Places to stay in Madison Park, Seattle
This is a cute and cozy mother in law apt. in the basement of our Madison Park home. The bedroom has an extremely comfortable queen size bed and walk in closet. The living room is furnished with couch, chairs and desk. We have a fully functioning kitchen with it's own stovetop, oven, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and grinder. A selection of teas and coffee will be provided. There is a full bathroom with shower. Washer & dryer -shared with us- available by request. Madison Park is one of Seattle's most popular neighborhoods in both the summer and winter. Enjoy a walk along Lake Washington or a swim at the city's most popular urban beach - just a block away. There are many great restaurants and shops, a pharmacy and grocery store all within a 3 block radius. There is free on-street parking in the neighborhood and usually there are free spots directly in front of our house. However, in the summertime on hot days the parking can be a challenge as we are only 1 block from a very popular public beach. The evenings are never a problem. By car we are 10 minutes to downtown and 15 to Bellevue and Redmond. We are also 1 block from the #11 Bus which takes you to Capitol Hill and Downtown. We are in close proximity to everything you might need in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. A perfect spot for a traveler in town for business or for pleasure.
  • This was the perfect little spot! It had everything we needed and more. The neighborhood was quiet and it was just a quick walk to the beach and some cute restaurants. Good location, highly recommend.

  • Quiet neighborhood with close access to food and coffee shops. Quick bus ride to Capitol Hill. Highly recommend!

  • Clean, kept, and cozy touches. Would definitely stay again :)

  • Lene And Johnny were great hosts! Check in was easy, the apartment was spotless, location couldn't be better, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, and such a comfortable place to stay.

    Katie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy place in Madison Park. I'd recommend if you want to be close to the main street in the neighbourhood.

    Alexander2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Plenty of space, very clean, and bed is super comfortable! We were here over Thanksgiving and the apartment was warm and cozy. In the Madison Park neighborhood- with great restaurants, shops, and the Washington Park Arboretum is not far away for lovely strolls, old growth stands and a friendly visitor center. Easy bus ride downtown. Our hosts provided lovely coffee beans and one can easily cook in the well appointed kitchen. Clear, quick communication. Highly recommend.

    Colleen2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is probably the third time I have stayed at Lene and Johnny's place. Each time has been absolutely wonderful. It is a fantastic neighborhood that is close to restaurants and shops, a very comfortable and well equipped space, and the bed is really comfy. Plus, they always have delicious chocolate and apples waiting for us to snack on. I highly recommend. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Debi2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Lene & Johnny's apartment from the 5th Nov - 13th Nov, As hosts they were immensely helpful with fantastic communication and hospitality. They were able to provide us with perfect last minute accommodation after having no where to stay due to being rejected from our initial hotel for being under the age of 21. As all the other reviews have mentioned, this little basement home was such a cosy little space! we had everything we could have possibly needed there thanks to such a broad range of facilities, check in was easy, and location was lovely. The number 11 bus route from just around the corner allowed easy travel around the city, and the neighbourhood we stayed in was sweet and peaceful compared to inner Seattle. We cannot recommend this place and thank the hosts enough!

  • Great place. Great host

  • This is my second time to rent Joshua’s place in two months. It is ideal for me as I have business in Madison Park. Even if you do not have family or business in the neighborhood it is a great place. Nicely laid out, perfect location, and a great place to stay when exploring Seattle.

    Jeffrey2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place in the heart of Madison Park. Great walking distance to the water, Madison Park city center, the parks, you name it. Josh was a great host, and the apartment was sparkling clean, with all the things you'd expect - kitchen well equipped, plenty of bedding, towels, etc. Would highly recommend!

    Brad2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our expectations were exceeded. Clean, bright, well organized property. Joshua's place had everything we needed. Location was perfect. We highly recommend this haven. We will be back again.

    Catherine2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Offer suggestions or say thanks for being a great host. Joshua: Thanks so much for providing me with a great space for my 6 days with you. I appreciated the careful and thoughtful touches. Even though it is a day light basement you went to the trouble to install enough recessed ceiling lights that the place was always bright and inviting, even in the wet and dreary Seattle winter. Your kitchen was very well equipped and I appreciated that you left what other guests must have brought. It is so useful to have olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper in the cupboards. I was please that you had your TV set up for Netflix. Far better than what is available on regular television. Your place is comfortable with plenty of amenities. Your location is superb for exploring charming Madison Park, or Seattle itself. With the number 11 bus just one block away it is easy to get into downtown Seattle or Capitol Hill without fighting Seattle's worsening traffic and difficult parking. I will certainly stay with you again. Ease of check in and check out was very helpful. The fact that there is unlimited free parking on the streets is a plus for people coming with cars. It is an excellent neighborhood for walking in, especially with Lake Washington two blocks away. In warm weather Madison Beach Park, one of the prime beaches on Lake Washington is just a few blocks from your place.

    Jeffrey2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location if you like to be close to a park with swimming opportunities or just stroll through a nice neighborhood with restaurants, a market and bars. Seems that the store owner around the corner knows the customer that comes by regularly. Also easy to catch a bus to go downtown

    Susanne2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I was in Seattle for a week-long course. I immediately regretted making this reservation when I learned that it was a lot further away than I wanted to be, forcing me to Uber to and from class. But, because I didn’t want to mess with cancellation and fees, I stuck with it. Really glad I did. The neighborhood was clean and quiet and the space was great. Really clean and set up well. Joshua is an excellent host and was very responsive. There was a bit of kid noise a few times but it was very minimal and not a bother in the least. When I told him that I don’t use K-cups because of plastic waste, he immediately brought a French press. Seemed like a great guy. I would recommend Joshua and his space to anyone, and since I get to Seattle frequently, will definitely return. In spite of the Uber rides! This place is worth it.

