  • We booked Sherry’s home last minute on a road trip, and we were thrilled upon arrival that we chose her home over any hotel. The home is spacious for 4 people and dog friendly too. We stayed for only one night but enjoyed a very relaxing evening. Her home is decorated with a lot of stylish touches. And Sherry is very quick to respond to all messages. Highly recommend booking if you’re in the area.

  • The house was spacious and lovely. Such a nice, comfortable space for us during our week in Georgia. Easy access to Savannah and the Golden Isles. It was also pet friendly which was perfect because we didnt have to leave our new fur baby at home. If you're planning on the area, the place is an excellent choice.

  • This place has everything you could possibly need for your getaway. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are numerous toiletries for the bathroom available as well! We got in late and I hadn’t had time to stop at the store for drinks for my kids, but there were snacks and caprisuns there to save the day, and coffee for my husband and I in the morning! My kids had a great time and my dog loved being there with us. Great place!

    Ashley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry's place felt like a home. I enjoyed the stay, she was responsive during check in, during the stay and booking. The local restaurant has really good fried seafood at a reasonable price.

    Brett2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet, relaxing, and very welcoming!! Sherry was very accommodating and super nice! She had local restaurant and entertainment information laid out as well as snacks ! The kids were able to run around and play outside without having to worry about traffic which was a huge plus!!

This little gem sits right across the quiet street from beautiful marsh views, with only a 5 minute walk to the dock and boat ramp. Enjoy your stay by relaxing on the elevated deck or screened in porch. Or, if you'd rather, spend your days fishing and crabbing from the local dock. Have a fire out back in the old molasses pit or in the outdoor wood burning stove upstairs on the deck.
My husband, children, and I have been "yard salers" and thrifters for as long as I can remember. We decorated this home with things we have picked up over the years, and the eclectic charm is obvious as soon as you pull up. This is also our local vacation home, as we live just up the road in Darien. We visit this location often, so we keep some food and drinks in the house.
The neighborhood is VERY quiet. There are neighbors, but they are out of town mostly. The house sits across from a beautiful marsh. Keep your eyes peeled for an amazing sunrise and sunset, as well as dolphins in the creeks(we've seen them from the deck in the distance).
  • The perfect getaway. Amazing Views - Relaxing - Super Clean and has EVERYTHING one may need. We will definitely return.

  • This little cabin by the water was more than we could have imagined. It felt like home away from home. The decor was nice to look at along with the views on the porch. Jan communicated back and forth with no problems. The guestbook was a nice touch. Perfect for our little family and hope to come back in the future.

  • Enough great things cannot be said about The Cloyster! Jan’s home was cozy and welcoming, eclectically decorated with antiques, and offered amenities far beyond my expectations. This home has everything you need for a relaxing getaway, and more. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked, beds were clean and comfortable, and the back porch offered beautiful views of the marsh. We had the best weekend and I look forward to another great trip at the Cloyster.

  • One of the loveliest AirBnB's I've been to. The hosts are gracious, the space is delightful, well decorated, outfitted, and sparkling clean - a great deck for yoga in the morning overlooking the river, the Best! We loved Driftwood Beach and Fort King George not to mention the diverse wildlife on our outings. Hope to return.

  • My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay at Serena and Dwight's cottage. Before we arrived, Serena was very responsive and informative as we coordinated check in. The property was beautiful and fully stocked with all of the amenities promised. We cooked dinner both nights using some of the available cookware and dishes, and lounged on the comfortable furniture in the evenings. We watched the sunset from the dock both nights of our stay while lying on the hammock, which was an incredibly peaceful experience. We plan to visit again soon, and we highly recommend Serena and Dwight's place as a relaxing getaway.

    Brad2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is incredibly beautiful. Serena and Delight are wonderful and both talented artists, one with his craftsmanship (he built the place) and the other a painter. They were incredibly responsive and accommodating. I asked them if we might be able to turn up the water heater and while we were out that day Dwight had replaced the water heater!!! Wow. The dock is a wonderful spot to have your coffee the morning and watch birds. We would definitely come back!

    Jessica2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • we had a very nice experience at Serena and Dwight’s cottage. they are quality people with just the right amount of availability when needed but yet they give you ‘your space’ as well. when *nearing* the property, BEFORE you reach the cottage and the property you will be staying on, some of the surrounding area is not kept up as well as it could be. (not the host property, before you get there). also, as someone else mentioned, you can hear and see (far off) I-95 in the distance; but this didnt bother us in the least, not even by my wife who normally notices these types of things. once on the property, there is their main house and then the separate rental cottage where guests stay. it is situated on a ridge sorta above the river, and it goes down to the river, that gives a nice view. i brought my very small fishing skiff /kayak sized boat (weighs ~100lbs) and Dwight even helped me launch it here on the property into the Darien River. The cottage is small as described in the listing but for a couple, it is very nice. very clean, wifi, 2 TVs w/cable as well as online channel access, full kitchen w/large fridge, queen bed, pull out sofa, and washer/dryer, cabinets fully stocked, coffee, paper towels, bath towels, heat and ac that works well, ceiling fans and more. as for fishing, the fish didnt want to cooperate this time for me, except for catfish, but maybe next time. it was February, after all. the river’s current is strong with some flotsam in the water (after heavy rains as of late?), so swimming is not advised. (and again, it was February), but the dock hammock, hammock chair and floating portion of the dock were big hits, as was the deck at the front of the cottage, with river views. there us a chimnea and some other guest sitting areas (and a coming outdoor kitchen) over the large property (maybe 2-3 acres)?). we used the cottage as a base to some local seafood restaurants, to drive down to jekyll island for biking, and st. simons island for dinner one day, then similar for a visit to Savannah and Tybee. we would stay here again. it is priced right. Dwight and Serena were wonderful hosts and so kind. we feel like we made some new friends in them. :-)

