  • This cute & cozy Airbnb exceeded my expectations! Amanda hosted me & my puppy during COVID when we needed a hiking escape to Shenandoah. The place was much larger than expected and the personalized touches were so thoughtful. The location can’t be beat because you’re extremely close to many hiking trails. My puppy loved the huge yard and field to run around in. This is a perfect place to stay for solo travelers or couples. Would come back again! :)

  • Great location with lots of thoughtful touches. Space is larger than described With two distinct sleeping areas. Great for traveling with a kid. Kitchenette and toiletries are particularly well stocked if you need anything. When I asked questions Amanda went above and beyond to answer.

    Nina2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place. It was sparkling clean and she had a lot of nice touches and little extras. We would highly recommend the place.

    Robin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific place that feels very private. The amenities were amazing and we had everything that we needed for the weekend!

    Jacob2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic suite over their garage! Spent the weekend there - great kitchenette, huge bedroom area, and bathroom has anything you forgot! Definitely would stay there again for a trip to Shenandoah.

  • Absolutely amazing location, such a beautiful spot. Loved our stay here and would definitely return in the future!

    Jessica2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as described, a unique little apartment tucked in rural Virginia. The instructions provided were really helpful to find the house off the highway. It was a bit cold when we arrived, and the floor board heating units are slow to heat, but it eventually did get warmer and cozy. A great spot if you’re looking to explore breweries or wineries nearby. It’s a bit of a stretch from Charlottesville (~40 minute drive), but it’s a pretty drive. Overall worth its value! It’s a bit small, so suggest being under 5’9” to be comfortable throughout the apartment, due to low ceilings. Would recommend! Thanks!

  • This Airbnb is phenomenal! My girlfriend and I came here to social distance and work from “home” and enjoyed our stay immensely.

  • The place was absolutely wonder and perfect for our trip to Shenandoah! I would highly recommend staying here!

  • The space was clean and accessible with great amenities. Robin was awesome at responding and answered all the questions we had in a prompt manner. The spot they have is absolutely beautiful!

    Aleksandra2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Robin’s. Being spring, it was a beautiful time to see more of the farm- we were able to take a walk around, see the bird life and study the plants. Very peaceful, and we love the views of the Blue Ridge!

    Ross2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robin’s place was great! It was super clean and it was the perfect place to stay for a quiet, relaxing getaway. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

Cozy, log cabin with mountain views, near wineries, Shenandoah National Park, and Charlottesville. For the business traveler, we are located 10 minutes from IIHS, 15 minutes from NGIC and 20 minutes from the Charlottesville airport.
We live in a log home on 10 acres with beautiful mountain views! We look forward to welcoming you to stay at our newly built guest log cabin! Since we do live next door, we can easily be reached if any need arises. We have two horses, and a donkey and love to tell all about them if you would like! Our cabin has a microwave, small refrigerator, sink, and a coffee maker.
Across the street is a dairy farm! We have the best of both worlds, a country setting with mountain views, but close enough to the cities of Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, and Culpeper. On a clear night, you can see the stars. The mountain views change with the weather, the season, and the time of day. It never gets old! Staying in a log cabin is awesome. Ruckersville and Stanardsville are small towns and have some unique shops that you won't find elsewhere. The people are so friendly.
  • Carolene's cabin is better than described! It's cozy and very clean, thoughtful touches such as q-tips and extra bath towels, awesome guidebook filled with restaurants and things to do nearby, and sweet treats available at check-in. The view was incredibly beautiful, with horses roaming the fields from our balcony and mountains in the distance. We would absolutely recommend staying here!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin, clean & cute. Being able to see the stars clearly made it even better! Gorgeous views. Definitely recommend!

    Alyssa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay! The view is GORGEOUS, close to wineries & such but far enough to feel secluded. We had plenty of privacy but the hosts were easy to reach via phone as well as in person. Would most definitely recommend Carolenes place!

    Brittany2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The check-in process was seamless, the views were spectacular, and the cabin was both well-appointed and immaculately clean. This is the perfect place for a peaceful weekend out in the country.

    Lucas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Carolene’s cabin. It was just as clean as it was last year, when we stayed. We love staying here because it’s in the middle of all of our favorite wineries.

    Lauren2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a fantastic location! Clean and comfortable. Everything we needed and expected!

    Ryan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

TriCreek Farm Yurts are a private camping experience. This cozy yurt has been outfitted with a bunk-bed, wood stove/heater, and an open floor plan for additional sleeping bags. Get away from the daily grind and let your worries float away. There are multiple creeks, river, and hiking/biking trails.
This ~100 acre forested property is ideal for hikers, adventurers, and families wanting to experience the outdoors. Stay of just the weekend or a week long getaway from the hustle and bustle. You’ll be miles away from city noise, so only the birdsong, the sound of streams, and the wild.
Madison Virginia has plenty of places to eat, drink, and relax. Here are a few of our favorites spots - Bald Top Brewing Co., Prince Michel Vineyard and Winery, Mad Local American Eatery, Bavarian Chef, Old Rag Mountain, and many more spots.
  • This was one of the coolest Air Bnb experiences i have had. Really cool place to stay and great place to get away.

    Dustin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ali's yurt was beautiful! Unforuantemy due to the weather, we couldn't stay our entire trip duration but he was so communicative and accommodating. We definitely expect to rebook when the weather gets warmer! The yurt is located on a huge farm and is surrounded by woods with a creek facing the back. We wish we couldve stayed the entire trip but it was really cold. We appreciate Ali for being a great host and would highly recommend

    Reuben2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • SO. DANG. CUTE. A wonderful little get-away from civilization, and the surrounding town is quaint and adorable. Only about 20 miles from Shenandoah national park. The wood stove does NOT give off much heat, so if you stay in the winter time it will be extremely chilly. I had a ton of layers and two blankets with the wood stove going and was still frozen to the core!! But Ali is great and is property/yurts are beautiful and well-kept.

    Kacy2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ali’s yurt was awesome! It’s on a beautiful property, perched on a ledge overlooking a beautiful little creek. We didn’t have the time to explore much of the property, but we did follow the creek down to the river, which was a lot of fun. This would be a perfect place in the spring or early summer for a small family, or some friends to come relax away from it all, do some fishing, hiking, or just enjoying nature. The yurt itself was awesome - Ali has it well stocked with some camping essentials, and the beds were very comfortable. It actually ended up raining super hard one night we were there, and we stayed warm and dry inside, courtesy also of the little wood stove. I would advise bringing some fire starters for the stove and the pit outside, as the wood could be somewhat wet. We really enjoyed our experience and will be back!

This is my weekend retreat/cabin on White Oak Lake. Happy to share it with other outdoor enthusiasts who must have positive Airbnb histories. Wood burning stove backing up heat pump for chilly nights. Loft and cozy den. Fully equipped kitchen. Washer/dryer. Over-look the slight lived in appearance. If you don’t think you can, this isn’t the place you want to rent. Make beds upon arrival, strip beds upon departure. Deposit linens in laundry room. Wash and put away dishes. Take trash with you.
Beautiful lake view from large windows and deck. Plenty of space to relax. Private loft area. Large living room overlooking the lake. Cabin sits on the side of a hill. Might be a challenge to get up and down if you are not fit or reasonably ambulatory.
Beautiful lake view from cabin. Abundant wildlife. Scenic drive. Abundant hiking trails close by. Cozy, comfortable cabin. New kitchen and bath. Kayaks and private dock for lake access. Great fishing. Again, this is where I go to get away from it all and relax. Expect it to feel lived in with my stuff about. If you are looking for more of a hotel experience, maybe try a different property. I’m constantly improving the property with new decking and pathway to the lake. If construction debris might upset you, again, maybe skip this property and book elsewhere.
  • Very secluded place that has a nice feel to it. Lots of kayaks and more for water activities.

