Cycladic house holiday rentals in Rethymno

We were two families with two children and spend a week in Lena’s house. The villa is specious and comfortable. Pool was nice and clean. The house is in a remote location so you do need a car for everything, but you are in a less touristy and quiet spot of Crete and you can reach most of the top attractions within an hour drive. It’s about 15min drive to the nearest beach and 45min to Rhetymno town. It’s also easy to go to the mountains.

Beautiful location and amazing views. Slightly awkward to drive to with slightly bad very hilly roads so a 4x4 would have felt safer but we managed with a small rental car. The villa was lovely and the views were to die for. The infinity pool was really nice. We were welcomed by the owner and his wife himself with a nice welcome pack of provisions. Only (small) caveat is the necessity for a car as even the nearby village, beach and shops was a bit of a hilly trek. Overall a wonderful experience and would stay again.

Papa Pavlovs hus var hyggeligt enkelt og personligt. Et hus med sjæl og mange fine kroge at sidde i når det var hedt, blæsende eller blevet mørkt. Vi var der i 5 uger. Nød ture rundt på øen og også afslapning i Kerames by. Gik mange ture med hunden. Mødte rare mennesker som vi hilste på men ikke kunne tale med pga. af sproget. En virkelig god købmand 200 m væk og div. Taverna Vi vil varmt anbefale stedet og kunne finde finde på at vende tilbage. Ps vores hund kunne blive inde i nedre gård da vi havde et babygitter med.

We had a great stay in Matala. The appartement has a beautiful location with an amazing view over the beach, sea and caves of Matala. It was only 1 min walk to the main street, and 20 meters more to the beach. Loads of nice restaurants and bars on walking distance. The big plus for us was the private outdoor shower to shower off sand/sea water, and the big outdoor table with an incredible view. It was also a really short hike up to the top behind the appartment to watch the sunsets (on the way to the red beach). Ieronimoss was really helpfull with check-in and check-out. Recommended!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit mit Ian in Melambes. Das ist AirBnB wie es mal gedacht war: ein wundervolles selbst saniertes Studio im Haus des Hosts in einem ruhigen, von Touristenmassen weitgehend verschonten Dorf. Durch Ian haben wir nicht nur das Dorf und seine Bewohner:innen (samt Bar, Taverne und Weingut), sondern auch die wunderschöne Umgebung kennen gelernt. Wenn wir noch mal nach Kreta kommen, dann dort hin!

We were really delighted with the beautiful soundings with distant view of the sea and forests and mountains. The accommodation was very fairly priced and the staff were helpful at all times. Lovely remote, pretty village with small shops, restaurants and beach 15 minute drive away. 30 minute drive to Chania old town which is worth a visit.

logement au top avec une super vu , besoin d'une voiture car sur les auteur de l'île, petit bar piscine juste en face de la villa très appréciable. Richard a sur rester patient , réactif et d'une grande aide par message. 🙂 Yuli la personne en charge du nettoyage de la piscine et de la maison et vraiment très gentils et professionnel. je retien la location et y reviendrai avec plaisir 🙂

We really enjoyed our stay and whilst I can talk lots about the island, I am going to talk about the property, it was all super clean and tidy, the kitchen had what we needed on the days we cooked there, the beds were magically comfortable- dont hesitate to book if you have a bad back- choice of softer or firmer pillows, the room could be lighter or darker to suit, there were separate air con units which worked a treat. The host communication was perfect. all I would add is a little warning opening the door into the terrace if you are not used to a door at the top of the stairs. the location is close to everything you need within 5 or 20 min walks, its nicely tucked in so its peaceful and you are away from the noise. Don't hesitate to book and enjoy!

Härligt ställe för ett större sällskap. Fyra sovrum med egna badrum och små terasser gav också möjlighet till privat tid. Lugnt läge med fantastisk utsikt. Flera restauranger och två välutrustade mataffärer på promenad avstånd. Köket hade bra utrustning, som lämpade sig för matlagning, både inomhus och ute i det fina uteköket. Den uppvärmda infinitypoolen bjöd till både simning och vattenaktiviteter. Härlig stor terass med solstolar, soffa och parasoll gav möjlighet till gemensamt chill. Också spelplanen lockade till sällskapsspel. Villans läge på brant sluttning ger möjlighet till träning. Rekommenderar att man hyr bil eller scooters för att ta sig till olika ställen. Värden fanns till hands och kunde nås på kort varsel. Rekommenderar Villa Eureka varmt och kommer gärna dit igen.

We had the most wonderful stay at Wild Pear Villa. The villa is beautiful with a fantastic view of Agia Pelagia and the sea. It was in perfect condition, super clean, stocked with everything you need. We did not have a car but it's a short walk down to a small but lovely beach where you will find a few restaurants and a mini market. A little further walk will take you to Agia Pelagia which has many more restaurants and shops. Our hosts were wonderful. Anna and Victoria quickly replied to any questions we had and their mother Olga greeted us with food, fruits and beverages which we really appreciated arriving in the evening after a long flight from New York. Lovely people and a lovely home. We honestly didn't want to leave!