  • We’ve stayed at a fair number of AirBnBs. This was by far one of our greatest experiences. Most of the time a place has trouble living up to the pictures and description. In this case, they don’t come close to doing it justice. It’s just a Wow factor from the moment you arrive. It’s immaculately kept, full of wonderful art by Serena, and interestingly and cozily constructed by Dwight, who built the place. The view is magnificent out over the marsh. It’s genuinely tranquil. Serena and Dwight are wonderful hosts. We had a strong sense of privacy, but they were always quickly available if needed. We got great local information that served us well. Darien was lovely, and we spent all day one day wandering its streets and shops and enjoying the truly terrific food. We can’t wait to return. What a gem. Five stars across the board.

    Joseph2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t be happier with our stay. The cottage is well-stocked with anything you need and immaculate. We will definitely return for another extended weekend.

    Reggie2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and sparkling clean. The dock was peaceful and so inviting, and Serena and Dwight went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. We ate at B&Js- unbelievably good and only $9 for the buffet. I can't wait to go back to Darien!

    Kelly2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Serena and her husband are excellent host. She greeted us with a warm welcome and was very helpful with information. The place is very private and tranquil. The ground and scenery are beautiful. The home has everything you could possibly need. The hammocks were the perfect added bonus and the beach was just a short ride away. We'd definitely pick this spot again.

Shellman Bluff is a peaceful, picturesque fish camp village that retains its distinctive charm. Quaint, screened fishing cottages sit back among oaks festooned with Spanish moss. All the dirt roads of the quiet village seem to lead inevitably to the high bluff that overlooks the Broro and Julienton rivers. Winding along the edge of the high bluff is another sandy road that offers one of the best coastal views in Georgia. In the morning, the sun rises from behind Harris Neck.
The community dock is private, but there are 3 public docks close by. Use of golf cart included go explore:-) Single Burner Portable Propane Cooker Fish Fry Wok Boil Crab Seafood for your use after a day of crabbing.
  • Great, quiet place to stay. Beautiful area! Hope to visit again! Super quick responses from host.

  • What a spectacular place! Being able to go out on the dock every morning and evening to watch the sunrise and sunset was a real treat. Great photo opportunities for the bird lovers out there, too. The house was huge and a great bargain for anyone traveling with family. Super kitchen with everything you need. We will be coming back for sure!

    Alex2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a fabulous time. My husband and son caught so many blue crabs, fish and some shrimp lol They were delicious. The River House is very comfy and had a full stock kitchen. The house was clean. Plenty of room for the entire family. The baby had plenty of room to explore. If your a reader...there are plenty of books for you to read..I read the story of Sapelo that talks about Sapelo islands past history...truly amazing. The AC/Heating works great! Wifi works great and definitely needed since service is almost nil lol Can't wait to book our next get away

    Jacqueline2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of those places that you secretly want to squirrel away for yourself and hoard it. Waking up every morning to a spectacular sunrise right outside the window, peace, quiet, tranquility.... it has it all!! The dock was an awesome place we spent a lot of time on. It was great to watch the local birdlife, and we even spotted a manatee swimming through the grass between the dock and the house. The fishing was good on the dock, we caught several really nice whiting, a trout, a flounder, a sheepshead, and more stingrays than we could keep up with. We sighted a pair of roseate spoonbills, and countless sea birds!! We were visited daily on the dock by a bait stealing gull, and bold, noisy grackels. We were able to throw cast nets and catch all the bait we needed. The crab traps were great, and we brought back numerous, tasty blue crabs!! The house was furnished with many beautiful antiques, and was very clean and spacious. We really enjoyed congregating on the back deck and just watching the tides come and go. It's definitely a place we would enjoying returning to time and time again!!! Karen is a super host and answers any questions you could have. Thank you Karen for such a fabulous place!!!

