Laura’s place is absolutely amazing. Upon seeing the photos, of course we were excited for our stay. However, they do no justice to how beautiful it really is. The place sits on a ridge overlooking everything, so the views are unreal. Not only that, the rooms and details of the house are some of the best I’ve seen. To top it off, Laura was always very polite and quick to respond to anything we needed. If you’re going to stay in this area, this has to be one of the best options around. Thank you again, Laura!

The house is spacious and clean, the lake view is beautiful, and the kitchen and dining room are fully equipped and convenient.

The pictures don’t do service for this amazing home - views are breath taking and the amenities were beyond what you expect. Very comfortable and welcoming - we were greeted with lots of plants and holiday touches that make the space warm and inviting. Laura was very responsive and accommodating. For travelers not familiar with the area from Locarno Station try and take bus 312 which will take you up the steep hills nearly directly to the home, Brione s. Munusio, B Val Resa. Bus 2 is also available but you’ll have to get off at Brione S. Munusio, Chiesa and walk up the hill. Highly recommend you download both SBB Mobile app and Rome2Rio. This is a must : walk down the hill from the house and eat at Osteria Piccola Posta - you’ll be greeted by Beatrice with a glass of wine and lays potato chips. All are welcomed to us ! They have amazing stroganoff, fondu and pesto gnocchi - don’t forget the grape sorbet. A trip worth repeating !!!

Great place to stay with a beautiful view

This place is amazing and very unique. It is big and comfortable and close to great places to visit in the area. Even in winter it was good in terms of temperature and if needed, there are several heaters and a fire place. Definitely recommend it!

We loved our stay in the casa. It was very cozy and comfortable!

If you’re looking for an authentic Ticino grotto, look no further! Laura’s place will take you back in time without sacrificing modern day necessities. The home is quite spacious and perfect for entertaining. But if quiet time is what you’re after, there are many nooks to curl up with a book, and a TV den perfect for a movie night. Since we booked over Christmas, we were pleasantly surprised to find a decorated tree and faux fireplace heater upon our arrival. So thoughtful. And although it kept us nice and toasty, do know that the floors are stone, so I recommend bringing your house slippers. Oh and do walk down to the little village. There is the cutest restaurant bar that stays open until 1am! Very friendly staff. Try the tiramisu. Enjoy!

This wonderful accommodation left nothing to be desired. A jewel, decorated with love. Everything I needed was there ... and much more, which surprised me incredibly positively. I give 120 points out of 100 points!

The place is amazing! The view is breathtaking and the house is very clean and comfy (better than it is in photos). We loved the contrast made between palm trees and the mountains covered by snow. Definetely we’ll come back when we’ll visit Switzerland.

Great villa, an hour dive to some ski sites or to some mountains around, some minuts drive from the lake. some nice resrorants are near by. Comferable living room with a large screen TV, nice fire place and fully equiped kitchen. The heating is not visable but very effective. Highly recomended.

Great place, great value ! 10 minutes from the center of Locarno, this house offers fantastic volumes and spaces with a lot of comfort ! Although we did not meet Laura in person, everything was arranged very clearly for the check-in and she did respond very quickly to my messages. Very spacious house with spectacular views of Lake Maggiore. Small flat: the house is not perfectly soundproofed, we heard a bit from the residents of the other apartment.

We had a wonderful time in Petras Rustico! The cottage is beautifully situated and we could enjoy great sunny autumn days. Perfect for anyone who wants to escape the stress of everyday life!

A wonderful little house! Unfortunately, we did not have the stove under control, but cooking on the fire outside was a hit! Take a gas stove, we would go back.

We spent 3 wonderful nights in Rustico. If you are looking for peace, seclusion and relaxation is just right. Before you book the Rustico you should read the information carefully. Since there is no electricity, we have taken the following things: cooler, gas stove and power banks. These turned out to be very valuable for us, as a wood stove is not always easy to use. Heated with a fireplace, also means wood chopping (which we thought was great!). The house is on a mountain, due to the bad condition of the road you can not get to the house with a car that is too deep. 4x4 it does not necessarily just a not too deep spoiler. If you do not have it is not a problem, the car can easily park on the edge of the forest and you can the remaining way about 200-300m. to walk. I was very curious about the negative comments on the Rustico and was consistently positively surprised! It's perfect for a relaxed weekend away from commitments. The trails start almost next to the house and you can hear virtually all day just the sound of the stream. The neighbors are very nice and helped us out with bread on Sundays. It's a really great experience for people who are looking for the simple. I can only recommend it! We will definitely be back! :)