    Robbie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Echoing other reviews—Jeff’s place was perfect for a getaway from the city. Cozy, relaxing, unexpected amenities which just made the place feel more homey (coffee bean grinder, stocked kitchen, space heaters in every room). Jeff was very responsive to our messages with questions. Make sure to double check directions and bring lots of firewood. Would definitely stay again!

    Maia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was easy to get to and felt private despite being close enough to amenities. It was very cozy, without the sterile “IKEA” feel many AirBNB properties have; it felt more like visiting family than staying at a hotel. Overall a great space!

    Amelia2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s place is an amazing find! It’s his space, so definitely lived in, but if you’re ok with that it’s a great getaway!

    Jennie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place is fantastic. It is very secluded at the end of a long mountain lake. The cabin and deck are very thoughtfully laid out. The space was super cozy and perfect for getting away from the city to relax for a few days. We were there in the winter, so we didn't get to do much by the lake, but we spent plenty of time snuggled up on the couch with a fire going in the cast-iron stove in the living room. The hot tub also looks out over the lake, which was lovely in the cold mountain air. In addition, we got moderately lost trying to find the cabin on our first night, and Jeff was very responsive and helpful over the phone in helping us find our way there. In sum, we highly recommend Jeff as a host and Jeff's place as a quiet, comfy and relaxing getaway. We plan on returning to see what it's like in the summer!

Share our 1804 farmhouse in a quiet, rural setting on a farm. Enjoy spending time with our dogs and cats or visit our chickens or horses or the neighbor's cows. Admire the traditional wood floors and tin ceiling.
You will stay in the private, upstairs bedroom in the original part of the house and have the downstairs bathroom to yourself while you're here. You are welcome to walk around the farm, sit on the picnic table by the fire pit or sit on the classic, southern front porch or the side veranda.
Less than 15 minutes to some great restaurants in either Orange or Madison as well as various wineries in the larger area. 25-30 minutes to Culpeper and less than 45 minutes to Charlottesville and easy day trips to the Blue Ridge/Shenendoah, etc.
  • Kate and her family were outstanding hosts. They were friendly and knowledgeable and made sure I felt at home. Their group of animals were very friendly as well and made the stay that much better

    Victoria2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's home was wonderful. A warm and comfortable farmhouse, and a haven for animal lovers. Kate and her family were so kind and generous from the moment we arrived. Would definitely stay again in the future.

  • Lovely home and property. Kate and her mother were very welcoming and we enjoyed talking to them. Great stay, definitely recommend.

    Cameron2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Kate’s. Delicious breakfast of fresh eggs, meeting all the friendly animals, beautiful morning sunrise run & bike ride (3 bluebirds spotted!), and great conversation! Will be stopping by again if ever in the area.

    Matthew2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I have only wonderful things to say about my stay here. When I drove up Ias greeted by Kate and her husband and their adorable dogs. She showed me around the place and made me feel at home. The farm house is old, charming and quaint. The upstairs bed room I stayed in was cozy and comfy with everything I needed for a relaxing night. There was also a thoughtful stash of toiletries in case I had forgotten anything. Kate and her family are so nice and welcoming and I enjoyed talking to them in the morning at breakfast. They have a host of friendly animals that were fun to pet and play with. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in the area!

    Rebekah2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kate, her husband Sean, and her mother are extremely kind and hospitable. They opened their home to my girlfriend and I, offering us pizza, hard cider, and an inpromtu board game night. We couldn't have asked for a more welcoming place to stay. Oh, and yes, the cats and dogs are wonderful too. I would highly recommend this place to friends.

    Jordan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is clean and comfortable, and the farm is delightful. We got to meet her horses, chickens, dogs, and cats, and had a wonderful stay!

  • Such a cool little place to stay!

    Eddie2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Patti's tiny house was a wonderful experience. The house was impeccably clean, and had many nice cozy touches. The fridge/pantry were stocked full of snacks, condiments, spices, and anything else you could need. The best part was all the outdoor amenities... including three fire pits, a BBQ, and plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Patti has a book full of tips for hiking and other activities to do in the area. She is an amazing host who was always so quick to respond to us and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We are looking forward to returning to stay with Patti again very soon!

    Anna2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Patti was amazing with communication and so sweet. She let us stay after the checkout time because she didn’t have anyone else checking in that day. The tiny home was so adorable and really felt like home. We can’t wait to come back again and stay here! Thanks so much Patti!

  • Patti’s tiny house was our first time staying in a tiny house, and our first time using an AirBnb. She took extra time to explain everything to us while checking in, and made herself available to us throughout our stay. Her tiny house has everything you could think of, and probably more. We literally could of showed up without anything and had all else needed throughout our stay! We can’t wait to go back!

  • What a great place to get away to! So peaceful and close to lovely hikes and wineries. Gail was awesome to work with!

    Tania2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Frog Jump! It was such a cute, cozy, and well thought out cottage! We definitely recommend it 👍🏼

    Leo2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This space is lovely! The area is beautiful, and Gail was wonderfully communicative to make sure the cottage was easy to find and access. It’s just enough space for one or two people, with all the comforts of home and then some. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed with a super comfy bed! I hope to be able to return!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is so lovely, clean, bright, and homey! The location is great - close to Charlottesville and Shenandoah. Gail is an attentive and caring host, and has added thoughtful little touches all over the cottage. We had a very restful stay and highly recommend this house!

    Cosima2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Frog Jump is such a cozy little spot for anyone wanting some time to themselves to relax. The property is great and in a great spot just on the other side of Charlottesville Airport. It’s only a 15 min drive to Charlottesville and a lovely drive in itself! The bed was even one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Highly recommend!

    Amy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing stay. Wonderful location, beautiful space, incredibly thoughtful host. I would absolutely LOVE to come stay again!

    Joshua2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the most thoughtful and truly wonderful Airbnb I’ve stayed in. It’s obvious that Gail put a ton of thought into the space, from the toiletries to the items in the fridge (cream for coffee, various condiments). The bed was cozy and comfy, water is nice and hot, the view from the porch and bed are serene, and we adored the chairs by the pond. It’s a perfect retreat in the woods without having to camp!

In the heart of the Shenandoah mountains. 1 mile from White Oak Canyon and Old Rag. Perfect for the fly fisherman (lots of local streams or in the back yard is the Robinson River) or a nice quiet get-away for a couple. Once you park your car you can sit back and just listen to the river flowing in the back yard and enjoy a nice beverage next to the fire pit.
Shower, toilet and sink. Futon for sleeping. Refrigerator, microwave, 2 top hot pot, grill, cooking utensils, plates and silverware. Bring a pack and play for your baby. Or just sit outside and listen to the river flowing in the back yard.
  • Had a really good time at the cabin. Christa and her family were very pleasant and provided a very tranquil place with a short river trail to walk down. They had some good information on the local hikes that helped us choose our activities well. Unfortunately things are very limited due to the pandemic but there are still places to explore. Grill, firewood, cooking appliances and cookware were all available (coffee as well). The relaxed atmosphere in and around this cabin were an excellent value and worth far more in terms of restorative time away from the city. I definitely appreciate the accommodations they provided and would return without hesitation.

  • This place is beautiful. The cabin is small and quaint. Everything was clean and comfortable. The best part is the outdoor space. There is a beautiful little pathway around the property that overlooks the creek, a perfect little sitting rock for viewing and a nice little creek pool to soak your feet. We enjoyed walking the path with our pup as we soaked up some nature. The fire pit offered a great place to sit for dinner and conversation. We had everything we needed to cook a full meal. Our stay was short but we will definitely be back. This was one of my favorites stays so far. Great for the adventurous spirit.

