Located halfway around the Cabot Trail at Pleasant Bay, in the heart of the Cape Breton Highland National Park. Easy walking distance to the harbour front and beach, discount deals on whale watching tours. I can offer a lobster boil experience and teach our traditional way to eat lobster or you can just escape from it all and watch the sun set as you listen to the soothing ocean waves. I am only fifteen to twenty minutes from the Skyline Trail and ten minutes from Fishing Cove hike by car.

The Sawmill

Nestled in a basin of mountains, rivers and ocean, The Saw Mill is a remote, rustic, historic home amidst the Cape Breton Highlands. Built in 1867, it is the second oldest house in Pleasant Bay and has been many different things to the community throughout the years, including: a post office, a general store, one of the first school teachers and of course, a sawmill. A winding trail from the house leads you directly to Red River Beach, a community beach with ocean and river access.

The Lantern House

Welcome to the Lantern House, a large beautiful house with 360-degree panoramic views of the sea and 3 immediate white sand beaches. There are 2 SUP boards (stand up paddle) and bicycles. For 2025, major renovations have been carried out, new floors, new mattresses, sofas and wall paneling in solid pine, bedroom furniture replaced. You're going to love it! The 7-passenger 4x4 Ford car is included with the house, free of charge.