I already knew the "al Grott" and that's how it was clear to me - I would have prepared myself beforehand, I can only drive to the hut with the SUV or walk about 500m. I parked my Skoda right after the bridge. And it needs good footwear. It's not a place for sandals or flip flops, but this should be clear. And you carry your stuff up to the Rustico if you do not own an SUV. What also belongs to courtesy - you imagine the neighbors. This makes everything easier if you need help or a tip. I was pleasantly surprised if this little Rustico. I appreciated the bathroom very much. I really liked the homely light at various positions in the house. The bed perfetto and the sofa. I would rent this Bijoux maximum two with possibly a teenager, otherwise it is too narrow. wlan - in front of the house no problem. Powerbank for those who can not resist. Sun loungers and chairs are also available. The fireplace is fantastic and take along for this is a MUST. I would not use the stove and I highly recommend taking a small gas stove for cooking. For romantics and I am one - two-three candles are beautiful. Spices have it. An emergency ration spaghetti, sauce, tea, pans, pots, trowels, dishes - a real broom would be something else. I took an aperitif with the neighbors. It's clear that you imagine. I also introduced myself in the, al Grott, there I recommend the excellent cheese fondue along with the meat from the grill. We will be back, because it is just the simple, what we appreciated in the area and at the Rustico. Away from the hectic traffic in the valley below. Just be, look and do nothing. It was very comfortable. We will be back.

An absolute gem high above Locarno / Minusio! The journey is adventurous, but worth it! Petra's cottage is a charming little nest on the edge of civilization. Perfectly located, for those who like to get along with little. No Wi-Fi, little mobile phone network, no sockets, no fridge. But: solar power for the light, wood stove in the kitchen and fireplace in the living area, great shower with hot water, rushing stream, fireflies, birdsong, wildflowers, beach chairs, 2 fine Grotti nearby, great walks right outside the front door. If necessary take with you: gas cooker, espresso maker, coolbox. Petra is a great hostess and always available for a hitch. Great!

Very calm cookie. The Rustico is like a dream. The kitchen is my absolute highlight as a chef .. To begin something awkward but then you can do magic and feel empathy with the mountains and their problems. Would be very happy to stay a second time in this paradise

We went to Danielas' place for about a week and just had an amazing time. Her lovely Grandma, who lives above the apartment was super friendly, helpful and thoughtful. She explained us everything and shared the story about the place and herself with us. The apartment is beautiful and has everything one needs to have a great holiday. The location is outstanding. You open the door of the apartment and have one of the most amazing views in town. You overlook Lago di Garda and the small town Minusio. You can even see until the Italian border. Overall I would highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for beautiful days in Ticino. Thanks again for everything!

Large rooms, great terrace, sensational views

We were allowed to spend a great and beautiful holiday week in this accommodation which we will never forget. The elevated position with this fantastic view of the lake and mountains is overwhelming. The grandparents of Daniela the host, also live in the house and we have got to know them as very nice and courteous people. For family reasons we could only stay for a week. With another vacation, we will certainly spend a longer time here. Everything is available in the household, everything! There is nothing missing. Everything is clean and well maintained. Absolutely fantastic view over Locarno. Pure relaxation!! Sun loungers are available and you can just relax with this magnificent view and the proximity to Italy. Totally dear and uncomplicated hosts who give great tips and can be reached quickly if you have any questions. We felt very comfortable. This is really an enchanting place and the neighbors are totally friendly and relaxed and open to a chat. We will come back when it is a bit warmer, although we could already eat and relax very well for the season. Even the magnolias in the garden are already blooming. How it will be in spring / summer ... really great!

Astrid's apartment is perfect for a holiday on Lake Maggiore or Ticino. The apartment was super clean and is equipped with everything you could ask for. Highlight is definitely the terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore. It is super quiet and you can relax wonderfully. The only drawback was the bed, as it squeaked with every little movement ... The apartment is located above Locarno, but there are about every hour down buses, so you do not have to move the car necessarily. Of course, anyone who has leisure time can also walk - there are many small stairs so that you do not have to take every curve (like driving). There are a handful of restaurants in about 10 minutes walk - we have not tried this, however, since Astrid's kitchen is perfectly equipped and the Swiss prices are not without. Otherwise, the location is ideal for excursions to the Diga di Verzasca dam, the Verzasca Valley, the Monti di Lego, the Maggia Valley (eg with the (e-) mountain bike) and much more. All in all a clear recommendation! We felt very comfortable!

The studio of Astrid and Lazlo is wonderfully quiet. The location is perfect for trips to the Maggia Valley or the Verzasca Valley and Locarno is even within walking distance. And if it rains, a movie about Netflix can be watched. For us the perfect vacation!