Cottage on the River and Marsh - Great Views, Quiet Area, Very Peaceful River Tide cottage is both waterfront and marshfront. In remote, Shellman Bluff, GA, it's just 12 minutes from I-95 and 20 minutes to the small towns of Richmond Hill and Darien. 40 min from Fletc. Best of all, it's just 40 minutes to Savannah or St. Simons Island. Features: WIRELESS INTERNET Roku and cable TV. Pet friendly (PET FEE)(Three night minimum during high season)
Our home is not fancy, but it's more than comfortable, always spotless and you can trust that we've thought of everything. There are ample stocks of glassware, cookware, dishes, pots/pans, towels, sheets and so many small touches. But in the end, visiting here is all about the water, the marsh views, and the dock. The home is on a wide tidal creek just 300' from the White Chimney river that leads to the Intra-Coastal Waterway (ICW) and Sapelo Island. The water is navigable much of, but not all of the day. It comes and goes twice daily with the tides. At high tide, the water is 6 feet deep and feels very protected at this end of the creek. For boaters, there is a deep water public ramp 1/2 mile from the house... you can see it from our dock. Also, we keep four kayaks and several floaties for your use as well. Getting out on the marsh in a kayak or swimming in the fresh salt water is one of the best reasons to visit the area. (Be sure read up on the tides before you go out!) Things To Do: e-mail us for an activities list. For shoppers, the 'Tanger outlet Mall is 30 min away. Finally, enjoy our 'corn hole' games, croquet, and bocce games. Be sure to use our kayaks on the river. Amazingly, The New York Times travel editor visited Shellman Bluff in 2006. You can Google 'AMERICAN JOURNEYS; Shifting Sands and a Slow Pace on the Georgia Coast' to see the article. Come and enjoy (Ask us about our pet fee.)
  • We really enjoyed this wonderful getaway on the water. If you want to relax, this is the spot. My kids found enough on the property to pack a 12 hour day between the kayaks, Fishing, crabbing, firepit and chasing fiddler crabs. Best part of our 2020 quarantine. The place was clean and well taken care of. Linda was awesome and super helpful!

    Anthony2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was very nice to find us a house at the last minute. She even let us check in early and check out late. She also bought toys for my children to play with. The house has a marsh behind it so you can kayak and fish.

  • We spent two nights here and loved both the place and the area. Everything was as described. The place was comfortable, clean, and had a great dock with a nice view. There was lots of information in the house on what to do and see in the area. Linda was quick to respond to any questions and a terrific host. We hope to come back again; it was cold and we didn't get to use the kayaks. However it would be a great point to kayak from to explore the marsh, bird watch, etc. I definitely recommend this place!

Directly adjoining the property to the rear, and across the road in front, is the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. This is one of the last great wild places on earth, and the Georgia marshes, tidal rivers, barrier islands and Atlantic Ocean beyond are spectacular examples of some of the greatest beauty on the planet. You can see wildlife that is unmatched anywhere, from Endangered Species Wood Storks, to alligators large and small, to dolphins, to thousands of migratory birds, to deer....and so on and so on !!
  • Wow! This new, coastal ,tabby duplex (2 units) nestled within the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, which consists of almost 3,000 acres of protected lands, was in a great, nature lovers, isolated location. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking, biking (with our own bikes) and just driving through this refuge. The rear, SHARED, screened in porch is the access point for both units . Wifi, HVAC, high ceilings, abundant windows were all appreciated!

  • Henry’s place is in the perfect location right across from the Refuge. It is modern and spotless. There are folding chairs to take along if you want sit and enjoy the birds in the refuge. The screened in porch was wonderful and we spent most of the time out there and had our meals out there also. Please note though that there is no stove. He had a microwave, coffee pot and toaster oven along with a large fridge with big freezer and a dishwasher. Be sure and remember this when you plan your meals. We highly recommend this cottage for your trip to Harris Neck Refuge. We will definitely be back.

My house is a lovely two story log house with lots of character in a very scenic location on the edge of Georgia's breathtaking marsh from the master bedroom upstairs available for rent The rustic cabin intrigues both women and men both inside and out. It is decorated inside with outdoorsy items and wildlife art paintings resembling a fishing and hunting cabin, which it still is! The neighborhood is quiet, especially at night. 2nd bedroom for 2 available at airbnb.com/rooms/32742453.
Master bedroom has king sized bed with two bedside tables with lamps, two living room type upholstered chairs and dresser with mirror, closet. There is a private door directly into the shared upstairs full bathroom with unique ship's porthole window, vanity, and shower/tub combination.
From my deck and master bedroom, living room, kitchen, and downstairs full bath, I have the best view in the State of Georgia! I can see across the marsh to 30 feet deep Atwood River, where shrimp boats and tug boats pass. Beyond that, I can see the Intracoastal Waterway with passing yatchs, shrimp boats, sail boats, speed boats, and an occasional barge. Beyond that are Patterson Island, Little Sapelo Island, Big Sapelo Island, Doboy Sound, the Sapelo Lighthouse, and the Atlantic Ocean. I have a small dock on a tidal canal which allows a boat of 28 feet or less and kayaks to come into the house once a day and once a night at high tide. The Sapelo Island Ferry is just around the corner from my house, and is also visible off my deck. There is a crude launching area for boats including kayaks 16 feet or less on my canal off the causeway, and a full length boat lift and dock at a public marina four miles from my house. McIntosh County is a bird watcher's paradise on the Colonial Coast Birding Trail. Wading birds and occasional shore beach birds can be seen in the marsh in front of my deck and from the nearby causeway, and sea gulls and pelicans over Atwood River 1100 feet away. Neonatal song birds pass through my yard and woods. Wood storks roost in a freshwater pond in walking distance of my house, fly by, and nest in the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge in northern McIntosh County. Just south of Darien is the State Altamaha Waterfowl refuge where many varieties of ducks and other waterfowl feed and roost, as well as the mighty Altamaha River Biosphere being preserved by the Nature Conservancy and other non-profit land preservation organizations working with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. McIntosh County is also a freshwater and saltwater fishing paradise for bridge, dock, inshore and offshore charter fishing available 15 miles away. There are numerous public launching areas and marinas with boat lifts for boats over 28 feet long, most of which sell bait and tackle. Hunting opportunities in season on public areas or by guided hunts include deer, wild hog, ducks, marsh hens, and even alligators!
  • Jim was an excellent host and was very accommodating! The home is well-kept and very cozy. The view from the house is wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here the next time you visit the area!

