Hotel with cenote. Valladolid

SteveRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Our heads are still spinning with memories of this beautiful place and the people. The property is a dream, lovely, safe, peaceful and quiet. We arrived by way of the Santa Rita turnoff at Ek-Balam, avoiding Valladolid. Signage to Secreto Maya is excellent. The guys and gals were sweet and friendly -- and fluent in English when our Spanish failed. I'm not sure who was cooking but they should be Michelin rated. Kept the dining open late just for us and a French family. Best cenote for swimming and diving that we have seen in Yucatan. So few people on a weekday that it felt like a private pool. (Apparently they skim it daily to please visitors even though the leaf debris is natural.) We'll go back, hopefully to renew acquaintances with our new friends, including Wera, the wonder puppy.

Romantic jungle experience villa

AlexRating, 5 stars27 months ago
We were unable to stay the full duration at Rigo's but this was not due to the host. The host was friendly and understanding of our situation which made things much less stressful due to our personal circumstances. Rigo was generous enough to offer us a complementary day if we ever visit again which we really appreciate. The location is remote but beautiful and if you're looking for a legitimate jungle experience, Rigo can offer it.

Luxury villa with private cenote

KellyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Adriana’s place was amazing!!! I surprised my partner for his birthday and it was so special. Adriana made us feel at home and gave us the most romantic room. The retreat is so well built, it’s like staying in a piece of art. The sheets and bedding were luxurious and the staff was so friendly. Adriana even got a birthday cake for my partner. The cenote was private and amazing as well. 5 stars all the way and we hope to come back!

Private Studio & Oase im Paradies

MariolaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The cottage that Azul offers is located outside the main city center. This makes it very calm and there is no car noise. The cottage has everything you need to cook meals and get a good night's sleep - a well-stocked kitchen and a comfortable bed. Air conditioning is useful on warm nights. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom is large, impeccably clean and well-stocked. In front of the cottage , on the patio, there was a place to eat. I remember the pool with perfectly clean water. Sun loungers and a sofa bed by the pool. The perfect place to unwind. Communication with Azul was very good. She always responded very quickly and went out of her way to help with anything. She also provided information about the best cenotes in the area. I highly recommend this accommodation, which gave me a lot of privacy and peace of mind.

YAAX BEJO Selva Maya Eco-Cabins

What a wonderful experience we had here! Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle, on comfy beds (clean sheets, towels, & cosy blankets provided), & waking up to the magical chorus of birds was JUST what we were looking for! We brought our own food (just ask if you need any extra equipment in the kitchen), & added to it from our tour round the garden, which was fun! It's the perfect place to escape the stresses of everyday life, & just relax, read, chat, & prepare food. The hosts, Eli, & her husband Marco, are super friendly & helpful. In the evening you can see a mesmerising sky full of stars, & they can light a fire for you to sit beside. The whole place is run on solar power, with a dedication to respecting nature, so biodegradable shampoo & soap are provided (I found I didn't need conditioner..) WIFI is provided, & works well for all basic needs. You can hire a car if you want to explore the area, or for a small fee Eli can pick you up from the bus stop etc... just ask & see! :-)