    Mel2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed here several times and have always found it great in every way—clean and comfortable with lovely amenities and a host who is on the spot with communication.

This adorable mid-century home has recently been turned into a permaculture garden and artists’ sanctuary. Currently residing here is a painter/landscape designer, an ink illustrator, and an architect. Located in the lush Montlake neighborhood, the house is only two blocks from the Washington Park Arboretum, and just Northeast of Capitol Hill. It's just close enough to be near the epicenter of culture in Seattle, and just far enough away from it all for some peace and quiet.
Your room is a unique creation of the ecological artists here at the Arboretum House. With sustainability in mind, we designed the retrofit walls of this new room of the house using only recycled wood, sand, clay, bamboo, and straw. It is a display of the wonderful warmth that building with natural materials creates and we hope it inspires you to embrace more sustainable practices in your life. You are equally welcome to keep to yourself as you are to mingle with the friendly housemates you will be sharing common areas with. The resident artists of the Arboretum House are dedicated to nurturing an inspiring and creative atmosphere, so that means we like to keep things neat, artistic, and flowy. We will be hosting occasional low-key art shows, acoustic music shows or other creative events about once a month, and we invite you to enjoy this community aspect, whether you are an artist or not.

This is charming detached, completely private studio guest house located centrally in the Madison Valley neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. It has a full private bathroom with shower and tub, a private keyless entrance, and a kitchenette with a small refrigerator. It also has off-street parking if you're driving, and access to a charming backyard area for relaxing.
Entrance: Check-in is easy, because the door is secured with an entrance code that is not reused. No keys to get or return! We send you your code and you can enter at any time day or night without arranging a time for us to give you keys. Privacy: This is a 100% private, detached unit. Parking and Driving: There is free parking available on 30th Avenue or on Dewey behind the unit. 520 is about 5 minutes away, giving you very quick access to either I5 or the East Side. Transportation: There is a ZipCar at 24th and Madison. There are usually Car2Go cars on Madison near by. The bus stop is at E Madison St & 28th Ave E, less than a five minute walk away. Downtown is about ten minutes on the 11 bus. The 8 bus provides quick access to Seattle Center, Capitol Hill, Rainier Valley, and the Mount Baker Link station. Internet: Free internet of course. We *don't* currently have a TV in the unit. Fine Dining: Madison Valley has some of Seattle's best dining. Our favorite reastaurants within a five minute walk are: Luc, Voila, La Cote, and Belle Epicurean (all French), The Harvest Vine (Basque), Cafe Flora (vegetarian), and Jae's (Asian bistro). Fast Food: Pagliacci Pizza is located one block North East on Lake Washington Blvd and Madison. There is also a Pizza Hut (carryout or delivery only) and a Terriaki place on Madison and 28th. Groceries: For groceries Trader Joe's (Madison and 17th) and Safeway (Madison and 22nd) are within walking distance, but be aware they are uphill! Convenience Store: Madison Valley Market (Madison and 29th) is less than five minutes away and has lots of groceries, snacks, beer and wine. Coffee: The Essential Baking Company (Madison and 29th) is a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a snack, or a full meal. Belle Epicurean is also a good place for a quick cup of coffee. Bed: This is an Ikea Hemnes king-sized bed with mattress and boxsprings. Bath: You get a full private bathroom with a soaker tub, shower, and plenty of towels. Kitchen: You have a half-sized refridgerator with freezer in the unit that you can use. There is also a kitchen sink, a microwave and a small (two person) coffeemaker. We also provide a tea kettle, a hot-plate and a small sauce pan. (Although we don't recommend this kitchen for lots of cooking as there is no kitchen exhaust fan.) Safety: This is one of Seattle's safest neighborhoods. Since you're in our backyard, we're around in case you need any assistance. Health & Fitness: Lila Yoga (29th and Madison) is a fantastic yoga studio. Kate's Day Spa (2713 E. Madison Street) is an excellent place to relax, and is open on weekends. Seattle Shambhala Center is a Buddhist Temple and is located two blocks down. It has an Open House (good for beginners) every Thursday evening. Arboretum: The best thing about this neighborhood is the Arboretum. You're less than five minutes away -- just cross Madison. Arboretum highlights include hiking, canoeing and kayaking, picnics, a full soccer court, and enjoying the year-round collection of magnificent flowers, plants and trees. The Arboretum also houses the Seattle Japanese Garden, open from February to November, a 3 1/2 acre formal garden. It features a lake with koi and turtles, community room rentals, tea ceremonies and special events all year round. At the north end of the park is Foster Island, which is an amazing and peaceful place to visit, with pedestrian trails that connect the island to the mainland. Madison Park: Madison Park is within walking distance, although a longer walk than some may want to take. In the summer this park becomes Seattle's access to swim in Lake Washington.
Madison Valley is a charming Seattle village with a European flair. We offer an eclectic mix of sophisticated shops, services, and restaurants. Our independently owned businesses attract visitors from afar, and shopkeepers greet customers by name. Here you’ll find people enjoying the good life, strolling the sidewalks, pausing to chat and explore. Join us, say hello, and stay awhile.
  • Great place to stay when exploring Seattle!

  • When I go to Seattle, this is place I stay - period. Clean, safe neighborhood, incredibly quiet, and two of my favorite restaurants in walking distance. An excellent choice.