  • Great cabin right on the river. Very peaceful and located in a great location near the mountains.

    Annie2020-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing tiny house in the mountain! Stream and river within 100 ft of the house makes it perfect for fly fishing or dogs who love to swim.

    Ever2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, just as advertised. Christa was incredibly responsive and helpful, offering fishing suggestions and even lending some last minute groceries when asked. Will certainly be back!

    Cabot2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • 100% the best mountainside getaway money can buy! Will recommend to all our friends. My girlfriend and I decided to get away on a moments notice and stumbled upon this listing- so happy we did! The space was perfect to feel like you’re in the wilderness but without the hassles of isolation. Crista and her family were very kind, welcoming, and gave us one of our best weekend vacations yet!

    Matt2020-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin with all the basic amenities in an out of the way, location close to great hiking and beautiful surroundings. Loved hearing the sound of the water in the creek at night.

There are stairs (not to access your space, but in or near your apartment).
Less than 30 minutes to the entrance of Shenandoah National Park, Charlottesville is 20 minutes away. You can reach Downtown Charlottesville in 30 minutes or less. We live in a quiet rural neighborhood. Our property is located back from the road, so traffic noise is minimal. You might see (and hear) horses and sheep on the property across the street, and occasionally hear coyotes in the distance. The local grocery store and convenience store, along with several restaurants are four miles away. We are also 15 minutes away from the small local airport, so you may hear the occasional plane flying overhead. There is a lovely park directly adjacent to the airport with a boating lake open for swimming and boat rentals in the summer, a fishing dock, and walking trails.
  • Great host! Right in the middle of everything and close to stores and food! Fishing close by and short drive to mountains. Everything was very clean and cozy and the hot tub was amazing

  • Quick response ! Great place!

    Laura2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great get away space. It reminded me of a college kid set up (In a cool way) definitely a place better to order/pick up food than try to do a lot of cooking onsite.

    Elisabeth2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! I would definitely stay again! The dogs were very well behaved!

    Kimberly2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Maria's Airbnb is a fantastic spot to stay! The basement area that she is has is very cozy with a working TV, pool table, and wifi. The hottub outside is on for the entirety of your stay 24/7 and is great. Easy access to shanendoah. Only thing of note is that there is no kitchen (just a minifridge, a toaster, a coffeemaker and a microwave), so this is not the place to stay if you want to cook your own meals. Highly recommend!

    Jeremy2020-04-13T00:00:00Z

Beautifully renovated 1800's historic cabin on 5 acres of rolling hills. This 800+ square foot cabin features gorgeous log walls, hardwood floors and new stainless appliances. Located less than 15 minutes from Downtown Culpeper, on a rural road off the highway, and near to many popular hiking trails including Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon.
The cabin sits about 100 yards from the end of the driveway off of a moderately traveled road. Trees surround the property everywhere but the front so as not to block the mountain views. It is small but open with vaulted ceilings so it feels spacious. Ultimately it is a gentle balance between modern surroundings not far from town and a rustic cabin experience.
There are cows across the street and you can barely see the neighbors in the distance between the trees. The road the cabin sits back from has a bit of regular traffic but isn't bothersome.
  • We really enjoyed our stay here! The cabin is very clean and is great for a couple's getaway. We appreciated the stocked kitchen and movie options. The location provides easy access to the mountains and outdoors, but is only ~10 minutes away from Culpeper. The cabin does not have any close neighbors, and there are views of the mountains, rolling hills, and pastures.

    Sam2020-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tabatha was quick to respond to any of my needs. Great host!

    Dan2020-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you could want and more in a cozy log cabin in the country. We spent the weekend relaxing by the fire, grilling on the deck, watching movies on netflix, and taking our motorcycle riding through the mountains. The space was comfortable and welcoming, and was absolutely ideal to spend a quiet relaxing weekend! Would stay again!

    David2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb's for couples I've been (certainly the best in this area). Spacious and thoughtfully decorated interiors with plenty of natural light. New kitchen, sparkling clean, with large island for food prep. Beautifully maintained grounds and deck with flowering trees and flower beds around the house. The house sits next to a picturesque country road, overlooking rolling hills of pastures. Perfect location to visit the area or just to wind-down and relax in the house.

    Antoni2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Magical! I felt like I was in a fairy tale. I loved the cabin so much. I spent most of my time outside listening to the birds and the wind. No complaints here!

    Rachel2020-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • 5 STARS! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back. What we loved about the cabin: - decor and thoughtful details (e.g., fresh cherry blossom flowers in vase on the office desk👌🏼) - strong WiFi and cell reception - spices and fully stocked kitchen - grill - warm marble bathroom floors - comfortable mattress - waking up to birds singing - neighboring / curious cows - 10 mins drive from downtown Culpeper, Safeway, Walmart, restaurants, etc. - responsive and friendly hostess

    Christine2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the cute cozy cabin was AMAZING! The space was wonderful and the pictures just do not do it justice. The location was perfect for my hiking and traveling needs - nestled in the mountains with a pasture of cows across the street and the Blue Ridge in the background. Tabatha was a great host and the space was fully stocked with all of the amenities you could ever need. We stocked up on food at a grocery store less than 15 minutes away, enjoyed dinner from the grill, and ended the night curled up by the fire pit. I cannot wait to plan my next adventure in the area and will for sure check to see if this cabin is available!

    Alexis2020-04-06T00:00:00Z

Quiet studio on a secluded 5 acres only 3 miles from town. Kick back and relax by the pool in the warmer months, or in the hot tub in the cooler months. Small trails lead to the creek running along the property, maybe you'll even catch a glimpse of the deer or turkey that wander thru! There is an apartment above the studio, so we ask that you be mindful of those guests if occupied.
Secluded location only 3 miles from town or 30 minutes to hiking at Old Rag or White Oak Falls, Graves Mountain Lodge, or the town of Culpeper, or 40 minutes to Charlottesville.
  • We loved our stay at the studio apartment! Was exactly what we needed. A quiet, calm and relaxing environment.

  • If you’re looking for exceptional hospitality and a cozy stay, Jennifer’s place is the spot for you! Jennifer made sure we arrived safely, greeted us with cookies and kept in contact to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We came to hike White Oak falls, which was breathtaking in itself, but roasting s’mores and watching shooting stars from the jacuzzi was definitely one of our most memorable experiences. On our last day, jens’ son surprised us with yet ANOTHER plate of cookies. We couldn’t have asked for a better host and the kittens keeping us company was the icing on the cake.

  • Jennifer's place was great! We enjoyed the quiet retreat of Dark Run, and the hot tub was great. The place was very clean and Jennifer was very responsive. Definitely recommend for a getaway!

Sweet, cozy Carriage/Farmhouse, nestled in the heart of Madison County, overlooking our beautiful farmland and mountains. We trust the front porch and view will yield some of the best sunsets you’ll ever see on the east coast! This place holds a tender spot in our hearts, where we have spent some of our best weekends. We want to share this space with you, so you’ll have a chance to unwind, disconnect from the rest of the world, and recharge as we have. Welcome and enjoy! Ali & Shawn Woodfolk
The entire house and property is yours to enjoy with private entrance and 2 plus acres of yard space!
This is our family farm, with many of the surrounding homes being family members or awesome neighbors. It is a quiet area with marginal traffic from a neighboring brewery(Bald Top). We are also conveniently located near many wineries, and great hiking!
  • It was very nice and surprising to be welcomed with music from the tv and illumination. The house is located in a private zone perfect to relax and be alone with family. The porch swing and firepit are the best part of the house. The internet was good for work and telecommuting. Thanks Ali for leaving fresh eggs from her chickens!

