The town of Wehlen is located in the Upper Elbe Valley in the heart of Saxon Switzerland National Park. The tranquil health resort looks back on almost 800 years of history. The market house is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel of Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the historic castle ruin. The vaulted cellars date back to 1527, while the main house was built in 1734 in the Franconian half-timbered style.

Here you have an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions into the rocky world of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with its mountains to conquer and wild, romantic valleys. The city centre and public transport (S-Bahn, bus and boat) are about 15 minutes' walk away.
