Shodoshima, 30 seconds to the sea, you can see the sea from any room

This house is located on the quiet seaside of Shodoshima Town. It is a house built just to watch the sunset over the sea. Unfortunately, we have a lot of stairs on the terrace, so it's not barrier free. (I will do my best to help with your luggage, etc.) However, at the top of the high terrace, the calm and beautiful sea of Setouchi, sparkling with sunlight, and the changing faces of the crimson sunset await you every day. Please enjoy an extraordinary time and forget about the time. You enter the room by climbing the terrace stairs. It is not barrier free. Please be sure to have an adult accompany you when going up and down stairs with small children. Also, there are many stairs on rainy days, so it may be inconvenient. Also, the road in front of the inn is not paved. Please note that this may cause some inconvenience. There are many insects because there is a lot of nature around the house. Insects may enter when windows or doors are opened or closed. (Especially at night, insects gather in the light of the inn) We are very sorry, but please refrain from staying if you don't like insects.

Size: 108.5 ㎡ (1st floor 85 ㎡, 2nd floor 23.5 ㎡) If you need more than one bedroom, there are 2 Japanese-style rooms with 10 tatami mats in the back building (with separate entrances, toilets, and verandas), so you can use a total of 3 bedrooms. Please let us know at the time of booking. A total of 160 m² of space is available with an additional 51.5 m². For breakfast, we provide coffee, bread, butter, and eggs from Oniwa Farm. You can enjoy the Irori, a traditional Japanese sunken fireplace, and the world's only egg-shaped sauna. The egg sauna is especially recommended, as it was created with a shape that allows heat to circulate naturally. This is all handmade (DIY)! Feel both the heat of the wood stove in the sauna and the creative heat of JP. You can also enjoy hot pots and grilled fish skewers in the hearth, which has been restored by DIY. Please bring all your own food, so please come after buying it at a nearby supermarket. The location is a region called "Kobo" in the foothills of Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture. Nishi-Awakura Village, which is becoming a popular topic as a village of local creation and migration, is just around the corner, so I think it would be interesting to stop by on the way.

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