    Anatol2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The views are amazing, the house is very comfortable, the hosts are attentive and quick to respond! We came into town for a sad and stressful reason but being able to unwind with drinks and a beautiful view of the sunset over the mountains was just what we needed! I would absolutely recommend staying here and will hopefully get the chance to stay again!

    Lindsey2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. It’s a beautiful location on a quiet street with an amazing view from the front porch swing. The home was spotless and fully equipped with everything you might want, including incredibly comfortable living room furniture, fast WiFi and strong cell reception. We loved the fire pit in the back yard. The location is also perfect - tucked away on a farm but only minutes from a local pastry/coffee shop and farmers market (complete with petting zoo). We hope to have an opportunity to visit again soon.

  • This is a lovely little cottage with porch swing and a fire pit in the back yard. It’s super close to Early Mountain winery. Ali and her husband are wonderful and even brought us fresh eggs from the farm.

“Glamping“ experience on a huge horse and cattle farm with spectacular views. Close to Monticello, Montpelier, numerous wineries, great restaurants, Charlottesville. Gorgeous countryside. Second of three such tents grouped near one another (but not too near). Find two other couples and fill them all up.
Wolftrap Farm is a 600 acre horse and cattle farm that operates largely as a wedding venue. It has seven vacation rental homes used by our wedding parties or by others just seeking a getaway. We are adding opportunities for guests to enjoy a “glamping” experience. Our Lotus Belle Tent #2 allows you to “camp” in comfort without having to have your own gear. There are a total of 3 Lotus Belle tents, each about 40 yards from one another. We opened Tent #1 in mid-2019 and it has received great reviews. P Why is it "comfortable"? It is furnished, including Tempurpedic-type queen-sized bed, eating area, sitting area, electric lights AND air conditioning. There are two shower rooms and outstanding bathrooms at the Pavilion 50 yards away. You have use of deck chairs and a hammock. Cook on the gas grill on your deck or use the microwave in the Pavilion kitchen to heat up your meals. Also, you have shade, and the location is atop a hill where there is usually a nice breeze. The interior of the tent features a queen size bed with 10 inch thick mattress, eating area, electric lights, air-conditioning and heat, and comfortable seating. There is a gas grill on the deck and chairs for lounging. Tent guests use the spacious and comfortable bathrooms in our wedding reception pavilion 50 yards from the tent. There are also separate showers attached to the pavilion. Water is also available at the pavilion, and the refrigerators, microwaves and sinks in the caterers kitchen in the pavilion are also available to tent guests. And the views are spectacular.
The farm is sort of its own neighborhood, being 600 acres. But Gordonsville is just 4 miles away (grocery store, restaurants, etc.) and Orange is 5 miles in the other direction (County Seat, more shopping, etc.). Twenty miles from Charlottesville.
  • What a great experience! Host left some additional amenities like a propane gas grill, some extra chairs for relaxing, a hammock and towels for shower. Bed was extremely comfortable and cozy and the heaters kept me warm. Beautiful farm! Bathrooms and showers were close by and sparkling clean.

  • Wolftrap Farm was the perfect getaway! The glamping experience was one to remember. Beautiful views, great amenities, and such a peaceful place. Just about everything you need is on site and I couldn’t have had a better time. I went fishing, made a campfire, went hiking, went horseback riding across the street, and this will be first of many trips here!

Beautiful lake view cabin. 2 bedrooms one bathroom. So close to breweries, wineries, grocery store, and 20 minutes from Shenandoah National Park. You will have everything you need at our home provided for you. We have a paddleboat for you to venture out on the water and fishing poles, just bring your bait and bathing suit! We are "unplugged" at the lake, we have a TV and dvd player and plenty of movies, but do not have satellite tv or wifi. Your cell phone should have great coverage.
The 2nd bedroom is small but functional. the wood stove is not for rental use. there is heat there.
We are within 20 minutes to the Shenandoah National Park. About 3 minutes to Bald Top brewery and Early Mountain Winery.
  • The lake house was very clean and had everything we needed. The outside set up is perfect for a relaxing day on the lake with a beautiful view. Definitely worth the visit!

Our place is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, just one mile from Early Mountain Vineyard, and 15 minutes from the trails of Shenandoah National Park. This country setting is perfect for singles, couples, or a family looking to spend some time away from it all. We have lived here our entire lives, and are happy to help our guests discover everything this area has to offer. We have friendly horses, dogs and cats.
  • So far the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a beautiful house and an amazing farmland. Hedi and Steve are amazing hosts, they are so helpful and make you feel right at home. We fell in love with their dogs who are just too adorable. They have really gorgeous horses and three adorable cats as well. Had a wonderful experience.

  • Steve and Hedi were fantastic, thoughtful, and incredibly warm and generous hosts. They truly made us feel at home during our week-long stay. The space was clean and comfortable—Hedi and Steve made sure we had everything we needed. My boyfriend and I slept great thanks to the quiet and peaceful surroundings. Their farm was gorgeous and nearby to many local attractions (Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Charlottesville). Their pets are all well-trained and friendly (as well as super adorable). If you’re looking to explore Shenandoah or Virginia in general, definitely stay at Pony Chase Farm!

