“This is a lovely, well kept, small home with a beautiful view of the valley behind. It is on a quiet street in a neighborhood filled with colorful characters. If you are wanting to disconnect from the world this is the place to do it as there is no wi-fi. Anita is helpful, professional, and goes out of her way to make her clients feel at home. It is charming and highly recommended.”
Stay in the Storybook Cottage at the Holliday Castle! The Storybook Cottage is a tiny crooked fairytale house located behind our home (which is being converted into a castle!) Enjoy the view from your private back porch! Close to ski resort!
“If you're considering staying here... Definitely do it! You will pull up to the house that is being renovated to look like a castle with a yard filled with storybook style creations from upside houses to a mini farm! After meeting all of the cats, chickens, dog, turkey, duck and, of course, the amazing host, you head into the cottage. The front porch is quaint with a gnome encased on the top and the very sweet slanted roof touch. You can see the pictures for yourself and know that the inside is very clean, full of amenities (milk, butter, water, fruit, coffee, tea and ice to boot), gives you an authentic cabin feel and you can't beat the view! Jill will bring over the world's best zucchini bread which we had for breakfast and it was perfect. After settling in, you're invited to tour the property on a trail around the pond that passes a couple treehouses, what appear to be some future additions to the airbnb collection, an antique tool shed, a chicken coop (taking a couple eggs is an option!) and a bait and tackle shop with fishing supplies. We stayed at Jill's cottage for just one night, but wish it could have been a week! I heard there is great hiking around and some locally owned restaurants. 10/10 would stay here again (partially for the zucchini bread)!”
Take a step back to the Heart of Appalachia on a farm that has been in my family for the last 75 years. Sitting on 40 acres, convenient to the Hatfield and McCoy Trail System (8 miles away ) - this property allows you to enjoy the mountains without roughing it!
“Lisa is a spectacular host! The home is incredibly safe and was easy to find. We loved the location, amenities and the space. Lisa helped arrange a car battery jump that I needed while on property, and she didn’t hesitate to alert a nearby family member who helped us within minutes. Her hospitality is what is right with the world. I took my dad on a trip (back to his dad’s Virginia roots) for his 70th, and Lisa’s home made a perfect getaway. Highly recommend if you are interested in touring Bluefield, Pocahontas and Bramwell areas, although I’m sure there are towns close by we didn’t explore yet! I cannot thank Lisa enough for all she did!!”