  • You get exactly what is stated in the description. A sweet little spot in a quiet neighborhood close to several restaurants and cafes. It was a pleasure staying here for the weekend.

  • This is a wonderful spot! Very clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed the location, we were able to walk to quite a few places in the neighborhood as well as a quick Uber ride across town-everything is within a 10 minute ride. We loved how cozy it was and enjoyed all the great books.

  • We have stayed here before and came back for a three night stay. Very clean, well decorated, private, quiet, easy parking, wonderful location with a great kitchenette and bathroom. Just as described. Quick communication for check-in... even when we arrived a little early. We felt right at home. The hosts went out of their way to help us get some specialty coffee ground for us to enjoy. We would definitely stay here again!

Cozy cottage bungalow. 700 sq-ft LARGE studio -- 1 block from Lake Washington and a park with swings! 7 minute walk to Madison Park Beach for swimming, restaurants, and friendly cafes. Right near a Metro bus stop. Parking is free, safe, and easy. Newly upgraded, LIGHTNING FAST INTERNET!
My cottage is a block from Lake Washington, and a 30 second walk to a park by the lake with swings. There is a queen size bed, and a sofa that folds out into a double bed. Street parking is free, easy, & safe. I am a 7 minute walk to Madison Park Beach for swimming, restaurants, and cafes: Madison Kitchen, Starbucks, Cactus, Bing's, Red Apple Grocery Store, and Beach House Bar and Grill. Also close to Washington Park Arboretum. I'm next to a Metro 11 bus stop. Ten minutes to Capitol Hill. Fifteen to downtown. The place is a little older, but has lots of character.
Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Stroll down to Madison Park Beach for a swim.
  • Super cute and cozy cottage, close to the lake, with awesome style to it!

    Kimberly2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage exceeded all my expectations and staying here for a week was very fun and easy. The cottage has pretty much everything you need and is even very close to a layover bus stop so you will never have to worry about being late to the bus into the downtown area. I really enjoyed my stay here and even hope to come back someday.

  • Trent's place was in the perfect location for us, close to some very neat shops and restaurants and a lovely view of the lake. It was quiet and comfortable and clean. Trent was always just a text away if we needed anything. Recommended!

    Grace2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, a really good value for what we paid. Very private and peaceful location. The street is near the water and a short walk into a local business district. The bus to downtown and Capitol Hill is right outside the front door. The beautiful arboretum is a short drive/ bike ride away. We liked the area a lot and the private space was much more affordable than comparable airbnb's in the uber trendy areas. The little house has everything we needed for our stay. It is a chill place, like staying at a friends pad, deff not a "boutique" space so if you need that it might not work. For my girlfriend and myself, it was great and we will look to see if it is available on our next trip in.

    Gregory2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Trent’s Place was quaint, quiet, clean and in an absolutely gorgeous neighborhood. The bus into town is directly across the street! Trent was prompt in answering all inquiries. It was a wonderful stay.

    Muhammad2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, easy to reach, very quiet and the location is awesome. I’d come back anytime

    Sandra2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great and safe location, adorable neighborhood. We loved it and enjoyed walking to the nearby restaurants. There is a bus which stops right in front of the house - we didn’t use it since we had rented a car (always found a spot on the street within 2 blocks), but worth looking into for future visitors. Cozy place. About a 20 min drive from everything you want to go to - space needle, zoo, etc. Trent always responded to any questions quickly. Thank you!!

Bright, light filled 1 bed/1 bath apartment. Hardwood floors Indoor fireplace Full kitchen Balcony with Lake Washington view Our place was built in the 70's so there are quirky things about it! Like pink tile and pink bathtub plus older fixtures in the kitchen. It's definitely usable with some updates but if you're looking for BRAND NEW MODERN, this may not be the place for you. If you value more of location, value, and neighborhood then you've found it! Second Floor with the Red Door!
Cozy Lake Washington view apartment is the perfect stage for a lovely visit to Seattle, a couple's retreat, or seeing family/friends in the neighborhood. This is not a beach just to look at but walk across the street from the building and you'll find green grass to lay on, sand to play in, and clean water to swim in! Madison Park is one of Seattle's most popular neighborhoods in both the summer and winter. Enjoy a walk along Lake Washington or a swim at the city's most popular urban beach - just outside your front door. We are in close proximity to everything you might need in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. • Free Wi-Fi • A comprehensive folder with Seattle maps, bus schedules, sightseeing and restaurant suggestions • A hair dryer • Extra pillows, blankets, towels and wash cloths • A clean bathroom, fresh bar of soap, and facial tissues • 1 Queen memory foam bed • Easy on street parking is available • Across the street beach access • full size tub • books Coffee and tea are complimentary too! 10 mins away by car is Downtown Seattle (Pikes Place Market, SAM museum, Seattle Art Museum, Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Ride the Ducks), Belltown (great bars and restaurants), the International District (Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese food central), Madrona (cute shops and local eateries), Madison Valley (coffee shops, french themed restaurants and stores) Within a 15 minute drive of: Mariners and Seahawks Stadiums, Woodland Park Zoo, Museum of Flight, The University of Washington, Boeing Field, Ferries to the Olympic Peninsula, The Ballard Locks, West Seattle, Alki Beach, SeaTac International Airport, Bellevue, and Redmond.
My favorite thing to do? Roll out of bed, coffee on the balcony, grab a pastry at Madison Bakery, cross the street to walk along the beach, lunch at Mcgilvras (especially Monday's HH all day!), tennis at the Madison Park courts, afternoon shopping along Madison or visiting Madison Valley that is less than 1 mile away, then dinner at Independent Pizza (I like 'the Farmer' pie best!) Madison Park is a charming neighborhood in the heart of Seattle. The apartment is across the street from numerous restaurants including Starbucks, Madison Park Bakery, Independent Pizza, Red Onion Pub, BIng's, Madison Kitchen, Scoop Du Jour, Cactus Mexican, Thai Ginger, The Attic, and the Beach House Bar and Grill. You can also get cute Seattle trinkets and gifts from The Original Children's Shop, Cookin', Park Bench, Martha Harris Flowers, Pharmaca, Park Postal, and Red Wagon Toy Shop.
  • Fantastic location, excellent for long stays. Great communication with host! Would definitely stay again and recommend for families.