What Past Guests Are Saying: "First of all, no way was I expecting the chalet to have everything you needed. I was going to put it to the test. You PASSED. Everything you can imagine you would need, is there. Second, I was skeptical about having privacy or peace and quiet. It was so quiet a pin drop would be too loud. Absolutely private and quiet, we felt very safe. Third, My Husband said jesh, this is cleaner than most hotels we've stayed at. Overall we gave it "11" we will be back." -Gary and Sue V. "Lynn, Well we just got back and the first thing I had to do was e-mail you and let you know what a terrific time we had. I contacted you in hopes of finding somewhere we could get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and we got just that. Your Chalet is absolutely amazing, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. From the moment we arrived to the saddened departure it was absolutely the best time we have had in a very long time. Your directions were exact and everything worked out exactly as planned. There was nothing better than sitting on the front deck with a glass of wine listening to nothing for a change, it was The touches of home did nothing but add to that feeling and it was amazing. Thank you from both of us for allowing us to stay at your wonderful get away, I can absolutely assure you that we will be contacting you again soon many times. Finally again thank you very much we had an amazing weekend, if you EVER consider selling your property PLEASE let me know, seriously there is not a place in the world that can fulfill exactly what we were looking for like yours did." -Nick A. "What a wonderful place! I have now stayed here twice and can't wait to go back. The chalet is in a perfect location nestled in the hills and not far from great hiking, restaurants and adventure. Whether a long weekend or a week, well worth it!" -Guest Review from erik "I just wanted to leave you an email that I forgot to send a long time ago. My girlfriend and I went up there the weekend of July 21st just to get away for the weekend. What she didnt know is that after having a wonderful day horseback riding and enjoying downtown Luray I was going to propose to her. So at sunset after a wonderful dinner I proposed to her on your deck of the chalet. We had a wonderful time, loved the location, loved the chalet and would definitely go back. Thank you again!" -Jeff B. "Just right!!! We have rented many cabins in many different areas. This cabin was just right. It felt very much like home. Some cabins are too rustic, or have to many unnecessary luxuries. This cabin, met in the middle, I did not pay extra for things I did not need, and yet was very comfortable." -Len and Ri from Longwood FL "Wonderful cabin, great price! Everything you need in this nice little cabin get-away. Surrounded by woods and wildlife. Great quite place to get away, enjoy nature, see deer, and take pictures. They had everything you could think of from dishes & coffee to DVD movies. Highly recomended. Great price. Only minutes from Skyline Drive and many caverns." -Guest Review from JGdesigner "My fiance and I spent Halloween weekend in your cabin. It was beautiful! I was impressed with how stocked the place is. it was just like being at home! We visited Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive while in the area, and the cabin was convenient to both. We just wanted to thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We hope to return soon!" -Tanika M. "Nice getaway. This chalet was exactly as described. The location was beautiful and the house was clean and very affordable. Thanks for the hiking suggestions as it was too warm for skiing. Lots to do in nearby Luray too." -Guest Review from kreay "Perfect and affordable Place to Get-A-Way from the Hussle and Bussle. We have stayed at the Chalet twice and just love it. The price is right and the house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We have used it as a get-a-way in the winter to leave the hectic pace of DC and love that there's no cable, internet, or cell phone coverage... we bring dvd's, lots of food and drink, hike during the day and cook and relax at night. This past trip, we hit a couple of close wineries, which was just a perfect touch. Highly Recommend!" -Guest Review from dmiller "Wonderful vacation in the historic Shenandoah. Being a Virginian any chance to travel the Shenandoah Valley is a pleasure. Rarely, due to work schedules, have my wife an I been able to stay for more than a day or two. This time I had seven whole days. I believe this was the first site that I visited yet it seemed to have all that I was looking for to relax and explore in detail parts of the Valley. Where else but among the folks of the valley could you arrive and check in with such ease. The setting is as beautiful as described with a wonderful view of the mountains saying good night at sunset and to awaken us at sunrise. The chalet was a delight with every thing we would need. Even phone service was provided since cell service is spotty at best. Being from the Washington area the last thing we needed was blaring media news. We came to the Shenandoah to get away from that. We used the chalet as a base camp to explore from Waynesboro to Winchester. Seven days of perfect weather did not hamper things while hiking the Skyline but even a steady rain would have been fun here. This is a great place inhabited by wonderful people. We will be back. We really did not want to leave today. Regards, Wilson F. Gaithersburg, MD." -Guest Review from urspider68 "Thank you very much for your help with the cabin last weekend. We had a very nice time, the skiing was great, and the beds were very comfortable (after skiing, that is important!). So thank you very much and have a great weekend!" -Nathanael "Wonderful winter getaway. Myself and a couple of girlfriends spent a weekend at the chalet. What I liked about it was that they had comfortable furnishings and yet felt like it belonged in the woods. It was quiet and peaceful. When looking for a place what stood out about the chalet was that we would be able to walk to a hiking trail within Shenandoah - and we did that while we were there. I would definitely go back again and would recommend it." -K. A. from Globe Trekker "I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know we had a pleasant stay at your cabin. The place was very clean and you thought of everything we need in the kitchen and bathroom. It was nice and relaxing to come back to such a nice place after our ski trip. This was a memorable Christmas for our family. We would definitely like to go back in the future." -Yunhui & Family "We had a most pleasant time at your Shenandoah chalet the past week. The accommodations/facilities were superb. We had a peaceful and quiet vacation and the weekday cost to rent was very fair. We also visited Massanutten Ski area for some snowtubing, Hiking to Rapidan Hoover Camp in Shenandoah National Park, The Mt. Powell hiking trails near your chalet, and on the way back home, we visited Montpelier - home of James Madison. Thank you for the opportunity to rent your most wonderful vacation home! We plan to rent your chalet again in the future. We look forward til the next time." -Pio G. "Lovely, quiet refuge from the craziness of urban life! This chalet is quiet, comfortable, and outfitted with everything we needed for a lovely long summer weekend. We had two teenaged boys with us, and they loved sharing the loft upstairs, away from us adults in the bedroom on the first floor. The chalet was outfitted with all the cookware we needed to prepare several different kinds of meals. The bathroom is roomy, clean, and came with plenty of towels for all of us. We enjoyed the quiet of sitting on the decks, sipping our morning coffees or just reading in peace and stillness. Overall, a delightful rental property, and we would request it again in a heartbeat." -Cynde from Oak Hill, VA "I wanted to send you a note and thank you for a wonderful stay at your cabin. We really enjoyed our vacation. You have a lovely cabin! I even saw some hummingbirds at your flowers outside and found a four leaf clover in the front yard. I miss it already! It is so peaceful there. ... Hope to stay again." -Jennifer B. "Just wanted to let you know we had a great time at your chalet. It was the most relaxing vacation we have every had. You had the place stocked with everything needed. It was just like being at home. I had brought things from home and you already had them there. The view of the mountains was spectacular. We will definitely be renting it again." -Wanda and John B. "Just a quick note to say that we had another awesome experience at the Chalet. The ability to unplug from cell phones, emails, and the constant news cycle so prevalent in DC just multiplies the relaxation factor... we are vowing not to let 3 years pass again before returning and maybe stay when the weather is a little warmer, even though the 6-8 inches of snow on Thursday was so beautiful and the perfect addition to the fire in the fireplace and the Christmas carols on the Ipod! (Not to mention the glass of wine in hand!) And I can't remember the last time that I started and finished a booked in 3-4 days! Our best to you and Steve for a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year!" -David M. "Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our stay in the chalet. Everything was perfect and sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and the wind in the trees, was heaven. And I have to say that we've never rented a condo or cabin as well equipped as yours - just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for sharing." -Ann D. "We had a wonderful time in your cabin. It was so attractively and comfortably furnished. We loved watching the sun set behind the mountain from the deck and watching the resident rabbit nibbling on the grass in the back." -Alice S. "We absolutely LOVED our stay. What a lovely cabin! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and pampered. Having pancakes with fresh maple syrup and delicious coffee while looking out at the beautiful mountains will be one of my favorite memories. We will definitely be recommending your beautiful cabin to our families and friends. Thanks you so much for everything!" -Christine C. "Our stay at the chalet was lovely, thank you. It was comfortable, extremely well appointed, and the little touches of hospitality (pancake mix and firewood) were much appreciated. I would definitely recommend the chalet to others." -J.M. "We had the most wonderful time in the cabin over the weekend. My mother and I absolutely loved it-- both the breathtaking views and the very comfortable interior. We hope to come back!" -Natalia B. "The cottage was great. We had a wonderful time.... We are both mountain folks by heart just not location, so it was nice to get away for a while." -Julie S. "Just got home and wanted to send you an email letting you know that Monica and I had wonderful weekend at your Chalet. It was so relaxing, and we fell in love with your place. We most certainly will be visiting again. It was fantastic!!!!" -John and Monica "I just wanted to thank you for the days that we spent at your chalet. We had a very good time and it was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was perfect! Hopefully we'll be back soon." -Hernan "Everything was superb - the linens, bed, nice couch, wonderful magazines, nice landscaping, grill, views. we spent a lot of time out on the deck, reading and just enjoying the remote-ness and beauty. thanks again." -Lalong "Just a thank you for allowing us the privilege of enjoying the hospitality of your chalet. The pancake mix was a great addition to our mornings on the panoramic deck. It was a wonderful weekend for us both and are planning a return trip sometime later. Take care and thanks again for a most enjoyable stay in the mountains." -Melissa and Daniel "Your Chalet was absolutely fabulous. My wife and I could not have asked for a more cozy place for our anniversary. The bay window sealed the deal, its going to be hard for me to top this next year. Thank you again." -Aaron W. "Just wanted to drop a quick note to say we had a fabulous time and your chalet is beautiful! thanks a bunch!" -Jamie "My uncle, Harry Robinson, rented your cabin this past weekend for my sister, her husband, my husband and me. We are from NC and since he was married Sunday, he wanted us to be close by. (His house is also on Overlook Mountain Road) We really enjoyed our stay in your chalet. My husband and I stayed in the loft and loved the openness of it and enjoyed the deck. Once we arrived Friday night, we didn't leave Overlook Mountain Road until Sunday morning!" -Lori "I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at your cabin. My wife and I were both due for a much needed getaway from our jobs and your cabin made a nice home base for sightseeing around the area and the park." -Jim Z. "Truly wonderful experience, especially for our honeymoon! Our stay was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better cabin or a better location. It was great to get away and not have to worry about a thing." -Heather from Cumberland, MD "Lil Chalet in the woods. Very comfy, was heated and warm when we arrived at 2am. Keys were exactly where we were told we would find them. Very nice for 2 couples wanting to get away from it all. Kitchen was excellent for cooking, very comfy bedding." -Sandy from Levittown PA "My fiance and I were here for a week and loved it. Price is very good, clean, open space." -Ramish from Chicago "Romantic and Relaxing. The Shenandoah Chalet is a place we'd like to retire to... cozy, comfortable, and clean. I forgot peaceful - really peaceful. We enjoyed our entire experiences, our pancake breakfasts, our hikes, our all-night game of scrabble. It's going back to simpler times without shopping, traffic or craziness. When can we move in?" -Jackie & family from Rockville, MD "Excellent getaway choice near Shenandoah National Park. The Shenandoah Chalet is a very good choice as a home base for exploring the Shenandoah Valley or the National Park. Many other interesting places to explore are nearby, with Charlottesville and Monticello about an hour away. The chalet is situated a few miles from the Western park border northeast of Elkton Virginia and convenient to Skyline Drive and, further South, the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although some might see it as a disadvantage, the Chalet is rather isolated, well off the beaten path several miles off Highway 340. However, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet when not out sightseeing. The Shenandoah Chalet is perfect for a quiet getaway and would easily accomodate 3-4 people. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with a great variety of cooking utensils. The loft bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and the small downstairs bedroom could accomodate another person or couple. The owners were very helpful, answering our email questions very promptly. Highly recommended!" -Boilermaker_91 from Oxford, Indiana "Romantic anniversary getaway. The cabin was incredible, The morning view when you wake up is breath taking. We enjoyed it very very much." -Happy Hearts from Richmond, VA "Pre-Baby Get away. My wife and I rented the Chalet while my was pregnant just as a getaway before my son came. The cabin is very charming and we had everything that we needed. There is an awesome view from the front of the cabin. Further, you can hear the nearby stream in the background. A very picturesque setting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as a quiet getaway in the hills." -Zee from Silver Spring, MD "The cabin was really peaceful and easy to find, spending three nights there after our wedding in the area. We explored nearby swimming holes and flea markets and had a wonderful stay." -Leia P. "Wonderful cabin. Exactly as described. Even with the huge storm that moved through we didn't lose power unlike the neighboring town. which was great. Would recommend to anyone." -Frank C. "Just as advertised. I would recommend to a friend." -David N. "What a beautiful place! Stunning house and we had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The house has everything you need and the directions make it easy to find. Lovely." -Laura F. "Great cabin and an enjoyable stay. Thanks!" -Jiasi C. "The place was very clean and cozy. It is in a really good location if you are interested in visiting Shenandoah National Park." -Lauren B. "My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time this past weekend. • Amber, Nate and their family were great hosts! Sweet loving family with an equally lovely space to relax and unwind. They have a beautiful backyard that’ll revitalize as you sit there and enjoy the view. We have a little dog and he had a blast staying here too! To top it off, as we left, Amber also gifted us a fresh dozen eggs from her hens. 😄 What a wonderful stay!

