Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". The Haven site has a swimming pool, showbar, shop, fish'n'chips, play park, golf course, archery, kids club, plus loads more (Haven facilities open March-Oct only).

Dating back to 1909, and only 9 miles from Edinburgh, this cosy 2 bedroom fisherman's flat has spectacular far-reaching sea views. A perfect base for golfers, families and walkers. Similar to other small fishing villages on the east coast of Scotland, fishing boats still work out of the harbour and can often been seen bringing back the catch from the windows of the flat. Restaurants, pubs, and a supermarket are within walking distance and buses regularly go into Edinburgh from the village.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. This 2 bedroom apartment is the beautifully converted former Great Hall of Dollarbeg Castle. Built in 1890, Dollarbeg Castle was the last gothic baronial style building of its type ever built. Beautifully restored in 2007 to the very highest standards, it was converted into 10 luxury properties, one of which is a conversion of the original "Great Hall" with its vaulted ceiling and majestic views across the formal grounds towards the Ochil Hills in the distance.