  • Excellent location with view of Lake Washington, comfortable and clean. Emily was super easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Emily!

  • Nice apartment, near many restaurants and a grocery store, clean, good places to walk nearby.

    Sean2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, nice space, lots of very close dining options and waking up to a view of the lake is magic!

    Monte2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is the best. The neighborhood has convenient restaurants, markets, close to the Arboretum and many places to just walk about in safety. Parking close to the building was never a problem. The apartment is spacious yet cozy and as advertised quirky but not to it's detriment. It's an unusual space as it was one time an office that had been converted from an apartment in a building that is now mixed use. The bedding is quite comfortable. As for the lighting we got that fixed no problem. We never met our host Emily but she was the greatest in terms of accommodating are needs and questions. I don't think you will ever find a better B&B host than her.

    Carl2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific stay. Beautiful morning light on the lake as we watched early swimmers with our coffee. Location was super convenient - the bus (No. 11) was literally steps away and took us to within two blocks of the Pike Place market downtown in about 30 mins. The apartment is roomy and the surrounding Madison Park commercial district has several great eateries, a market, and a pharmacy. Minor shortcomings mentioned in other reviews were more than offset by Emily's affordable price. We would stay again.

    Carole2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Emily was a terrific host and made our stay easy and hassle free. The flat is in a terrific location, across the street from the lake and next to great dining and bar spots.

  • Emily’s place was perfect-just as described. Her responses to any questions were super prompt and helpful and she was able to accommodate us on our timing when we arrived earlier than planned. We enjoyed the sounds of the beach each day and the great local beach feel community. Would recommend a stay here!

Our family-owned College Inn is an authentic European-style* hotel in the heart of Seattle's vibrant University District & on the campus of the University of Washington, surrounded by restaurants, shops, cafes, and pubs. Newly remodeled in 2019, our guests enjoy modern comforts while in a hotel that is on the National Register of Historic Places. *In the tradition of "European-style" hotels, we have a common lounge & shared bathrooms.
Newly remodeled Small Twin Hotel Room with: - In-room vanity sink/mirror - Cotton bathrobes - Separate shared men's and women's bathrooms on each floor - Free WiFi - Loft common area for socializing or studying with complimentary tea and coffee all day; and - A fully non smoking establishment
The University District - Home of the University of Washington and “The Ave”: Surrounding the University of Washington, the University District is an eclectic mix of urban shopping areas; historic homes and architecture; and great cafes, pubs, restaurants, and theaters. The “U District” has a youthful and relaxed feel with lots of dining and shopping deals to take advantage of. Much of the charm of the U District can be found in simply strolling the neighborhood. The University of Washington’s gorgeous grounds include historic buildings, gardens, sprawling green spaces and, in spring, blossoming cherry trees. “The Ave,” (University Way) is a popular gathering place, with lots of indie eateries and funky shops. And on 17th Avenue N.E., a tree-lined lane known as Greek Row, passersby can admire the stately mansions that house UW’s fraternities and sororities. Attractions include the stellar collections at the Henry Art Gallery* (University of Washington) and Burke Museum* (1413 NE 45th St). There are also acclaimed dance, theater and music performances at Meany Hall. Those looking for outdoor pursuits will feel right at home among the students who can often be found kayaking on Lake Union or Portage Bay, biking the Burke-Gilman trail or catching a football game at Husky Stadium, known for its unique tailgating parties (some tailgaters arrive by yacht rather than by car).
  • Clean rooms, free- wifi, awesome! The shared bathrooms and showers are very clean. The "Loft" on the top floor is an inviting space for coffee, tea, and hanging out. It serves as the breakfast in the morning and it was more than I expected to have. Perfect location to UW, couldn't ask for anything closer to the Meany Center!

    Sandra2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • It’s such a cute place!! Sparkling clean and very friendly staff. My room was stylish decorated with a lot of lovely touches. The only downside is the shared public bathroom, but during my stay, the showers are always clean and readily available. Other guests are courteous so I was able to sleep through the night despite thin walls as mentioned in other reviews :) overall, a great experience.

    Emma2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as expected and as I read in the description. I gave this place five stars across-the-board. It was clean, well sealed, and the art was meaningful and not tacky “Bed Bath and Beyond art” that one might find at a Marriott. Having a sink in the room is very convenient. The automatic, silent, non-air-drying heater was very high-quality. I came during the renovation which I did not know about prior to coming, so beginning at 11 AM there was loud hammering and noise which is understandable. Next to I believe room 201, my room, there is a moderately loud fan. Still, given the thoughtfulness, cleanliness of everything, and the affordable price, I give this place all five stars.

