Our cabin located in town, is just 10 minutes from the Gifford Pinchot National forest, and only 11.9 miles from the Ohanapecosh campground. Google Maps shows Packwood as 2.5 hours from Portland or Seattle, and only 20 minutes from White Pass Skiing. Enjoy your next trip to Mt Rainier or the White Pass ski resort while staying at Base Camp.

Historical White Pass Ticket Booth Packwood

This is the original White Pass Ski Resort ticket booth, then lifty shack, and finally wax room, built in the 1950's, when White Pass first opened. It became somewhat run down and put out of service, but was rescued by a Packwoodian with vision. It was hauled down from White Pass on a flatbed truck, where it was given a new metal roof, insulation, rough-hewn cedar and corrugated metal interior walls. With log bunkbeds, rocking chairs, cozy blankets, it's a snug abode for skiers and hikers!

Log Cabin. Located one mile from Gifford Pinchot National Forest surrounded by trees, roaming Elk and beautiful mountain views. Peaceful, quiet and secure property. Perfect place for hunters, hikers, skiers, adventurers or a romantic getaway. The cabin is 12'x16' with a private drive and fencing for privacy, fire pit and BBQ grill with a picnic bench, toilet and sink but no shower or tub. It has a coffee bar but no kitchen.