  • Amber’s apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable! The drive to this rural retreat has gorgeous views of the countryside. My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend here.

  • Amber's place was exactly what we needed. We decided last minute to do a one night hiking trip with our dog and were thankful enough to find this spot. The drive down the dirt road is about 1.5-2 miles, but we found it easily with the directions provided. The basement space was private with its own entrance. We saw Amber and her family a couple of times as they live in the upstairs of the house, and they were very friendly and accommodating. Location was about 20 minutes from Sperryville which is small, but has everything you need in terms of food options, and only 25-40 minutes from a vast number of hikes.

  • The White Lotus is a beautiful and amazing spiritual oasis where heaven meets earth. A place where the mind is free and the spirit can soar. The only ones who should ever come here are those who have the ability to see this beautiful and deeply sacred place for the amazing sanctuary it is and truly love and cherish it! ❤

  • We had a great time staying in the Balcony Suite! From the moment we booked our trip, our hosts were very responsive and provided an amazing list of activities/things to do and detailed instructions for check in/out (which were quite easy). The place and the entire property were adorable, and there were a lot of things to do nearby, both on and off property. Shenandoah was only a 20 min drive away, and we did several of the hikes they recommended to us and had a blast. Grocery stores and restaurants were within 20 minutes as well, and we were able to make use of the small kitchen, which had plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils, and even a couple items to season food with. There was a TV in the room as well, a nice guidebook for the area that had great recommendations, and the bathroom tub had jacuzzi functions to boot. Thank you for making our trip a memorable one, it was the perfect place to unwind.

  • This stay was lovely, cozy, and magical. The location of White Lotus is off the beaten path in the middle of the woods and it was everything we needed to get away for a night. I wish we had more time to walk the grounds and explore!

Please note: The pool will be open the first week in May thru Labor Day Weekend (sometimes longer if weather permits).
About the guest house: Our guest house has a very country cottage vibe. The two bedrooms are located upstairs with a full bath. Downstairs you will find a kitchenette and a large living room with a rock fireplace. Please do not plan on having a strong wifi connection as you are out in the country! The appliances in the house are not new- but they are in working condition. We do allow pets on an approval basis (must be house trained and friendly with others). We have a courtyard directly out of the back door which connects to our home (no dogs allowed in the courtyard). There is a 30,000 gallon in-ground chlorinated pool that has child proof gates. We have 8 commercial pool chairs, plenty of floats and a speaker system you can Bluetooth your phone to with music. If there is anything else that you need we are steps away so don't hesitate to ask.
Even though we're new to Madison County, we love it! The rolling Blue Ridge Mountains make for a great sunset. Downtown Madison has several quaint restaurants and a local route to/from Shenandoah National Park. For DC Residents wanting to relax in the country for a weekend this is the place to be. We are close to 29 and located on a private 23 acres. It's relaxing quiet and peaceful. Charlottesville is close by (30 minutes and home to UVA) they have amazing restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The Downtown Mall has always been a big hit. We can schedule horseback rides, hot air balloon rides and other fun excursions for you seasonally. With so many weddings and events our home makes for the perfect location.
  • Great propriety, location, hoapitality and communication. Sparkly clean and cosy place for a weekend gataway.

  • What a beautiful cottage. The space and layout was wonderful. Very clean, comfortable, and lots of natural light. And pet friendly! This place was perfect for our little romantic getaway.

    Kyle2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sandy's little cottage was so great! We took a 3 day long getaway to the country and it was so peaceful and beautiful, and the first time I woke up to such enthusiastic bird sounds and cows! Highly recommend this stay if you want to relax and have a technology detox. The house itself was perfect and cozy, and very clean. We brought our mini poodle/dachshund mix with us and he *thoroughly* enjoyed all the space outside to run around. The sunrise and sunset were amazing from the property, too. We were able to drive only 25-30 minutes to hike at Shenandoah, and went to Yoder's country market every day we were there (sometimes twice a day!). There was also a Food Lion about 10 minutes away in case we needed any essentials. Overall an amazing and memorable stay!