  • Jim's place is close to the Sapelo Island ferry, so we were able to spend the night and be only 5 minutes from the dock. It would be great for a weekend kayak or biking adventure. By far the best feature of Nina's Place is Jim Morrison! He knows so much history of the area and Sapelo Island. The master bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

  • Jim was so nice ! We truly loved his place ! It was quite and peaceful. He was friendly and had great personality. We enjoyed his stories . We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Jim!!

  • We loved every minute of our stay with Jim!! The Carbs were amazing!! Fishing and fun!! He was knowledgeable and his tours were fun!! See you soon our new friend!!

  • It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Morrison. We felt right home immediately. The log cabin was very comfy with a beautiful view of the marsh and the islands beyond. We also enjoyed Jim's history stories and interesting tales.

  • Thank you Mr. Morrison, we enjoyed or stay before and after our adventure to Sapelo island. Great host and tour guide for the island.. great choice for a tour guide for the island if you want his unique perspective. You could take the state run tour with everyone else on a bus but you will probably not get this unique tour guide and his personal stories and his unique perspectives. You get a private tour with Jim’s take on history, wildlife and for me hunting. House is great and the room is huge with a lounging area in the room with a king size bed, bathroom is shared but we were the only one using it.

  • I highly recommend Jim as a great local guide and polite southern gentleman host. I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Morrison's storytelling about many topics including the neighboring fascinating island of Sapelo. Jim is actually a tour guide at Sapelo Island. I'd also highly recommend Jim for those who enjoy fishing and hunting. He has a wealth of local hunting and fishing understanding. His location is fantastic. The house is situated very privately with a sweeping view of the marshes and islands. It is situated just a hop and skip away from the ferry boat to Sapelo Island. The ferry leaves and returns usually three times a day. This is similar to St. Mary's and Cumberland Island's ecology, but seemingly undiscovered. I stayed in the master bedroom and it was a great hideaway. There were windows facing two directions with an incredible view of the marsh and islands. Lovely to hear and see all of the marsh birds. For those who want to completely get away from it all, this is ideal. Plenty of super interesting local books in the guest room to read. Grocery store and nice restaurants are just down the road. There's a nice walk to take from the house.

  • Overall we had an excellent stay the host checked us in in a timely manner and the rooms were very comfortable! The bed was definitely the best part! Very clean, right by the water and very comfortable. The only issue we had was in the morning a screaming baby in the room next door which made the very thin walls horrible for sleeping. We were woken up and couldn't go back to sleep for hours. Other than that! Awesome!

  • James is a consummate host, very hospitable and friendly. The house has all the necessary amenities and more, including wood for a fire. James is in touch quickly if anything comes up. He also respected our privacy when he had to come around to the house to mow the lawn. I would recommend him to anyone. Also the house is roomy and comfortable with great chairs and tables, beds and couches and a TV in every bedroom! A well-equipped kitchen and great laundry room were joys. Plus, the big porch and yard and view are wonderful.

This is an upstairs unit on Golf Course. Features stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, screened patio, granite counter tops throughout, tile flooring in baths and kitchen, built-in cabinetry, and more. New swimming pool, gated entrance, golf cart charging garage, and grilling area. Desirable location close to local restaurants, grocery, gas, marinas, golf course and more. Boat storage available in area and short ride to restaurants, marinas, stores, and more.
In the morning, the sun rises from behind Harris Neck, lighting the green marsh and dappling the tidal rivers while birds roost in distant hammock islands. Shellman Bluff was the location of Shellman Plantation, operated by William Cooke until his death in 1861. South of Shellman Bluff is Sutherland Bluff, the scene of Revolutionary War shipbuilding activity and the antebellum Brailsford Plantation. Today, it is Sutherland Bluff Plantation, a community overlooking the river and Sapelo Hammock Golf Club. Golf course is public and is exceptional!
Small Quaint fishing village with great local casual restaurants/bars. Two marinas. Just a short ten minute drive to Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. Great area for biking and walking. Friendly folks. Beautiful sunsets. Great golfing at adjacent Sapelo Hammock Golf Club. Only two stores: Dollar General and the Enmarket station. Great fish market at Dockside Seafood or Shell Creek (further away). Fun local dive bar, Hunter's Cafe and more family oriented great seafood at Speed's Kitchen (BYOB - no pour fee).
  • Our stay at Kim’s Condo was outstanding. It was very clean and comfortable and was convenient to everything that the local coastal area has to offer. I highly recommend this facility and look forward to returning in the future.

  • Very charming and clean condo right across from the wonderful swimming pool! There's also a screened back porch that overlooks the golf course. The unit is quiet and clean with all the comforts of home. Would definitely stay again! Thanks Kim!

  • Kim's place was beautiful. Everything was spotless. The paint/decor was modern. The master bathroom was absolutely amazing. The kids had a blast at the pool. The place had everything we needed. We drove to the beaches at St. Simon's Island, Georgia, Hilton Head, South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida. We definitely recommend Sal's pizza and Mullet Bay restaurants in St. Simon's Island. Kim was very attentive to our needs. Way to go, Kim! You rock!