Montlake is a fashionable residential neighborhood of older homes located just south of "the cut," the boat canal bordering the University of Washington campus. Nearby Interlaken Park is a tranquil wilderness area hidden in the middle of a bustling city. And the Arboretum, with its Japanese Garden and other attractions, is perfect for your daily run or a pleasant stroll. Another nearby favorite is Volunteer Park with its Asian Art Museum and Victorian botanical conservatory. A small commercial area just up the street includes our local coffee shop, a neighborhood urban bar, and a popular Italian restaurant.
  • David’s home is a warm comfy environment. Everything is extremely clean, and added amenities such as breakfast, bath robes, earplugs etc were a great touch. The hot tub is amazing!m, and the surrounding area is next to two beautiful parks. David is very informative of the area, and gives helpful tips. Only downside is the hallway floor and stairs creek a bit, which might effect light sleepers. Overall had a wonderful experience, would definitely come back again.

  • David is an outstanding host! His house is super clean and the room was very cozy! David is very and nice and knowledgeable of the area. He gave us great tips of things to do in the area. I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Seattle.

  • We loved the room. It was more than enough for me and my boyfriend. David has done a great job in adding unique details—There are robes, towels, makeup remover wipes, ear reducing plugs, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, breakfast, fresh flowers, just to name a few. It was the first time we have stayed in an Airbnb and we really enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend staying with David, he is very friendly and is very knowledgeable about the area. -Christine and Edgar

  • David’s home is beautiful! Sparkling clean and absolutely a great place all around. We appreciated being able to use his hot tub in the Seattle winter! It’s about a 2 mile walk to the Capitol Hill area with a lot of bars and restaurants as well as a mile walk to the light rail station. We appreciated the thoughtful touches such as robes in the closet and small breakfast items placed out in the morning. We would love to come back and visit!

  • Staying at David's is like staying at the hotel : comfy bed, closet, bathrobe & towels, hairdryer, breakfast in the morning and even a hot tub!! He also gave me several information about the neighborhood and things to do around. I'd definitely stay there again if I come back in Seattle :)

    Marie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • David is an outstanding host who has given us many insights about the city and what to do during our stay. The place is very comfy and spacious, and the included breakfast was much appreciated. David’s place is probably one of the bests sports to stay in Seattle.

  • Tiffany’s place was absolutely beautiful. The pictures were good but did not do justice to the space, especially the beautiful bathroom complete with heated cement tile floor and the best smelling bathroom towels of any place I’ve ever stayed. The kitchen was also fully equipped with essential items for most any need. Check-in was effortless and Tiffany was exceptionally prompt at answering any questions. If you’re looking for a great place to stay in the Capitol Hill area, I would highly recommend Tiffany’s place.

Our cozy chic Madison Park apartment features artwork from local artists, bountiful plants, and many books. Enjoy hardwood floors, bright big windows and brand new Tuft & Needle mattress. If you're looking for the awesome blend of nature and urban living that Seattle has to offer, this is it! 850 feet from Lake Washington in a serene neighborhood, you are only 2 miles from Capitol Hill with easy bus access (the line stops in front of our complex!). You couldn't ask for a better vacay zone!
Welcome to our apartment! We rent this space when we're out of town, but we definitely live here! Stay with us if you want a true Seattleite experience, not some sterile pseudo-hotel. Check out the binder for where everything is in the apartment, as well as our informational email when you book. Built in the 1930s the Edgewater is an example of classic Seattle architecture. This is a calm & relaxed apartment complex unlike any you've seen before. It feels more like a midcentury college campus than a complex. Access is through a key-code door with a coded key box inside. We are 850 feet from Lake Washington, and the Edgewater has many private spots to sit by the water or grill. In the summertime there is an outdoor heated pool! The apartment features original hardware and details throughout. Hardwood floors everywhere and awesome pink tile in the bathroom. Enjoy our bidet, towel & fresh linens. We've got a great sound system with a large tape collection and bluetooth audio (though the record player is off-limits) so feel free to vibe out. Free wifi and a large desk means you can stay productive on your trip and please peruse our library, it's packed with local authors. Big and fully equipped kitchen easily fits two chefs, we just ask that you leave your dishes in the drying rack after you've washed them. Respect the compost & recycling. There is coin-operated laundry in the basement that is efficient & well maintained, last loads at 8:30 pm so that it doesn't run too late.
Madison Park is a fancy neighborhood. Two to three blocks from the apartment is the main drag, with a range of restaurants and retail shops, from kids stores to kitchenware. There's a good coffee shop, the Madison Kitchen, and a Starbucks. Check out weekly karaoke at the Red Onion if you want to get wild. Hop the bus outside the complex and head up to Madison Valley & Cafe Flora, or all the way up to Capitol Hill, with all the hot restaurants, shops & night spots. Ask us for recommendations on where to shop & eat! We're right on the water near Madison Beach, and North of all the best Lake Washington swimming spots. Ask us for recommendations for where to dip your toes!