The pretty apartment is located just above Locarno and we could enjoy the magnificent, flower-covered terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore every day. The communication in advance was uncomplicated, the apartment itself very functional and tastefully decorated. For 2 people and a week holiday was enough space. We really enjoyed the week there and got to know the hostess personally. She helped us with questions and problems helpful. Thank you very much!

our stay with David was very nice. He received us very kindly. He is very hospitable and has always thought that we are satisfied and that we have everything. He took care of breakfast and asked what we would like to eat. He was more than an airbnb host. He also brought us fruit and warm water when we needed it. He offered us a tasty dinner, with even tastier wine and salami. He made us feel like we would be home. We had great conversations with David and his friends, although we didn't speak English very well, he told us very exciting stories and communicated very nicely with us. The 700 year old house is small but very cozy and unique and the place was very quiet and beautiful and the stone houses were like in a fairy tale book. Thank you David

Staying at Andrei's place was way more than what I expected! It had the most beautiful scenery and the location was easy to get to and not far from a bus stop. The best location (everything you need in easy walking distance plus a great parking option for just 9€/24 hours) possible in Locarno for a super attractive price. The structure is not very recent, but nothing is missing in the room. It is comfortable and well kept. The entrance coincides with the entrance of the hotel (it is not specified): if you follow street number 1 of the street indicated as the address, you will reach a door whose access is allowed only to customers with the key and at night time. Recommended.

A simple room in a rustico in Val Versasca. Very quiet place and very hospitable landlord. In a few minutes you are at the river and can hike this upstream and downstream. For one or two nights a nice place to stay. I will gladly come again.

Authentic, sweet Rustico in a quiet village right on the river! Toilets and showers are available, but you have to walk 2 minutes to the main house to use them. The hosts lovingly take care of the well-being of the guests. All in all a wonderful experience!

This place is magical! You get the feeling of living in Ticino two centuries ago. The nature around you is incredible. The room is as described, rustical but clean and lovely. Jeanne the mother of the host who welcomed us, was super friendly and welcoming!

The rustico is just as advertised -very romantic. The nice lady that lives next to it let us use her bathroom and offered us coffe up on arrival. She also made us breakfast the next day where we were free to pay as much as we liked. We're already palnning our next trip to Val Verzasca

Exactly what we wanted; charming place, brilliant accommodation and great hosts. Everything was silent, down to the smallest detail. Definitely recommendable - the perfect break.

The Capolino is beautifully renovated and wonderfully decorated. The Rustico is sparkling clean and equipped with everything you need. Alice and Alfred are very courteous hosts - we received an immediate response to every message and were even picked up from the train station in Locarno! Brione is easily accessible by public transport during the day, the bus station in the immediate vicinity of the Rustico and the view is magnificent. We can only recommend staying at the Capolino.

The beautiful photos do not promise too much: A truly wonderful traditional Ticino stone house restored with great attention to detail and stylishly furnished. High above Lake Maggiore we were able to enjoy the great hospitality of Alice & Alfred as well as the special charm of the historic village center. Alice and Alfred are very welcoming hosts. The AirBnB is lovingly decorated and very well equipped - you feel right at home. Everything was fine, including the surrounding area and the Ticino for hiking and other excursions.

This place is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The views are stunning, the hike to get there is exhilarating, and the cabin itself is just adorable. If you're looking for a digital detox, off-the-grid, Isolation Level 10 experience, this is the answer. It was exactly what I needed for my solo self-care recovery retreat. One piece of advice: make sure you know how to start a wood burning fire! I figured it out pretty quickly, but you'll need that skill!

On foot you can quickly get to the center of Locarno (10 min). The bus stop for other excursions is also nearby (e.g. bus 321, directly into the Verzasca Valley). It was perfect, we would love to come back!

What a cute place. Check in was a breeze and everything we needed was there at our fingertips. When I couldn’t figure out the mobile WiFi, Davide was there to help in a moments notice. The location was great, with town just a few blocks away. Which is super important in a place that doesn’t have Uber yet, and taxi’s are quite expensive. Everything was super clean with very thoughtful touches. There were even fresh croissants in the fridge for the morning! Yum. Looking forward to our next stay.

Woooo. This is really really really a nice choose have this house as our last resting place, we even changed our plan back home earlier just for the nice view in the morning, nightfall and evening. So so so nice view of the house!But Werner and his wife is warm treat really touch me; they respect the private space won't to bother you ,but give you the treat in the small details, really make me impressive. also their lovly dog, i guess called COCO, so cute!