    Becky2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy’s home was just what we were looking for! Close to local winery’s, only 30 minutes from Shenandoah and everything we were interested in doing. The home was absolutely beautiful, and she was quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips.

    Brittani2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sandys home was the perfect last minute getaway to get some fresh air and r&r before our baby comes. The house was spacious, cozy and clean. We loved sitting by the fire, playing board games and just taking in the views. On our last morning we woke up to all of the cows and HeeHaw the donkey right outside our window which was super fun. Loved all the comfy touches in the home, even the extra dog treats and bed for our pups. We will absolutely be recommending this place to the rest of our DC friends. Would love to come back in the summer and use that gorgeous pool.

Were you a horse crazy kid who always wanted to stay in a barn? Are you traveling with a friend and want to share a room without sharing a bed? Is your pet with you on your travels? Are you up for something a little different? Then our barn room is for you. You'll have the bedroom with twin bunk beds, a few necessary appliances and the bathroom next door mostly to yourself except when we bring the horses in to feed them in the morning and evening.
A few things to note: this room is literally in the barn, that means that a horse might stick its nose up to your window, or do something smelly nearby. Also we feed at about 6 AM and PM so there will be some noise and rattling of feed tubs at those times for about 1/2 hr and if the weather is bad, horses may be in during the day or night. They are all friendly and you can close your door, but you should know what you're getting into. You are allowed to bring a pet or two with you to stay in this room but we have dogs, cats, and chickens and your pets need to be under control at all times so everyone gets along and is safe.
Enjoy hanging out in front of the barn by the fire pit, use our lawn games or go for a walk on a dirt road nearby. We can point you in the direction of some good restaurants in Orange or Madison and there's plenty to do within a reasonable drive.
  • A great and comfortable place to stay.

  • Our stay at Kate’s was wonderful! The space was clean and cute. It had everything we needed and more for a great weekend. Would definitely stay here again next time I am in the area. Thank you Kate for your hospitality!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was awesome. 10 Stars! We slept within feet of Puff, the mare horse. Get up at night to use the bathroom, open door, and Puff is right there to greet you and get a rub down. Kate and her Mom also let us help out with 5 horses, feeding apples and carrots, and grooming the horses and leading them out to pasture and learning how to put the bridle on. Up at 6 AM with Kate's Mom while she cleaned the stables, I learned a lot about horses. Very talkative, very knowledgeable, it's very enjoyable to talk in the morning. Kate and her Mom also gave us great ideas of what to do in the surrounding area and let us borrow a book about Shenandoah National Park we used to help us plan our day trip. I can't say enough good things, this has been by far the best Airbnb visit I've ever had. I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea. Everything was clean, the barn was great, listening to the horses move around at night was, I thought, Awesome!

    Gary2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay at Kate’s place. Literally being in a barn was something different to try out, would recommend. Wasn’t much noise from the horses, was nice to have them right on the door step! Slept well, the room had everything we needed.

    Emma2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage was absolutely perfect for a weekend of hiking with my dog. The location of the cottage was secluded enough to feel a world away, yet only a few miles from many Shenandoah trail heads, wineries/breweries, and only about 20 minutes to the town of Madison for groceries/food. The cottage itself, while small, was modern in its finishes/furnishings. I particularly appreciated the well-apportioned kitchenette. It was wonderful to step outside and hear the babbling brook just across the way. Finally, the cottage was impeccably clean, and the property well-maintained. Becky was incredibly responsive and very communicative, making my stay stress-free. Perfect for a solo traveler, couple, or small trio of friends who are very comfortable with each other. Probably not well-suited for those with limited mobility or young children. 10/10, would book again!!

  • We absolutely loved this quaint little house! It was perfect for our last minute hiking trip to old rag. The house was close to the entrance to the trail and they had a ton of cute wineries near by. The house was a perfect size for my husband and I and our friend and came with a hot top stove so we could cook breakfast in the morning. We had a great stay and a wonderful weekend and Becky was an amazing host. We can’t wAit to come back and stay there again!

  • Adorable remote cabin, perfect for an escape from the crazy city life where you can relax and breathe some fresh air. There is a trail head not far from the cabin or you can just hang around the property and explore. You are close to the main house, but still far enough away to have your own privacy. Cabin was spotless and charming. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing trip. My only regret is that I didn't have more time.

    Claudia2020-01-23T00:00:00Z

If you spend most of your career glued to a computer and other screens, this place is for you. TriCreek Farm is a place for you to disconnect, reboot, and fuel your soul. This cabin is situated on ~100 acres with .5 mile of Robinson River frontage, hills, creeks, fish, and trails. The cabin is located in Brightwood, Virginia a small town located between Madison and Charlottesville Virginia.
The space is cozy with one queen bed and two built in bunk-beds. The cabin has a full kitchen and bath, a nice deck overlooking the Robinson River with easy trails for fishing, hiking, and biking.
  • We have been coming to the Robinson River Cabin since 2008 when it was under different owners. We usually come every New Year and were not able to last year because it had been sold. We were very happy and lucky to recently discover the cabin listed on Airbnb. The new owner Ali has the same positive energy as the previous owners and was very quick to respond to my questions. The weather was just right for hiking on the trails, taking walks in the woods, playing games and sitting out on the large porch while enjoying each other's company. The cabin is still as restful and peaceful as when we first came and it will always be a special place for us. Thank you Ali for continuing to allow guests to enjoy its tranquility and magic.

    Jan2020-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet retreat and perfect escape from the 24/7 attachment to cell phones and work life. Literally can catch fish right off the rocks just behind the cabin just as the pictures suggest. We ran into Ali and Kat a couple times on the property and they are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The trails through the woods are yours to explore and with no shortage of wildlife. We saw deer, eagles, and a fox on our walks. The back deck overlooking the river is serene. Not much beats having your morning coffee from Adirondack chairs with that view!

    Mike2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great stay! We loved the secluded atmosphere. The cabin was clean and welcoming. We certainly one back soon!

    Monica2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ali and Kat’s cabin was the perfect weekend getaway for our family. Our 2 boys loved the cozy built-in bunks and canoeing on the river. The views from the balcony were so peaceful - it was exactly the kind of recharge we needed from busy life at home. Got in touch with nature and each other! We will definitely be back :)

    Eva2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway from DC. It was super cozy and had everything we needed. Ali was very responsive and helpful. We did a short walk/hike on the property and it was really nice. We would definitely stay here again!

    Halima2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying in this cabin, it's small and cozy and great for a weekend getaway from the city (if you're from the DC area). The use of space is smart, considering the cabin itself is not big. I enjoyed hanging out on the deck, having a drink and looking out into creek and wilderness, as well as getting some use of the fireplace. My dogs had a great time too, as both jumped into the river and ran around to exhaustion. Lastly, Ali was also really helpful with responding quickly which made the trip better considering my poor planning :).

    Eliezer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a wonderful escape from city life! Quiet and secluded with great hiking trails on the property and a stone's throw from some great wineries.

    Keegan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice getaway. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and felt so relaxed after leaving. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and listening to the sound of the river while sitting on the back porch.

  • Terry responded immediately to my messages, consistently making it easier to plan even a last minute trip. We were her only guests this weekend and she graciously allowed us an early check in and late check out. She received 5 stars from us.