Welcome to The Luther, a rare gem in Seattle's Madison Park neighborhood. The Luther is a vintage abode offering style and charm to make your stay in Seattle special. This house has made many memories, and we are excited to share it with you for you to make some of your own. Traveling with a group larger than 6 people? Inquire with the hosts about reserving both The Luther and the downstairs studio unit, The Little Louie: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/27805238
The Luther features a tasteful mixture of mid-century modern furniture and antiques. The library in the living room includes many classic collectible book volumes. The living room also includes a wood-burning fireplace and a piano that pianists adore for its distinct tune. The bedrooms are simple, comfortable, and designed to calm. Each bedroom has generous closet space. The pink and green (master) bedrooms have vanity/writing desks. The original wallpapaer in the hallway bathroom is a sight to behold.
Great beaches and parks, and some of the city's best restaurants and bars are nearby. The neighborhood is adjacent to Seattle's famous Capitol Hill, is just south of the University District, and is easily accessible from Downtown Seattle and Bellevue.
  • Great location and very walkable to fun shops, restaurants and a grocery store. The house was very clean. There was a shortage of washclothes but the hosts responded to all requests quickly. The beds were comfy and the linens wre fresh. We chose The Luther because it had a large dining room table that was perfect for entertaining family. This would be a great summer destination because the pool area is very nice. The "rec" room is really more of a store room for yoga mats and a few weights but you can always bring this equipment up to the very spacious Luther. We stayed in December and it was dark by 4:30 p.m. The living room is lovely and the hosts provided extra lighting so we could visit and read in the living room after dark. We asked for more lighting since we had elderly visitors.

  • The Luther was a wonderful place for my PacNW family, including a beloved older dog, to spend Thanksgiving together. The large kitchen made it easy to prep, cook and bake together. It was well equipped. There were a large number of bowls and cutting boards, and a nice assortment of skillets. The dishes, glassware, and flatware are as stylish as the rest of the beautifully decorated home. But there were also enough empty cabinets to store the supplies we brought in. The dishwasher was a workhorse. The kitchen also has a round marble-top table, which was a perfect place for morning coffee and breakfast. The dining room (which has six matching chairs and could seat eight with chairs from the living room) was perfect for us. The appliances are modern and convenient, and the oven temperature is accurate. The kitchen has a garbage sorting system (recyclable, compostable, and landfill) with clear instruction on what belongs in each. The receptacles are in the driveway, where there is space for one car each for The Luther and The Louie (a separate downstairs option). There is plenty of street parking for additional cars. The very comfortable house and beautifully landscaped yard are in a very nice neighborhood, close to a small village of retail and restaurants and a small grocery store. All of this is walkable, weather permitting. The living room has a wood burning fireplace we enjoyed using twice. The sofa is new and comfortable, and the lounge chair showed in the photos is as comfortable as it is attractive. There is a Roku TV. The backyard has a fenced-in swimming pool and hot tub, with a large wood deck, but the weather was too cold to enjoy them. I can imagine they are amazing amenities in the summer. The bedrooms are large and quiet. The beds are comfortable. It's worth noting that the room with twin beds does not have curtains, but privacy was not an issue. The twin bed room also has rechargeable globe lights. There is a bathroom in the master bedroom that has a walk-in shower and a well-lit large vanity. The hallway bathroom has a shallow tub. The hosts provided one bath towel per guest and two hand-towels. If you prefer cloth wash cloths, it would be good to bring your own. There is a laundry room in the common area in the basement (accessible with a separate code), so washing bath and pool towels is an option. The hosts made us feel like welcome guests. Emily was super-friendly, responsive, and very helpful when needed. She and Chauncey provided a thorough and much-appreciated guide to the house, to nearby neighborhood options, and to recommended downtown Seattle restaurants (about a 14 minute drive away). Bottomline, The Luther felt like a family home perfect for a family gathering. As an airbnb, it is smartly and stylishly furnished. We loved every minute we spent there and each of us will savor the memories for years to come. Bo

  • Stylish and comfortable. Such a great neighborhood. We’ll be back!

    Leeav2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, we had a nice stay for 6 guests. The pool appeared lovely but was quite cold as we were there in November and did not have the opportunity to use it. We did have a couple of problems with heating the hot tub, but ended up not using it anyway. Emily and Chauncey were excellent at responding to any concerns we addressed to them quickly and appropriately. The area was about a 20m uber from the downtown/Pike place area, the street was nice and quiet and the layout of the house/yard ensured a fair amount of privacy. There were nearby restaurants and parks within walking distance that were lovely. We did not have downstairs guests during our stay, so I am not able to comment on how that may have changed anything. Other than the steps into the unit and the one step to the outside backyard, the area was Wheelchair accessible which was helpful for a member of our group. A few of the rooms did not have blinds or curtains, which I found a bit odd and the sun did wake some of our guests quite early, much to their dismay. This is a very easy fix though. I would recommend this as a nice place to stay for a large group or family.

    Marissa2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with some friends, and we had a lovely time. The living room was such a nice place to hang out. We lit a fire and had plenty of room to all be in the same spot. The kitchen and dining room are big enough to use for a group, and has most of the basics if you want to cook there. The bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean. The only hiccup we had was with the hot tub and pool - it does cost more to have it up and running, and you need to get it going yourself. It was a little fussy for us to turn on, but could have been an abnormal day.

    Kelsey2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is the spot. It's in the sweetest little neighborhood. It's a nice mid-century modern home with everything you'd need for a Seattle sojurn.

  • Great stay for a weekend getaway. I was a little worried about parking but it was free on weekends and we found a space out front. It might be tricky if you’re tall since there are low ceilings (but we aren’t very tall so it didn’t impact us). It was a little dark too! The lock in the door was great, it was keyless and it was quiet in the evenings. I’d stay here again!

  • I booked this space for my dad at Thanksgiving. He travelled here from the midwest and needed a place close to ours in Madison Park. It had everything he needed and was very comfortable, clean, and had some really nice touches. Stephanie was a great host, very responsive and thoughtful. I will definitely book this spot again and recommend it to my friends.