It was clean, there was plenty of the space for our family of 7 (3 adults, 1 teen and 2 babies) and we loved the full kitchen. The pool was fantastic too! I would highly recommend staying! • This adorable cottage was perfect for our one night stay. It has everything we needed, a super comfy bed and a gorgeous back yard. The owner, Janice, was very accommodating and super nice. We would love to stay again one day if we are on the area!

  • Oaks of Eden was a great place to stay! We appreciated all of the advice about local things to do.

    Alex2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable secluded cottage was perfect for anniversary getaway with my hubby. About 9.5 miles from tiny town of Darien. We paddled the Altamaha River with kayaks we brought. Janice gave me helpful tips and the cottage had lots of maps and guides for local area attractions. We also ate at Skippers Fish Camp and had wine and grapefruit beer at Horse Creek Winery Tasting Room in nearby Darien. We visited Savannah which was about an hour drive. The people are so nice and friendly in the area. The cottage property had a larger house a couple hundred feet away across the driveway which looked to be under renovation, but nobody was there or working on it while we were there. Larger house in the back of property with access to salt marsh viewing platform/dock was also empty when we were there. Perfect place for us. The only concern I had was no carbon monoxide detector, which Airbnb warned about early on, but I was not aware the stove was gas, must not have read that detail. I would definitely recommend bringing your own carbon monoxide detector.

    Kelly2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was great! Extremely comfortable in the midst of a sanctuary. The neighborhood people were welcoming and friendly! It is a bit out of Darien but well worth the drive. I enjoyed a Saturday night glass of wine at the fire pit over looking the marsh as well as a Sunday morning walk across the causeway with a great group of ladies, thank you Mary. The oaks of eden cottage was a perfect home away from home for the month. I highly recommend!

  • Henry's place was much more than I expected in every way. Incredibly clean, charming, everything was new or very lightly used and the surrounding nature is a definite plus. Henry was kind and very knowledgeable of the area l.

    Chavon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Henry is a great host. He responds quickly to questions. The duplex is clean and comfortable; the location is marvelous for any nature lover. If you hope to do much cooking, that will take some creativity: no stovetop. There is a beautiful new full refrigerator, but for cooking, a microwave and convection/toaster oven only. I took an electric kettle with me....

    Janice2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great visit. Perfect location for anyone looking to visit Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge and any of the other attractions close by. The cabin had everything we needed and was clean upon arrival. We will definitely be back!

    Lisa2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is wonderful! Surrounded by nothing but nature and quiet, yet still close to civilization. Plenty of local tips, and the wifi works great! My son loved the screened in back porch. The only slight hiccup we had was that based off the description, we expected a full kitchen (even if small). Hey, at least now we know you can cook eggs and breakfast sausage in a microwave!

    Alexander And Jennifer2019-12-29T00:00:00Z

Camp Nina is located in one of the special places of the world, with the best view in the State of Georgia! It's right around the corner from the Sapelo Island Visitors Center and Ferry Dock. I give half day and all day tours of Sapelo Island that can be booked through airbnb experiences page by searching for Darien, GA, USA. There are numerous seafood restaurants in easy driving distance, and it's only 35 minutes from the beaches of Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island and it's night spots, etc.
Camp Nina is one of the few places in McIntosh County where the Atlantic Ocean can be seen off my deck, along with Doboy Sound, saltwater rivers and creeks where shrimp boats and tug boats dock upstream, large and small pleasure craft speed by along with sailboats and barges on the Intracoastal Waterway, with a clear view of Sapelo Island, Little Sapelo Island, Patterson Island, and many more across miles of green marsh grass that turns golden brown in the winter. The bedroom is upstairs. There is a shared full bathroom with unique ship's porthole window and bathtub/shower on the second floor off the hallway and downstairs off the living room with a step in shower.
Located in a rural setting with both pine trees and palms lining the marsh front, from my deck you can see three offshore islands, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Sapelo Island Ferry docks, Doboy Sound, and the Atlantic Ocean!
  • Jim’s place is wonderful! And he is a great host, I wish I could have spoken to him more during my stay there! But I was biking through the area so I had to keep up with the sunlight Darien is a great place to visit, really nice water and nature all over :)

    Forest2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jim is an awesome host! Knows tons about the area as well as the history. Makes every effort to make sure you can do the things you want to do. Comfortable sleeping area. Beautiful view of the marsh. Really enjoyed our stay.

    Mark2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jim is a good host and a thoughtful person. He knows a lot of history about the area and I appreciate everything we talked about. He is pretty laid back, which fits perfect with the ocean breeze of salted air, gazing out at the horizon, in a rocking chair. Sit back and enjoy the tranquility.

    Mac2019-07-09T00:00:00Z

    Steven2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Good value for the price. Very private.

    Caleb2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is an out-of-the-hoopla little gem that's quiet & peaceful. Jim is a wonderful host who is very knowledgeable about the area and offers tours of Sapelo Island. If you are looking for some localized Zen that is affordable and easy going then this is the place for you. It is a short drive from the more commercialized St. Simon's Island and Jekyll Island is quite close as well. A lot of bang for your buck! It's not on the beaches but it's close and offers a unique experience of the surrounding areas.

The beds and linens are excellent and the place is clean and comfortable. The spa pool was not set up for use (maybe next time :) ) but that back porch is dreamy!