    Evan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I needed a night to get away from the chaos and enjoy each other's company. We booked Greg and Terry's with normal expectations BUT, once we walked into the apartment we were delighted and pleasantly surprised! The pictures they have on Airbnb do not do this stay justice! It was so much more! It was VERY clean ,cozy, and had many nice touches to it. They make guests feel at home and provide all the necessities that are necessary to have a perfect stay! When we booked the stay we did not realize that "Apartment " means that the stay is part of their home BUT, it really didn't make any difference. The guest quarters are very private .you have a lighted pathway to your own entrance. You would never know that there is anyone else there. They had a very cozy and relaxing theme throughout the apartment. The kitchen had all the necessities necessary if you were planning to stay awhile along with coffee, creamer, snacks, and water. The bathroom also had all the necessities. The bed was very comfortable and so was the living room. We give this stay a 5 out of 5 and would definitely come back or have family who are visiting stay here also.

  • Cozy and clean. Cynthia was helpful and a great communicator from start to finish. Her cottage is charming, and a nice surprise was that it was filled with great art all over the walls (my wife and I particularly enjoyed the landscapes!). The provided snacks were an excellent bonus. Her cottage is just outside of a small town, but it's easily accessible to anything of need (and a nice base, perhaps, for those seeking to do day trips to the many available sites in the area). I most enjoyed sitting in the backyard and watching the cows in the distance atop of the rolling hills. It's quite quiet inside the cottage, and quiet even in the backyard. Yet the cottage is just a few car-lengths from a country road, so the occasional car does pass in the front (in case you happen to be reading on the front porch and are looking for complete silence, etc.). Overall, highly recommended (and a great value)!

    Michael2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Cynthia for such a great stay at your beautiful farm cottage! Everything was perfect to the little touches, the lovely snacks/beverages and the comfy bed. We will definitely stay again for our next visit to Orange!

    Heidi2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend Cynthia's place for the perfect farm weekend getaway. The house was adorable and sparkling clean. We slept very well in the comfy bed and there were so many thoughtful touches from Cynthia (treats in the fridge, stocked toiletries etc.) Parking and check-in were incredibly easy. And there's nothing quite like walking up to the beautiful fields outside your window!

    Elizabeth2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a sparkling clean cottage in a private area that is conveniently located, close to the Town of Orange. Cynthia was a very responsive host that adds special touches to your stay. Great Valentine's Day trip for us!

  • Such a cozy, peaceful cottage! Cynthia did a great job making the place welcoming- the morning pastries were delightful, the bed so comfy, and all the added touches very endearing. We look forward to returning. And Orange is a small, vibrant town with wonderful local shops

    Sarah2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming place. Great restored hardwood floors provided lots of great extra touches. From a nicely stocked fridge, seriously eggs, cheese, soda, beer, fresh fruit to chocolate in the bedroom. The cottage is right on Main Street about 2 miles from Orange. Great communication from Cynthia as well. Highly recommend and would return.

  • The farm was very cozy and we enjoyed watching the goats play outside. We also enjoyed the woods walk which you can start very near to the room. The only thing I will point out is that the guests are expected to wash and put back dishes themselves, and there is no dishwasher. Had I known this beforehand I may have given them an extra wash before using them, but everything appeared clean. I also recommend bringing slippers as the floors were a little chilly!

  • There was so much to be thankful for about our experience at The Greenhouse home these past few days. Upon arriving, Martha left us warm home baked cookies to partake!! Amazingly delicious!!Whitt answered our questions about the farm life on Cair Paravel. Martha and Whitt were superlative hosts!!!!As a suggestion, take the Woods Walk around Cair Paravel. Suki, the white lab came along with us as we enjoyed this walk and a more challenging hike is the PATC Entry Run Tract. The Warm welcoming hot tub awaited us upon our return. We had the best long weekend ever. Alex and I will forever cherish the beautiful memories and the coolest moments we made at this beautiful retreat in the mountains!! We will be back soon!! Cheers! • Whitt and Martha's Greenehouse was a lovely escape. We enjoyed our homey little space, cooking meals with fresh farm goods and enjoying the clean mountain air. My husband and I hiked around the property and parts of the PATC trails with Suki the farm dog. At night, warm dips in the hot tub while listening to the animals settle down for the night was so very relaxing. Martha is a wonderful baker and we loved all of her muffins and breads. If you are looking for a place to calm down this is the place for you.

  • What a lovely relaxing oasis on top of the mountain. We enjoyed waking up to the farm animals and goats, and in this unit relaxing in the private hot tub--so soothing after a hike. Several lovely hiking trails linking to the property, so no need to even drive. Aloha themed unit with spacious kitchen and living room which had good some fun board games including "Worst Case Scenario" Survival game. Bring all your groceries so you can peacefully stay on the property for your entire time.

  • Stylishly-decorated house in the perfect location, one block from historic downtown and one block from a large park with hiking/biking paths. The house has a nice backyard which was a great place for our young child to play. Communication with the host was quick and easy. We highly recommend this place!

  • Eric was a great host. The house was very stylish and cute, with great amenities, like two huge Roku TVs and a fully stocked Kurig. The location is perfect - a 2 minute walk from both downtown Culpeper and a park with walking trails.

  • An amazing host! We had an unfortunate incident that prevented us from using Eric's AirBnB, but he accommodated us with an amazing alternative and covered the cost difference due to unfortunate circumstances. He was very quick to communicate, very friendly, and easy to work with. I would highly recommend!

  • This place was a godsend when we had to find an alternate place to “socially distance” ourselves while our own home was being worked on. The house is cozy, but ample room for our family of three. The beds were super comfy, too. We had everything we needed to cook at home, although we did get take out from the Thai restaurant a five-minute walk away that was thankfully open (and yummy!). A three-minute walk in the other direction was a park that was perfect for running around and teaching our son to ride a bike. Erik was a great host, and accepted our reservation on super short notice. Oh! And the internet was super fast and worked great as we were both needing to work remotely as well! Highly recommend if you’re ever in the area- you really can’t beat the price for this very conveniently located home in Culpepper!

  • This is a lovely little bungalow for a getaway! Amazing style, fully equipped for cooking and SO cozy. The proximity to the main street in town is wonderful, too, for visiting all the shops, restaurants and breweries. Hiking in Shenandoah is also easily accessible. Thanks Eric for curating such a great space!

  • We absolutely loved staying in this house. It was extremely clean and so cute inside, and the price was great for everything Eric provided. Check in was very easy and he did a great job of providing details and answering questions quickly when we had them. The location is also great; the town and many restaurants and shops that are super close by and accessible, and it’s a pretty short drive to many hiking trails. I definitely would book this house again if I decided to come back to Shenandoah for more hiking.

  • This Airbnb is perfect for anybody looking for a small-town experience that has great food, kind people, and scenic areas. The house was very clean, very organized, and you couldn't even tell anyone had been there before us! Awesome!!!!

  • Spent my honeymoon weekend here and it was lovely. It had all the essential dishes we needed to cook meals for each other. A short drive away from Shenandoah National Park if you like hiking. There was even some handy binoculars that we took with us. A Walmart close by if you need any pick me ups. Washer, dryer, extra linens if needed, everything is easy to find and we were not disappointed with our stay. The layout of the home is accommodating and comfortable. Would recommend and stay again.

  • We highly recommend to stay at Paul and Marilee’s place. There are so many wineries around, we will definitely go back!

    Susan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Marilee’s place was an excellent choice for our long weekend of hiking at Shenandoah National Park and the AT! Paul was even gracious enough to lend us one of his headlamps for our sunrise hike up to Bear Fence Mountain. The Loft is a quick 20-30 minute drive to the park entrance at Swift Run Gap. The beds were comfortable and the place was perfect size for our group of three and golden doodle. We would stay here again!

“Glamping“ experience on a huge horse and cattle farm with spectacular views. Close to Monticello, Montpelier, numerous wineries, great restaurants, Charlottesville. Gorgeous countryside. Third of three such tents grouped near one another (but not too near).
