The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . Our rental - gite "Labeaume" 3/4 persons - is composed on the ground floor of a kitchen (refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, induction hob, oven, microwave...) / dining / living room with sofa bed and flat screen, a bedroom with a double bed in 140, a bathroom and a separate toilet. Upstairs, in mezzanine, 2 single beds in 90. The rental also offers a covered terrace and a private garden. The rental was completely renovated in 2023.

The accommodation is quiet, in a hamlet. The village of Labeaume and the river are accessible by car in 5 minutes. The Chauvet Cave is about 18 km from the house. Many activities are available in the region for outdoor and/or thrill-seeking enthusiasts: hiking, canoeing in the Gorges de l'Ardèche or Chassezac, mountain biking, road biking, caving, canyoning, climbing, tree climbing,... You can also enjoy many markets in the area.