  • Liza's home was a lovely, clean home located deep in the marsh of Georgia. Our family of 7, 4 children and 3 adults, stayed there on our way to a cruise out of Jacksonville. It was perfect because it was quaint and quiet and not far off the path. Liza called us the night before we left and gave us some tips to make our trip smooth. We were very impressed with the cleaniness of the home and the locals were very polite and helpful. We would definately recommend to others!

  • Trendy boutique hotel in the quaint town of Darien. Wonderful waterfront view and location. A big plus is being steps away from Skippers Fish Camp, an amazing seafood restaurant.

    Susanne2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with great views at a great price. Easy access to St. Simons, Sea Island and Jekyll without paying the expensive island rates. Room was very clean. Loved having drinks and yummy food on the deck at Skipper’s behind the inn, watching the baby alligators while the sun set on the water. Quiet hours begin at 10 pm, which we found annoying - tv off and speak only in a whisper due to noise carrying between rooms - but that’s just a personal preference.

  • My son and I enjoyed our stay and getting to know some of the locals. It was great allowing him to walk to breakfast alone down the street, he felt grownup.

    Anna2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really nice. The furnishings are tastefully done and the lobby is very welcoming. Great location, super view, SUPER clean and convenient to restaurants. I have stayed here twice on trips to and from Florida and hope to again in the future. It's quiet, you have a nice back balcony from which you can see the river. I felt safe and highly recommend this place. I have eaten at Skipper's Fish Camp and enjoyed both meals, a breakfast voucher is included for Zio Carlos Italian Café - get the breakfast sandwich!! Also, I had lunch at B and J's Steaks and Seafood. It's a local place with local flavor and the food it very good. There are 7 rooms in this boutique hotel. Each one has a balcony with seating for 2.

  • Such a cute, quaint little gem off the 95. My mother, son and I were on our way down to Florida when we stayed here overnight. It’s right by the water and has a few local restaurants nearby. The room was spotless, as well as unique and charming. A little noisy with the cars from the restaurant across the street, but nothing terrible! Thanks for a great stay!

  • Off the beaten path for sure. I liked the fact I was away from the craziness of traffic , crowds of people. We drove to the Fish Dock restaurant for a freshly caught fish dinner which was great! Next day to Tybee Beach for crab legs! Loved our day. Then back to the house for an early night. Will go again for sure. Thanks to Linda Michelle...our super host!!😀

    Kathy2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s home was such a unique hidden gem. We loved waking up to the peacefulness of the bluff. The perfect getaway. Very stylish home and perfectly nestled amongst the oaks.

    Amy2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Linda Michelle, is super quick on her responses. It was a perfect spot sitting right on the marsh. We wished it had been a bit warmer so we could have taken the kayaks out. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well stocked (just missing a wine bottle opener:) We would definitely stay here again!

    Treva2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Linda Michelle was an outstanding host from start to finish. The property was amazing with beautiful views. It was super private and the neighbors were very nice. We were very happy with the accommodations and to top it off there was even a pack and play for our 5 month old and that was a huge plus. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

  • I’ve stayed in a LOT of airbnb’s now, And I think this is probably my favorite stay ever. The view is absolutely magical. The apartment is very tastefully uncomfortably decorated. It’s all just a little slice of heaven. And Linda is precisely what hosting on Airbnb is about. Friendly, incredibly hospitable, very quickly to reply to everything and someone who clearly loves being a perfect host and making your stay perfect. While I want to keep this place is secret, I’ll be booking the place again early to ensure I can come back!!

    Tom2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is absolutely charming! Linda is a really great host, who answered all of our questions promptly. The house itself is so darling, and the surrounding views were magnificent. We spent most of our time in the master suite, and on the wrap around balcony. This is the perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Would absolutely recommend staying here, and will probably be back!

  • This place is amazing! We had a relaxing time! The bird watching is awesome right from the deck! If you are looking for a clean, relaxing place overlooking an estuary , this is it! Centrally located to Savannah and St Simons Island. Linda is an amazing host and has chickens and 2 adorable mini horses on the property.

  • Our stay at Linda's place was absolutely amazing! Being able to wake up and watch the sunrise over Blackbeard Creek was a unique and beautiful experience. I highly recommend taking the kayaks out and exploring the creek. This house is a wonderful place if you want a relaxing stay with a convenient location. The house was very clean and comfortable. It has everything you could need. The wrap-around deck is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Linda is a great host! She provided us with good local recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this stay!!!

    Anna2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was the ideal low-key, relaxing getaway! We laid in bed for hours in the morning watching the sunrise, and then spent a few more hours watching the dolphins from the balcony. The stars and NYE fireworks, again visible from bed, were the icing on the cake. (Not to mention the rocket we saw having just launched from the Kennedy Space Center!) We hadn’t anticipated to hear the sounds of the road, but this place was so serene that we didn’t mind too much. Those east-facing, floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom are enough to go back again. Pro tip: if you take the kayaks out, keep in mind the changing tide :)

    Erin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to have an adventure! We caught blue crab, kayaked through the marsh, explored Jekyll Island, and woke up to a beautiful sunrise. Lots of wildlife just feet away from the home and beautiful views from the 2nd floor balcony. If you’re looking for a unique stay and an adventure this is it! Would recommend to others! Linda and Mya (family dog) are super friendly.