Wir mussten wenige Tage vor unserer geplanten Ankunft die Buchung stornieren bzw. nach hinten umbuchen. Eigentlich stand uns 0% Rückerstattung zu - der Eigentümer hat jedoch 100% des Betrages erstattet. Er hätte sich das Geld der gesamten Buchung einfach einstreichen können - das ist ein sehr feiner Zug. Unsere Ankunft war sehr spät - trotzdem wurden wir herzlich empfangen. Inkl. ein paar Vorräten und einer Oster-Überraschung. Der Kontakt war freundlich, angenehm und nicht aufdringlich. Die Lage ist sehr schön - insbesondere, wenn man es etwas abgelegen mag und Wert auf Privatsphäre legt. Direkt neben dem Pool ist eine weitere Wiese und die Blumen blühen. Sauberkeit prima, Ausstattung top! Keine negative Kritik, 5 Sterne !

The villa was absolutely stunning! It was very clean, spacious and modern. Panagoula was an amazing host, she made us feel right at home. She welcomed us with authentic refreshments and snacks for the stay. She gave us recommendations of many local restaurants, shops and sightseeing locations, which was really helpful. The villa had a beautiful pool, bbq area(outdoor kitchen) and we loved the outdoor fireplace. The views from the villa was beautiful and peaceful. Also we would recommend Panagoula car rental service too, it was a reasonable price and very much needed to explore Crete and getting around. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone! It was definitely worth it. Panagoula really took care of us and the attitude to always help with anything made the stay so much better and memorable. Thank you again my friend :)

10/10 would recommend! Everything was according to the description and worth the price. Our apartament was clean and spacious, very well equipped for daily use. Odisseas & Evita were available and very helpful while sharing their recommendations. The town is small and rather quiet in April but the views and surroundings were most beautiful.

Wir fanden eine geschmackvoll und hochwertig ausgestattete Unterkunft mit wunderbar bequemen Betten vor. Auf dem gemütlichen Sofa auf der Terrasse haben wir die Sonnenuntergänge genießen können. Unseren Mietwagen (für Ausflüge sehr zu empfehlen) parkten wir in der Garage direkt unter der Wohnung. Theseus Beach Village ist eine idyllische, gepflegte Anlage mit Pool und Strand, die sehr beschaulich ist. Simos war immer schnell über zu erreichen und sehr freundlich. Es war eine sehr schöne Zeit in seinem Haus.

House was lovely and Minoas was terrific looking after us. Loads of recommendations for activities and alway available if we had any questions. A pleasure staying in his beautiful villa.

Fantastic experience start to finish. Minoas, the host, was communicative, welcoming, super helpful and very friendly. The villa was beautiful, just like the photos, and the views were stunning. The local beach is a great place to walk to and there are lots of bars situated there which also serve yummy food. Easy to drive to (rent a car if you’re flying into chania and want to explore more of the island) and very safe. Definitely recommend!!

Our stay at Villa Theano in Triopetra was exceptional! The Etouri team was very professional, helpful, and ensured smooth communication from start to finish. The owner of the villa was so kind and generous, making our stay unforgettable with thoughtful touches that made us feel truly welcomed. The regular housekeeping service and towel changes were wonderful details that made our experience feel like a wonderful hotel stay, adding an extra layer of comfort. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a delightful fruit basket, olive oil, and a bottle of wine, which made for such a warm and special welcome. The villa itself is a peaceful paradise with breathtaking views and beautiful surroundings, perfect for those seeking a serene escape. We highly recommend Villa Theano to anyone looking for a tranquil escape in the South of Crete, and we would love to be back!

Ein super schöne Villa mit allem was es fù einen schönen Urlaub braucht. Sowohl die Küche als auch die Bäder und das Gym sind bestens ausgestattet. Auch an Kinder wird gedacht (Hocker in Küche und Bad, extra Kindergeschirr…). Die Außenanlage ist super gepflegt und man kann den ganzen Tag sowohl Sonne als auch Schatten finden. Die Straße die vor dem Haus langgeht ist wahrnehmbar, kann aber gut ausgeblendet werden. Wir waren eine Woche dort und wären gerne länger geblieben.

We really loved our stay at Galini Breeze which was last stop on our honeymoon trip. We were made to feel very welcome by Serhat on arrival and throughout our time both Serhat and Hamza were super friendly hosts. They also provided us with some great recommendations on secluded beaches to visit. The hotel itself was lovely, with beautiful pool area overlooking the Mount Ida in one direction and the coast. Rooms were very contemporary with lovely private balconies. It was nice how they had thought about everything, and even had a washing machine, a selection of beach toys/ sun umbrellas. While a bit touristy we enjoyed Agia Galini, plus it is an amazing base to explore if you have access to a hire car and don't mind the hills. Other than that the driving was fine. Thanks

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Kamilari und können die Villa Nepenthe von ganzem Herzen empfehlen. Die Lage am Hügel mit Blick auf die umliegenden Täler und das Meer ist gigantisch. Von der Dachterrasse aus lässt sich der Sonnenuntergang hervorragend beobachten während der Garten mit Pool zum Entspannen einlädt. Die Villa ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet. Jeroen und Maja haben mit viel Liebe zum Detail einen fabelhaften Ort geschaffen. Der Kontakt mit den Beiden war sehr herzlich und auch die Übergabe mit Katerina so sympathisch, dass wir uns auf Anhieb wohl gefühlt haben. Wir wären gerne länger hier geblieben!
