Captain's House | Monte Grosso, Elba

The Casa del Capitano is located on the top of Monte Grosso in the National park of the tuscan archipelago. The location is unique on the island and from here you have a fantastic view of the city of Portoferraio, Piombino, Corsica, Capraia and Gorgona. The house was restored during a project lasting several years, in close collaboration with the National Park and was designed to be self-sufficient and ecological. Here you use purely the energy of the sun, without having to renounce luxury.

Beautiful house not far from the historic center of Porto Azzurro on the first floor, two balconies with deck chairs and a small table for eating. Upon entering, there is a bright kitchen with appliances, an area with a single sofa bed and television, a hallway with a built-in wardrobe, a large bathroom with a tub that can be used as a shower and a beautiful double bedroom with a large wardrobe. Bed linen, bathroom and kitchen are included in the price. Breakfast is NOT included.

You are a 10-minute walk from the centre of Porto Azzurro and the beaches, with convenient parking. You can reach all the destinations without using the car. The wonderful Carmignani promenade is a 15-minute walk away. Along it, you will find Barbarossa beach, Reale beach, and Terra Nera beach, with a fantastic, easy one-hour walk. You have all the services in the village, rentals, a market, a doctor, a pharmacy, etc. A private, fenced garden that is always cool.

In the past, La Guardiola was placed to defend the entrance to Porto Azzurro from the sea. It had two key features: an extensive and dominant view and immediate access to the sea. The view of rare beauty, the sea that pervades every environment, the peace and scents of the Mediterranean scrub, make this place magical. Currently the property, owned by our family since 1994, is a 130 sqm independent villa, surrounded by a park of over 1,000 sqm.
