazing place and we believe this lovely house is in the best spot on the island. Thanks Zoe and Nikos and we hope to see you in 2020. :)”
