Mikami Kanbei Honten - Enjoy the Edo atmosphere in the detached house of the cultural property "Old Mikami Family Residence" -

This is a private rental accommodation located next to the historic site of the former Sanjo residence in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture. The former Sanjo family has prospered in the shipping, silk, and sake industries in Miyazu Castle since the Edo period. It was also the residence of the Edo shogunate patrol officer, and in the Meiji period, it was the residence of Prince Arisugawa Takahito and Prince Komatsu Takahito, and is now designated as an important cultural property by the country. We have rebuilt the annex as an inn, "Miyanaka Kanbei Honten". The name of the house is the same as the sake brewery at the time. The owner carefully selected high-quality flooring and tiles while maintaining the atmosphere of that time, and placed selected sofas, tables, and bar counters in the living room on the ground floor. We have created a space for you to relax and unwind. Please spend your time in a high-quality space while feeling the history and seasonal changes of Miyazu, a port town that has fascinated many people since ancient times. Guests staying at the property will receive a free ticket to the former residence of the Mikami family! You can use it on either your check-in or check-out date. We hope you enjoy the Edo atmosphere. The opening hours of the Former Sanjo Matsuya residence are from 9: 00 to 17: 00. (Admission reception is until 16: 30) Closed during the New Year's holidays (December 29 - January 3).

An old private house surrounded by rivers and forests, limited to one group per day. Here, you can enjoy your stay surrounded by sound, fire, water and stars. The music room has a grand piano, drums, guitar, and bass. During the pizza oven experience (separate charge), you’ll bake authentic Neapolitan pizza, and in the evening, you’ll enjoy a BBQ and sit around a bonfire while gazing at the starry sky and the Milky Way. In summer, you can play in the river right nearby and unwind in nature with a tent sauna (additional charge). Inside the traditional kominka house, there is a fully equipped kitchen, formerly a café, so you can cook together, or you can read quietly in the reading room. You can spend your "favourite time" freely. The bath is a ceramic tub made of Shigaraki ware. Please relax your mind and body slowly, while wrapped in the warmth of the fire lit with firewood and the scent of cypress. Spend time in your own space, not in a hotel, where no one will disturb you. Enjoy your time. A transfer service to and from the nearest station is also available. There are several options available. Umieru Shiro is a private rental inn built in a village overlooking a quiet cove. Enjoy a peaceful time on the deck overlooking the sea and listening to the waves. A bright space wrapped in the warmth of wood and morning light, it can accommodate up to 5 people (4 adults + 1 child). It is also recommended for trips with family and friends. The first floor has a living room and kitchen with light, and the second floor has a bedroom and a bench by the window. It is designed so that you can relax while looking at the sea and forest views, It is also equipped with Wi-Fi, kitchen appliances, and a washer and dryer, making it ideal for long-term stays and workations. The area around the inn has a road along the cove where you can walk and fish, Within walking distance, there is the highly transparent Kotobikihama Beach and seasonal walking spots. For those who want to enjoy both sightseeing and accommodation, we recommend staying for 2 nights or more. During the day, you can visit the Ine Boat House and Amanohashidate, and spend a quiet time at night, You can enjoy the charm of this place more deeply. In this place, a little away from the bustling tourist attractions, Enjoy a "travel like you live" moment.

A building where you can stay while feeling the region

A property that had been vacant for about 3 years in the "Kami-Miyazu" area, which boasts countryside scenery and is about a 10-minute drive from the center of Miyazu, was renovated into a private rental accommodation. It is 10 minutes to the sea, 15 minutes to Amanohashidate, and 45 minutes to Ine no Funaya. It is not a particularly beautiful facility, but you can spend a relaxing time unique to the area. Basically, we don't serve food, but if you'd like, you can book a breakfast onigiri set at the nearby onigiri cafe, which is limited to our facility (for a fee) We can also introduce you to local people, BBQ, harvesting experiences, e-bike tours in the area, and more. Please check with me in advanced. BBQ is also available for rent as a set for ¥2,200. (Chairs, stove, charcoal, lighter, from preparation to cleaning up) Food is not included. Please bring your own. We do not allow BBQs outside of rentals. In the garage, in addition to BBQ, you can do bicycle and motorcycle maintenance without getting wet from the rain. You can store it in a locked building, so you can travel around Tango with peace of mind. Parking is available right behind the facility.

Limited to one group per day. The semi-open-air bath, which uses 100% natural hot springs, overlooks the Sea of Japan. Enjoy the contrast between Kyoto's nature and the Sea of Japan, and enjoy a luxurious time flowing slowly. Spread out and relax in the spacious dining room with a counter kitchen. You can also enjoy a BBQ on the wooden deck with a view of the sea. There are 3 bedrooms in total. Please have a good time with your family, friends, couples, etc. while also ensuring private space. In summer, we also recommend playing in the water at the pool and beach, which is 5 minutes from the inn. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.
