Om home stay

SunnyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We stayed for 3 weeks at the cottage in Dec and one word to describe the stay is peaceful. The cottage is surrounded by mountains & conifers , away from the hustle bustle of touristy places. The trek from the last motorable road to the cottage maybe tiring for some but if one has an active lifestyle, it shouldnt be much and its rather fun. The luggage is transported via ropeway and the hosts help with it. The cottage is clean & cosy with all necessary amenities. It has a fully equipped kitchen which we utilised quite a lot as we cooked multiple meals. The hosts Om Prakash Ji & Asha ji are very warm, friendly, helpful people, and excellent cooks. We tasted couple of local delicacies prepared by them and absolutely loved it. Although the market is far, Om Prakash ji helped us with groceries , medicines whenever we needed. He even made kaadha for us when we were a bit down with cold. Internet connectivity is good. We 100% recommend the property if you wanted to experience tranquiity.

About the Host/Caretaker- Kaveti (Host) was responsive from booking till checkout. Although he was not there, but was checking up on us via phone continuously. Being a total new to this place, i wasn't aware of what to visit but our Host Kaveti had a guide book which helped us in deciding what to visit but unfortunately we couldn't because of snow and rain. Caretaker Pooja didi makes finger licking food and an amazing host. She even made local food for us which also tasted good. About the Property- It was a 10-15 min downtrek from an off road with steep slopes to short plain trail. We had a rucksack and a trolley bag (not recommended if planning a trip in woods) but Hemu bhai (husband of Pooja didi) and their children helped us in taking our luggage to the property. They were like goat of Himalayas compare to us. 😅 Who can visit- Couple, Group of 4-5 people, couple with pet. Believe me, your pet would love to revisit. Not recommended for old people with knee or heart or lung issue.

Nomad Heaven in the Himalayas

So special, peaceful and magical. From the moment I came- Megh and his beautiful family were there to take me with a taxi from the most close city and after to drive me to the home. The space is quiet, peaceful and has lovely people living around. The beautiful smell of the wood oven fire places, the sound of nothing in the morning as you enjoy a tea. You are really one with the mountains and forest. Yummy curries made with love from megh and his wife Rena. Chai. Aloo paratha, curd and pickles. I made most of my food and went for shopping in Banjar, the most close village. It is 1 hour walking but megh can drive you or take things for you- if you wish. If your interested in a beautiful walk in the sacred himalayas, my time here is an experience i will remember forever. The house is SO very comfy, great kitchen, warm blankets for winter as it can be very cold but with the sauna and fire its lovely. You can feel how much love went into this space and simones beautiful energy all around.

Traditional Mud Hut in Orchard

TanyaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had an incredible stay at this beautiful mud hut in a very small beautiful Renh Village in sainj Valley. The hut itself was aesthetically pleasing and gave off such a unique, aesthetic vibe. It was beautifully constructed, giving us a cozy and homely feel. Our hosts, the true Pahari locals, were simply wonderful. Radha Didi, the main host, and her daughter were so warm and welcoming, making us feel like part of their family. They prepared simple, yet absolutely delicious meals for us, which tasted even more delightful in the chilly December weather. The surrounding orchards and the bonfire they lit for us added to the charm of our stay. We also loved exploring the nearby trekking spots, which were easily accessible from the hut. The villagers in the area were overwhelmingly kind and welcoming, adding to our overall experience. We can’t express how much we loved staying here and look forward to visiting again in the summer. We’ve truly left a piece of our heart in this village.
