Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Sande's beach bungalow is located 150 steps away from the shore of beautiful Lake Michigan. A Sunny vintage two bedroom, two full bathrooms. Equipped kitchen. Enclosed front porch that allows you to relax on the swing after a long day at the beach, this area could accommodate 1 or 2 extra guests with advance notice. Wi-Fi and large TVs. Outdoor dining with gas grill. Parking for two cars in front. A short walk to Washington Park & Zoo, Picturesque Marina, and several Dining establishments.

Note: We have a 3 night minimum stay during summer, but open up 2 night stays 1-2 weeks before if possible.

The ideally located retreat provides the perfect getaway. *4th bedroom is very small, has 2 bunk beds but not much room for much else.

Guests can walk a few minutes to enjoy nearby restaurants such as Dune Billies for breakfast and Cool Runnings Jamaican restaurant. There’s a nearby park and a small dune for short hikes. Other nearby attractions include the Washington park and zoo (5-10 min walk), Blue Chip casino (2 min drive), the Indiana Dunes National Park (20 min drive)
