Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Pietermaritzburg

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great place to visit with a busy toddler. Our daughter loved wandering around the grounds and seeing the cows, plus they brought her some toys to play with - what a spoil. We would love to be back.

What a lovely place. Spacious, clean and peaceful. Lovely surroundings with a big stoep. Close to shops and restaurants. I easily recommend this place.

Visiting from the UK, Angela the host gave clear directions & gate entry info. On arrival we were greeted with a thatch roof rondawel in the most serene & private surroundings. Felt so tranquil & peaceful looking out over her beautiful garden. The rondawel has a lovely rustic feel & was spotless with the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar & milk plus some delicious biscuits & a dram of Sherry! There’s a fire pit to enjoy looking up at the vast African sky & a swimming pool to enjoy by day. Vervet monkeys were busy foraging & little duikers came to visit. We stayed here 4 times during our visit we enjoyed it so much. Angela gave us tips on places to visit & eat & was so friendly during our stays. We will definitely be back!

The Thatched Cottage at Beverley Country Cottages exceeded our expectations. The view was even better than the pictures, and the cottage was comfortable and well appointed. Kate and Ruth and team were friendly hosts, and very responsive in addressing any issues with the house. We liked the peace and quiet of the farm, but appreciated that it was close enough to Howick and the rest of the Midlands. Our kids also had great fun with Kate's dogs, who adopted us while we were there. Would definitely recommend!

Stayed in Judy's cottage for a night when in Howick for a family gathering. Felt right at home! The house was larger than we expected and very comfortable. Also close to the Main Road and restaurants. Pam was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit and wanted for nothing.

I loved staying at Lizzi's place while doing some work in the area. Its at the top of Hilton and close to restaurants and shopping centre and a nice peaceful place. I loved staying here while doing hard work during the day. It is close to the forest which I did not have time to do while there but hopefully will be back soon.

We booked Penny's place at the last minute and she was more than willing to assist us. The space is lovely, we enjoyed meals in the open plan kitchen with a view over the valley. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The shower was piping hot and clean which was superb on a rainy cold weekend. Full dstv bouquet allowed us to enjoy the UCI XCO races. All in all, an incredibly pleasant weekend. Thanks Penny.

We had a lovely stay. It was well located for a wedding we attended. Hubby and I enjoyed watching the horses, seeing giraffe and walking through the reserve.