Werner and Katrin are gracious, friendly and welcoming hosts and their place is beautiful and in a stunning setting with panoramic views over Lake Maggiore. Their suggestions of places and restaurants to visit were excellent. We wished we could have stayed longer and warmly recommend staying there to anyone visiting the area.

We would definitely come back! The house is beautiful, stunning views from the bedroom and with a nice garden to enjoy the landscape. Katrin and Werner are great hosts, they were flexible will our arrival and they always replied very promptly. The area is great, lots of nice hikings areas around and also near to the lake.

Cheap clean accommodation. Centrally located. Noisy depending on the event in Piazza Grande.

We loved the little hotel! Everything clean and it just has its own charm. We had a great balcony. Restaurant is also highly recommended, super delicious pizza.

Frankly not possible to be as well placed in Locarno and for this price. In 10 sec you are in Piazza Grande. The central parking is 3 minutes walk and all the shops of primary need.

The flat is small and basic, but has all the amenities needed: a sofa bed, fairly well equipped kitchen with a table, a bathroom with a shower, little balcony. No Wifi and no TV, however. Located at the little Piazza del Solduno with a bakery next door. Very close to the station of the train line Domodossola–Locarno (4 min. walking), the train taking you in 5 Minutes to the main train station in Locarno. Walking distance to the Locarno upper old town: 15 minutes, to the Piazza Grande: approx. 18–20 minutes. Di as a host has been very kind and very helpful. She provided me with advice for good cafés (with Wifi) in Locarno. If you don’t mind the short walk to Locarno, I can only recommend the flat and Dina as a host.

We only stayed one night but it was lovely! The other guests were friendly, the grounds are nice, the room was clean and they have hammocks outside each room to lounge in! They have AC and it worked wonderfully and was a must while we stayed. Gregor is super friendly and full of helpful information regarding the area - directions, suggestions on what to see, amd he has reference material to provide you. Overall it was absolutely wonderful and we only stayed one night wish it was more but I would and will stay there again in the future!

Quiet place despite the nearby road, tip-top cottage and excellent meals. Train and bus nearby so convenient if you have no car to visit Locarno, Ascona and do some excursions. Staff caring.

Even though i booked the wrong dates Andrei was very helpful and let us stay the night after we actually booked. The room was very cosy and when the sun is shining it really is a wonderful place in close proximity to Ascona and Locarno

5* Look no further, this is the BEST place to stay in Ticno. Perfectly located for visiting all of the local attractions. Bellinzona, Locarno, lugano and Valle verzasca are all near by and easily accessible by public transport or a short drive. My room was very clean, spacious, presented to a very high standard and had an amazing view of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is also a very nice communal area/bar great for relaxing or getting some work done Andrei and his family were exceptional hosts, did everything they could to make my stay as nice as possible. Truely unbelievable value for money and one of the nicest places I've stayed. 10/10 would recommend.

Loved the place, it was tiny, clean, charming, cheap. I took a little trip by myself and the room was perfect for me to just sleep. Loved the big balcony, I could sit there, smoke my cigarettes and watch the people on the piazza. If you are someone like me, you will enjoy lying in bed and hearing people outside talking and laughing. If you however need quiet to fall asleep, consider a place that is not situated directly at the piazza. For me it was a great experience, the place was very simple and it had a very romantic vibe to it. I will totally recommend it to anyone who loves life.

Our stay in Minusio was great! Doris welcomed us warmly and explained everything well. The studio is also suitable for a stay with a baby. Noteworthy are the various terraces with a bombastic view! Highly Recommended!

Really nice and modern stay, all you need is available. There is a gas station shop right next to it or two bigger supermarkets at a 10min walk. The bus station to Locarno/Tenero is also right next to it and if you want to go to the beautiful lake just walk down approximately 10min and enjoy the nice Navegna lake walk. Will be back for shure more often. Thanks

This is an ideal apartment during the Film Festival in Locarno, as it is within walking distance from Piazza Grande. We also enjoyed walking along the lake to town. The apartment is in the ground floor, so the windows have to be closed because of security and traffic noise. Otherwise everything perfect!

We were pleased to stay at Daniel‘s place. It was very clean and neat. Within a few minutes drive from downtown Locarno.

I will need to come back in a holiday mode. It's a very nice place, and I am sure in summer the sun makes it even more special. Lara was very accommodating, she even brought me a microwave and a coffee machine so I could have breakfast in the room.

Lara and Ulla are such lovely hosts. They make every effort to make you feel welcome. Having them around for breakfast was a delight! The house itself is amazing! What a view!