    Sarah2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • A great location and a lovely host:-)

Welcome to the private daylight basement of our Tudor home in beautiful Montlake! Warm, inviting suite has a bedroom with queen-sized bed, a bathroom with shower, and a cozy TV room with a double sofabed. Perfect for family, couple, or two friends. Interlaken Park and the Arboretum are steps away; UW Husky Stadium and Light Rail are a short walk or bus ride. In lieu of kitchen we offer a microwave, fridge, Keurig coffee...and insider tips from your host, a restaurant critic. Dedicated parking.
The private entrance to your guest suite is through our garage (you'll have a code) and laundry room. Once you're in the suite it's entirely your own. We are a busy couple with an active life, so you may hear music or footsteps from time to time. You are our guests, however, and we will try our very best not to disturb you. Nothing fancy about our space, but it's warm and comfortable!
About as pastoral as it gets 10 minutes from downtown, Montlake is a quiet and leafy neighborhood with quick access to the University of Washington, Capitol Hill, and Bellevue. Generously laced with beautiful large parks for runners (Interlaken Park is our backyard, the Arboretum/Japanese Garden/shore of Lake Washington just 15 minutes by foot, Volunteer Park is a walk through a forest), Montlake also has two terrific kids' play structures within walking distance. Bike rentals are a half-mile away at Montlake Bicycle Shop, with Seattle's premiere bike trail, the Burke-Gilman, just a mile further on. Kayaks are available for rent at Agua Verde Paddle Club; canoes and rowboats are available for rent at UW Waterfront Activies Center. Both are within a mile of our home. Fuel Coffee, the exquisite woodfired pizza restaurant Cafe Lago, its Italian coffee/gelato/nosh bar and grocery Little Lago, and a couple of little groceries are within a mile. The charming breakfast bakery/restaurant, Volunteer Park Cafe, is a 15-minute walk uphill through the forest behind our home.
  • Had such a great time! They let us drop our bags off early and was so so friendly! The place was great and so comfortable for the three of us

    Brian2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice neighbourhood, very private and quiet but also in a central location. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking to rest easy after a day in the bustling city!

    Dan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn and Tom’s place was excellent. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. They had half and half to go along with our coffee. An abundance of towels in the bathroom. A private entrance and all about 12 minutes away from Seattle. This is a great Airbnb. Highly recommend.

    Edwin2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely little basement apartment/space, nicely decorated with many personal touches. Great hot water and pressure in the shower. Quiet and safe feeling. The bathroom access is through the bedroom, and the couch has a fold out bed. Nice self check in and the hosts are polite, helpful and communicative. I would gladly stay there again.

    Sarah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised! You won't be disappointed!

    Scott2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn and Tom are thoughtful, gracious hosts with a lovely unit in the basement of their adorable home. It doesn’t feel like a basement so much as a private oasis in a perfectly quaint family neighborhood. Plenty of access to parks (specifically the casual walking-friendly Interlocken Park) and Lyft/Uber only 15min to downtown. Perfect if you’re seeking a quiet retreat closer to nature with neighborhood vibes while boasting quick/ easy access to the action and sites downtown.

  • We had a wonderful time at Daniel’s place. The amenities available were amazing, we almost didn’t need to bring anything from. The design of the place was also so cute and unique. Cleanliness was also so great!

    Aubree2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! Would come back and stay here again.

    Meg2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! This is a perfect spot for a quick stay in Seattle. The bed and pillows are super comfortable, and the neighborhood is quiet — I got great sleep while I stayed here. Not a lot of shops or restaurants close by, but if you walk up the hill on Union you'll find a few. I would recommend Squirrel Chops and Taco Chukis for tacos on a budget. Seems like the area is growing. The floor is concrete, which was a little hard on these tired legs after walking up all the hills in the area, but definitely wasn't a deal breaker for me. I would stay here again

    Shaun2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

Modern, clean, and bright mother-in-law in Capitol Hill with its own private entrance. My home is cozy, clean and quiet, with great coffee shops, bars, and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The downstairs studio is your private haven, and I'm happy to answer any of your questions and offer suggestions as a Pacific Northwest local. Everything is renovated and brand-new, just waiting for your stay!
This is my first home and I'm so excited to be a homeowner! It's located in a highly desirable neighborhood of Capitol Hill, close to downtown Seattle, easy walkable access to the light rail, and very charming. It’s a great little space that’s perfect for 2 people. Kitchenette: There is is small kitchenette equipped with a full size sink, Keurig (I provide coffee pods, creamer, and sugar!), dishes, knives and cutting boards, salt and pepper, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and a counter seat to enjoy a cup of coffee or do some work on your laptop! Living Space: There is a comfortable queen size bed (with extra pillows!), a bedside table, lamps, and easy access to outlets for phone charging. There is a comfortable chair perfect for relaxing as a seating space. There is a wall-mounted TV with a Roku above the couch, perfect for watching Netflix or any other streaming app you have after a day of exploring the city. I also provide some shelving and a closet rod with hangers for hanging clothing or jackets. It's also perfect to store luggage! I also include an ironing board and iron for your use (great for those fancy occasions or work trips). Bathroom: You'll have your own private bathroom with a stand-up shower and brand new tile flooring (My Dad and I did the floors ourselves!). I think you'll like the floor just as much as we do. The water is hot and the pressure is good. Heat: There is a space heater for your use and it warms up the unit really well! Parking: There is a dedicated parking spot at my house for Airbnb guests (super rare in Capitol Hill!). Street parking is also free and fairly reliable on most days if you prefer. The parking spot fits a standard sedan or small SUV.
Capitol Hill is awesome - the city's best neighborhood! My home is down a dead-end alley so it's quiet, yet less than a 10 minute walk to everything you would want: bars, coffee shops, Seattle's top restaurants, parks, bookstores
  • Great little place - simple but nice and just as described.

