The 1847 Powhattan House & Living History Museum

Until there is time-travel, staying in the 1847 Powhatan House may be the next best thing. This is the 3rd oldest house in Galveston and has an amazing, almost unbelievable history. This beautiful Greek Revival style home is located 3 blocks from the beach and close to the Strand. The story of the house is told in a brief documentary on YouTube entitled “The Amazing History of Galveston's 1847 Powhatan House.”

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located on a quiet street. Fish or crab off the private dock. You can also launch your boat at the local marina and tie it to the pier. A safe place to swim or lounge around on floats. This home is ideal for both. I do have ring motion lights between the garage doors and one by the front door. There are no cameras in the home.
