Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Midlothian

We enjoyed our stay. Phil and Jude were very friendly and helpful. Our group consisted of 5 adults and 1 child. When we first saw inside the house it was more than we expected. The sun shining in through the windows, lovely and warm made us feel relaxed and comfortable. As we all came from different parts of Regional Australia, for us it was what we were looking for, quiet, spacious and close to attractions and extended family. The walks through the countryside were beautiful and the locals we met were very friendly. It is a lovely place to stay with very kind and attentive hosts.

The East Wing of Islay House was very spacious and comfy. It was clean and tidy and did not lack any amenities. Sandra provided firewood for the fireplace and plenty of local information. The village of Pencaitland is quiet an peaceful with a shop/petrol station within walking distance and lots of short walks. There were lots of longer walks within 12-30 mins, including those in Edinburgh. Even better if: queen or king bed instead of double bed, description and external photos more accurately reflect that the accommodation is part of a larger house, and it is made clear whether or not both sets of gates can be shut to provide a full secured outside space for dogs. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend :).

We really enjoyed Kiera’s place! It was as described and well heated in the Scottish winter! The parking was convenient and the house was not far from public transport links into Edinburgh centre. Only note was most cabinets and dressers had host’s items in so there wasn’t a lot of space for our own storage. But overall a very nice space and good value for being so close to Edinburgh. We found the home and its location great for our needs!

A really lovely and well-kept accommodation, close to Edinburgh but set in a beautiful country estate. The cottage itself is spacious, cosy and very well equipped. If you have dogs and/or small children it’s ideal, as you can walk from the doorstep without dealing with any busy roads. There’s an excellent fenced off area which keeps your dogs penned in. If you’re a cook, the equipment is very good and plenty of utensils. Children’s bib and plate also available, toys in the sitting room. Heating is very efficient and we were provided firewood which was nice. Definitely recommend for families for cosy holidays and outdoors activities and also good proximity to Edinburgh- the local towns also have trains to the city.

We really enjoyed Christine's place. The house is beautifully and cosily furnished and nothing is missing. The hosts are friendly, open-minded and helpful. We really enjoyed our time and can only recommend it.

Perfect place to stay for a few days on a budget. About 10min walk from bus stops that led to the city, took about an hour to get into the city from here. Owners always got back with us quickly and were so kind. I reccommend staying here if you want more of a cozy stay away from the city!

The apartment is really bright and spacious and tastefully decorated. The living area and kitchen are perfect. The apartment has everything you need including a washing machine and dryer. Audrey explained everything very clearly to us when we arrived to drop off our luggage (the owners facilitated an early drop off before 4pm). In terms of improvements, the water boiler is quite noisy so if someone used the bathroom late, it could wake other guests. We would have appreciated shampoo in the bathroom - some of our party flew with hand luggage only with a small liquids allowance. We enjoyed our stay and it was convenient for the EICC, a 10-15 minute walk. The welcome breakfast pack was a nice touch. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including Napoli-themed Pizzeria 1926 with delicious pizzas!

A beautiful, warm and delightful holiday home. Few mins walk to the beach and on a lovely holiday park with great facilities for children and dogs. Amazingly stocked kitchen equipment and such comfy beds and bedding. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back!

We just felt right at home and comfortable in Mary's van....location was quiet and easily accessible...lovely little touches throughout...willl be back !!

Dainne’s place was one of my best experiences in the Scotland UK. It was my first time staying in a caravan home. Very nice and quiet place. I stayed for one night but wish to stay longer next time. Good price, clean and organized. The host was very responsive. Thank you!

Caravan very clean exactly as described. Easy to find at the top end of the park nice and quiet location. Lucy was very welcoming and checked that everything was ok.

Ideal for short family break to visit friends and explore the area

A wonderful place and a wonderful host! The flat is beautifully decorated and furnished in a quiet location but not far from a high street with all you need. Corey was very accommodating and answered any queries very quickly. Highly recommend!

Luka has been an excellent host. The apartment is perfect, has every detail, and makes you feel right at home! We'd love to come back soon!

Great spot close to city center!

The accommodation looked amazing and perfect for our needs but, unfortunately, into the last minute due to illness, we had to let her down. We're very sorry and completely understand why she's so unhappy.

Perfect stay for a few days, clean, tidy and easy to access. Surrounding footpaths were very nice to stroll and could see the river from the window. Would recommend.

Very clean flat and had a very relaxed vibe! Easy to find and check in, Amanda provided clear instructions and pictures. Also very close to transport links and nice how there was a car space too. Felt very safe and flat was quiet even though it was on a main road.

This house was exactly as advertised. Spacious and beautiful. Perfect for two families. Check in was easy and Jacki was very responsive.
