[House Story] This house was inspired by a childhood dream of living in a Nordic home.It all started with my longing for a cosy cabin like the ones you see in stories, surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. After living in Sweden and New Zealand, I returned to Japan and, together with my husband Andy, took over a cottage that was due to be demolished just one month later. From the window, you have a panoramic view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the Ferris wheel, and the night view of Kobe on the opposite shore. Enjoy a different side of Awaji Island from that during the day. Have a BBQ with your family, relax in the sauna, or let the children play in the garden. Forget about your everyday life and spend time doing whatever you like. Located in a quiet area on the mountain side surrounded by greenery, you can enjoy a relaxing island time while listening to the sounds of nature. It is a convenient location as a base for sightseeing, with the E car park of the popular theme park "Nijigen no Mori" about a 5-minute walk away. There are also swings and a balance beam. Four cars can be parked on the premises. Note At our facility, we value your enjoyment of a relaxing stay in a quiet environment. All fires, such as charcoal or gas BBQs, campfires, and fireworks, are strictly prohibited. (BBQ is only possible with the electric grill provided) Please smoke in the designated area. The BBQ area can be used until 9 pm, and the sauna can be used until 10 pm.

There are two large bathtubs and showers where you can relax in the bath. Families and groups can all bathe together. Also within walking distance is Hachioji-sanso, Makino Shiraya Onsen. It is a hot spring facility where you can enjoy one of the best 100% natural radon hot springs in Kansai. Please feel free to use it. You can enjoy a barbecue on the outdoor wooden deck. You don't need to bring any tools. Please bring only ingredients, condiments, and drinks. * In case of strong winds, we may ask you to refrain from using the barbecue area for safety reasons. ⚠︎ Because the mountains are close and the location is rich in nature, insects may appear indoors depending on the season, even if we take countermeasures. You can enjoy cherry blossoms in Kaizu Osaki in spring, swimming in Lake Biwa in summer, fruit picking in early summer to autumn, and Makino Highlands, Ohana Resort, and Mt. Hakodate in winter, all year round.

In winter, spend the day with a warm wood stove. Firewood is available free of charge, mainly sawtooth oak and beech. We will carefully explain how to use the stove at check-in. Please use it with peace of mind. 　On the south side of the villa, you can spend a quiet time with a hammock and bench in the sawtooth oak forest. On the east side is a barbecue corner, a long garden, and a wooden deck. On the north side, there is a sawtooth oak forest and you can pick chestnuts in autumn. Nearby popular spots include Heisu Osaki, one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan in spring, Lake Biwa in summer, a huge avenue of Metasequoia trees, one of the 100 best street trees in Japan in autumn, and Hakushin Shrine, a power spot with a large torii gate floating on Lake Biwa, is also very popular in winter.