This is a comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood graced with Spanish Moss draped Live Oaks. It is walking/ bicycling distance from downtown Darien, historic squares, parks, and waterfront as well as shops and restaurants. Kayak and bike rentals are available close by. The home is one hour south of Savannah and 30 minutes to the lovely beaches of Jekyll and Sapelo Islands. This area is certainly a birder's paradise!
Frog Hammock has an open plan common area with a barstool counter in the fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and front and rear sitting/ living rooms. One bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower. The other two share a bathroom with tub off of the common area. There is a laundry room with washer/dryer. There is a front porch with a glider to enjoy the Live Oak. Here is a private review we received.."We had a wonderful time and felt right at home. The "seclusion" was right there within the city limits. Lots of places to enjoy the wildlife and for fishing. The neighbors were friendly, but allowed us our privacy. We hope to live in or around Darien someday (after retirement). The art in your place was wonderful. The azaleas were beautiful. Thank you for sharing." Dolly and Edward
Darien is a charming historic town on the waterfront. The house is conveniently located for walking, bicycling, or driving to many places to sightsee, beach comb, bird watch, and eat local southern fare. The St. Andrews Cemetery is but a few hundred yards away and is quite a beautiful place… all in an easy bike ride from Darien and Frog Hammock. It's a really great historic place to visit and ‘guided’ trips can be arranged. • Frog Hammock was a great home base for coastal exploration: 12 minutes down the road from the Sapelo Island Visitors Center / Ferry Dock, and approx. 1/2 hour to the beaches of both Jekyll and St. Simons. Kitchen area is spacious and functional for preparing group/family meals. Once the patio area is fully finished too, I'm sure this spot will be an even more desirable chill/vacation spot!

Welcome to Tabby on the Coast! This rustic, cozy home will appeal to anyone seeking the beauty and tranquility of Georgia's coastal low country, while catering specifically to the desires of the sportsman.
The panoramic view from the master bedroom allows guests to escape into the vastness of spartina saltmarsh, tidal creeks, and Georgia's Golden Isles. Cast a line or drop a crab trap (trap available for use, included in rate) or tie your boat up to your personal deep water dock! Take quick boat rides to the St. Catherine's Island beach (6 mi), open ocean/gulf stream access (7 mi), or sunset dolphin cruises here in Sunbury Creek. Redfish, trout, and flounder drops are all around! Explore the winding tidal creeks with your kayak or paddleboard, or grab your book and lounger and soak up the sun on the dock. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from a spacious back porch before heading into Savannah or the Sunbury Crab Company for dinner, drinks, and entertainment. The home boasts two bedrooms with connecting full baths, a third bedroom/study, a vaulted-ceiling living room with flat screen (no cable) TV and Bluetooth speaker, and a large back porch with a wonderful view. Free WiFi access means you can stream your favorite shows or movies through your device or get work done while away from home. With a fully-equipped kitchen, we recommend stockpiling all your crabs, fish, and shrimp for a fresh low country boil at the end of your trip, a local tradition! The dock: You will have sole access for the duration of your visit. The stationary upper portion (20'x20') is ideal for laying out in the sun or for fishing, crabbing, and cast netting. The floating dock (20'x10') features a covered boat slip with a low tide depth of 4'. You can launch your boat at the Sunbury public boat ramp or hoist from your trailer at Halfmoon Marina, both just a few miles from the dock.
Nearby, visitors may enjoy Youman's Pond for bird and alligator watching, Sunbury Crab Company restaurant, historic Fort Morris, and Sunbury Cemetery. Atkins Motors on Islands Highway offers golf cart rentals to help ensure you get the most out of your visit. You will be staying in a quiet coastal community. Be courteous of your neighbors and please limit noise. Please note that the 0.8 miles leading up to the house is sand, small cars may have difficulty leaving or entering the neighborhood following heavy rains. Also, for spring and fall visitors, sand gnats can be irritating while outside. Remember to pack bug spray!
  • Our family had an awesome time here! Such a peaceful place; the water, fishing, sunrise & sunset, watching the dolphins daily, nature, horseshoes, etc. The host, Jackson is super nice & good communication.. Also, the neighbors are all so friendly. This is truly a place to unwind & simply enjoy.

    Jamie2020-05-03T00:00:00Z

    Dee2020-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! Amazing location with awesome fishing, dolphins daily, and perfect weather!

    Bryant2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a slice of heaven. Waking up to that view every day does the soul good. Our teenagers and our 4 year old all had fun. The dock is amazing and we spent most afternoons just hanging on the water and fishing. Great breeze on the water made the hot weather perfect and helped with pesky gnats. We managed to catch 1 blue crab, several whiting, which were delish, and two accidental stingrays that were sent back to the waters. House is modest and cozy. No cable, but internet is fast enough to stream content with just a few blips. We hooked up our Amazon Firestick and watched movies each evening. Did not get to explore local restaurants due to Coronavirus, but that’s why we chose this place. We wanted a secluded place, close enough to not make stops, where we could hideout for a few days. We picked the right place. We can’t wait to go back.

