We renovated a two-storey storehouse built in the Edo period and turned it into a guest house. It is not large, but retains the atmosphere of a traditional earthen-walled storehouse, with thick beams and more. There is a kitchen on the ground floor with an IH cooking heater.Fully air-conditioned on the 1st and 2nd floors for a comfortable stay.You can experience the sound insulation, the coolness of the summer, and the warmth of winter. There is a sauna facility about five minutes away by car, Nekawa Onsen about 15 minutes away, and Kita-Omi-no-Yu about 20 minutes away. There are many sightseeing spots unique to Nagahama, which are often the setting of history. National treasure Hikone Castle, Nagahama Castle in Hideyoshi Toyotomi, the birthplace of Mitsunari Ishida, Japan's premier mountain castle, Otani Castle, battlefields, and Takatake, etc.It is also less than a 20-minute drive to the Sekigahara Battle site. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