    Matthew2020-02-03T00:00:00Z

This unique and comfortable shared house is conveniently located in the Montlake neighborhood of Seattle between Capitol Hill and the University District. This house offers the best of both worlds with neighborhood charm and safety and easy accessibility to nightlife via public transit.
The house is just a ten minute walk to the Link Light Rail Station, which gets you to Capitol Hill in 3 minutes, Downtown Seattle in 6 minutes, and the Airport in 45 minutes. It is also on several bus lines that connect to the surrounding area with access to the Microsoft Campus, Kirkland, Issaquah, and Bellevue. Across the street is the Montlake Boulevard Market, a neighborhood grocer offering local produce and a specialty deli. Just five minutes down the road are the restaurant Cafe Lago, and Fuel Coffee.
  • Great stay, convenient, bus stop literally around the corner, definitely recommend this place and for the cost per night you can't complain.

My home is on 2 major Seattle Metro bus routes 8 and 11. I'm close to the Pike Place Market and Space Needle. You’ll love staying here because it's close to public transit, major financial institutions, and the tech industry. I only accommodate solo adventurers and business travelers.
Your bedroom is at the top of the stairs and bathroom is 3 steps from that door. Due to my 17 years in Alaska and a few sojourns to Belize, I have some lovely Alaska Native and Belizean artwork on the walls. As you walk upstairs to your room, you will see a 10-foot long piece of baleen (whales feed by filtering tiny shrimp that live in the water column) on the wall. It was given to me by an Inupiaq client who lives in Barrow, Alaska.
My neighborhood in Madison Valley has a variety of cheap eats as well as high-end restaurants. Those include a French rustic establishment, Sushi bar, Continental cuisine, and two great cafe bakeries up the block. You can also clothes shop in three or four boutiques and gift stores. Half a mile north in Madison Park brings one of the best Sushi restaurants in Seattle along with delicious Mexican and Asian fare. I truly live in a foodie paradise.
  • Close to everything...#8 & #11 buses stop right outside front door...super convenient...clean and comfortable...would stay again.

Getting into town and back is easy as the bus stops just outside the door. It’s also nice having your own bathroom and the bedroom is comfortable, especially the bed. The best thing is that Susan really goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and that everything is ok. She is also knowlegdable and offers great conversations. Highly recommended.

A calm, quiet, private getaway just minutes from the most exciting parts of Seattle! We're new hosts on Airbnb, and we've been looking forward to having guests stay in our recently furnished 1st floor guest suite. We live in the upper floors of the townhouse, and are excited for you to use our space as a home base to relax or explore the city!
The guest suite is a bedroom with attached bathroom on the first floor of our 3-story townhouse. The suite opens onto a private fenced-in patio with plants and a tree. Guests have their own separate entrance through the patio. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a new hybrid foam-spring mattress and plenty of pillows, as well as a desk and chair for convenient work on your laptop computer. Other amenities include fast wifi, television with Netflix, iron and ironing board, plenty of hangers in the closet, mini-fridge, microwave, electric kettle, and some dishes and utensils. We provide instant coffee and tea to get you started in the morning! The bathroom has a standing shower, toilet, and sink. We keep it stocked with soap and shampoo, a hair dryer, and of course, plenty of towels.
Our home is in the quiet Miller Park subset of Seattle's famously exciting Capitol Hill neighborhood. It really is the best of both worlds: minutes away from the Capitol Hill nightlife and all of the attractions Downtown, but just far enough away that you can also get some peace and quiet when it's time to rest! We are on a tranquil residential street, just a few blocks away from grocery stores, restaurants, a great little coffee shop, and a gem of a neighborhood bar. If you want to be centrally and conveniently located in the heart of Seattle, and still get a great night's sleep, this is really the perfect location.

  • Great, cozy place on a quiet street not far from downtown Seattle. Easy check in too. We enjoyed the offerings of coffee and tea in the space- a nice little touch! Would stay here again!

*In the tradition of "European-style" hotels, we have a common lounge & shared bathrooms for our standard rooms.
Newly remodeled Standard Queen Hotel Room with: - In-room vanity sink/mirror - Cotton bathrobes - Separate shared men's and women's bathrooms on each floor - Free WiFi - Loft common area for socializing or studying with complimentary tea and coff all day; and - A fully non smoking establishment

  • Even though I didn't end up staying there because of a change in plans, Robert and his wife were super helpful, kind and accommodating.

  • This was the last stay during my trip in Seattle. The price was extremely fair for what I got. The hotel has a coffee shop, pub, noodle restaurant, and boba tea shop right underneath it. Everything is conveniently close to the hotel. We got a key card just like a hotel to access the building and our room. The room was sparkling clean, as was the common areas. The owner was very nice and helpful. The loft has a large selection of tea and coffee and great views from our room of the city. Would definitely stay here again in the future and glad I got to experience it.

  • This place was perfect for our nice quick drive into Seattle from Vancouver. Robert was very accommodating and the location was perfect with it’s proximity to the rest of the city and it’s attractions.

  • Super clean. Super convenient to UW. Perfect place for parents and families to stay while visiting their UW students or campus. Bagels, coffee and restaurants are in same building at street level. The shared bathrooms and showers were very clean and convenient. The room furnishings and bed were cozy and comfortable. The place felt like a European hotel. This is the place to stay if you like opportunities to interact with other guests and a unique lodging experience at an affordable price.