  • We had an AMAZING time at Linda’s place. It was beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and she added a lot of special touches to the property. She responded quickly every time we reached out and she went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and felt welcomed. We traveled during the COVID-19 scare so seclusion was important to us. This place was above our expectations. Even though social distancing was required at the time, we were still able to kayak, bike through the National Park, sit on the dock with a beautiful view and even stay out at night together by a campfire after grilling our dinner outside. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and I wanted to do something special, but we were a little limited as to what we could do since everywhere was closed. She went out of her way to make him feel special and provided multiple suggestions of things to do, while still staying away from crowds. The dog, chickens and miniature horses on the property were an added plus! We would definitely recommend visiting her place to anyone who loves a little peace and quiet in a beautifully decorated farmhouse cottage set in the marshlands of coastal Georgia. Our visit to Linda’s place felt like we were visiting an old friend. Very warm and inviting.

  • This setting is serene and beautiful. The sunrise is beautiful from the deck. Linda is warm, personable, and laid-back. She and her husband are very accomodating. The place is decorated beautifully with an open floor plan. A very great place to stay. A quiet town close to Jeckyl Island. We loved the animals!

  • Wonderful slice of heaven among the salt marshes! Look no further for the right base from which to visit the Georgia coast. Easy to get to, quiet, excellent communication, comfy beds, kayaks for exploring - this property has it all. Linda's recommendations for fresh fish, dining, touring, and R&R were spot on. Fantastic stay!

  • This house is so clean, roomy, and stocked with everything you need. It's the perfect place if you are looking to get away and relax. The house has a private dock where you will see so much wildlife, and Linda, the awesome and helpful host, has crab baskets, shrimp nets, and fishing rods for you to use. If you stay here, you must visit the Fish Dock restaurant (Linda suggested and boy was she right!) for some delicious hushpuppies! It's central location is perfect and allows you to visit larger cities like Savannah, Brunswick, and Jekyll Island in less than 45 minutes. My husband and I loved every minute of our stay here and are already talking about our next visit.

    Josh2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Southern hospitality at its finest! Linda was an awesome host! Not only did she let us check in early but she also called as soon as we got there to make sure everything was satisfactory. She also gave us tons of tips on the local favorites. Accommodations were great and response times were super fast! Already looking forward to our next visit and plan on staying with Linda again!

  • Awesome home in a great location! So close to many beautiful places. Hosts truly made us feel at home and that isn’t always easy to do when your away from “home”. Had a great time crabbing from the dock. Loved watching the sand crabs play and also had a turtle visit us on the porch. Surrounded by nature and it’s beauty. Would definitely recommend!

The views of the water were AMAZING!! The house is located close to shellmans bluff which was perfect for the st Patrick’s day festivities. We will be back for sure!

  • Peter was a great host! Tried really hard to provide anything we needed, always available. The island was such a unique experience. It was like going back in time. The island is not commercialized at all which is what we were looking for. We brought our own mountain bikes and loved to adventure all over the island. We loved kayaking and he even let us borrow the truck to transport them. For those that want an away from the crowds, peaceful yet adventurous vacation, this is perfect!

    Lydia2020-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Keeping it real on Sapelo! Peter and JR take care of you like a favorite cousin they can’t wait to have visit. We were greeted at the ferry and were helped with our luggage and weekend supplies. We were driven to a cheerful modular double wide in Hog Hammock surrounded by pines and a few scattered friendly neighbors. The cottage is immaculate and spacious. It is perfect for a salty sandy locale, where everything can be quickly swept off or wiped up. Small decks are on the front and back doors where we enjoyed sunrise coffee and nights talking under the stars. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and has high-end appliances, which we appreciated since there are no restaurants and we came prepared to make delicious meals. There was bottled water in the refrigerator but surprisingly unnecessary as the well water was excellent from the tap. The bathrooms were spacious, and the master bath has a garden tub. The shower is small and elevated, which could be hard for folks with mobility concerns. The beds were deliciously comfortable after a long day exploring. Sapelo island is one of the last sea islands along the South Atlantic coast that hasn’t been ruined by developers. This is the real deal, a back-in-time experience of simple folks making a living in an extraordinary natural landscape of salt marsh, beach, and forest. We appreciated that it is not a developer’s version of quaint fake rustic with ice cream stores and golf courses, rather we found an island where we can walk or paddle for miles and see no buildings, hear no voices, and experience the unsullied beauty of a natural island ecosystem. The traces of humanity ranged from ancient Indian mounds to 19th century manor and lighthouse, to vacation homes and simple local residences, with more dirt roads than paved. We were pleased to see efforts to restore historic buildings as well as native ecosystems, including the control of destructive feral hogs and the reintroduction of fire through controlled burning essential to coastal forests. The community is apart from destinations, so visitors should not expect to walk from their door to the beach, which is why on Sapelo there are miles of unspoiled beach and natural sand dune communities. The inconveniences protect every reason we wanted to be there, and the travel to each destination helped us find more wonders along the way. Wildlife viewing was AWESOME! Just outside of Hog Hammock were nesting bald eagles and a wood stork rookery. We saw white pelican and least tern in the marsh. Along the nature trail the trees were full of warblers, kinglets, gnatcatchers, flycatchers, nuthatches, and woodpeckers. Ponds had snowy and great egrets, mergansers, ibis, tricolor heron, great blue herons. Up in the wildlife area we saw a gorgeous diamondback rattlesnake. Dolphin caught fish in the channels. At night the stars were like layers upon layers of diamonds without city lights dulling them. We were so busy exploring the island that we did not fit in exploring the waterways. We will paddle those next time, and get some fishing in along the way. A big thank you to our hosts!! And to the lovely island residents and employees! Everyone was gracious and helpful and made us feel like part of their community.
