Romantic cottage bordering a lake, and surrounded by rolling hills, woods, and meadows. This detached cottage features all modern conveniences and boasts its own spacious garden with patio as well as a view on the lake.
“I would highly recommend the forge to anyone! Jan & Loes are the nicest couple, they were very friendly and accommodating, and became great friends! The cottage is in a stunning location if you love nature then you couldn’t ask for a better spot, and a perfect base for exploring the limousin. Expect forests, lakes, deer and rolling hills. The cottage has everything you need to escape from the city and is very tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, the bathroom is modern with a great shower. Outside there is a lovely seating area and a little pond. I enjoyed lighting the log burner every evening (my stay was in January) I will definitely be visiting Jan & Loes again. Thank you for a great holiday! Xxx”
An independant Annexe, which sleeps 2-3 that is attached but separate to the house. Organic breakfast is included. There is a kitchen, lounge, double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower and private garden. The organic/sustainable fermette raises goats, bees, chickens and seasonal vegetables and herbs. We make goats cheese, honey and herbs. We also live with a donkey, sheep, dogs and cats.....
“Lesley's annexe is a really cosy stop-off. It's off the beaten track, in an area apparently not much visited and a rural idyll. It's at the end of a terrace of old farm buildings, Lesley's home being next door. Being a pretty old, thick-walled stone building, it's totally private and a beautiful place to arrive at after a long drive. The small kitchen area that you walk into is well equiped (toaster, kettle, bottle-opener, cutlery, utensils, crockery, a variety of pans, sieve, colander etc.) and thoughtfully laid out. It could easily serve for the cooking of a full meal (four gas rings). There's a small table to eat at. The lounge part of this single room is cosy and comfortable, with sofa, armchair and a third wicker chair and a tasteful, gas-powered burner. A spiral staircase makes good use of the small space and takes you up to a single double bedroom, again, very small, but not inpractical with a lovely low window beneath the eaves. The double bed is comfortable. If you're bringing a young child, Lesley will put out a cot unless you ask her not to. - it's a modern travel cot with sheets and thin mattress also provided. Upstairs, there's also a recently fitted, decent-sized, modern bathroom with good corner bath and shower, a loo and a basin and heated towel rail. One of the highlights of our one night stay was the breakfast that Lesley hangs on the door at about 8.30a.m.: freshly baked home-made bread and hard-boiled eggs (uncooked also being an option) laid by the farm's hens. The home-made produce available to you in the kitchen also includes honey and delicious cereals, butter, milk and a variety of jams. Lesley keeps goats. . . beautfiully kept goats in a beautfiul barn, each with a name to which it will respond! Some of them are a rare Guersey breed and there's young, michievous donkey, too. Lesley is a great host. She has thought everything through so carefully but without fuss and she clearly means it when she says to ask if you need anything, whilst otherwise expecting you'll want to be left to your own devices. A terrific stay and superb value.”
Appartement à l'étage, spacieux au calme. L'adresse est 7 rue de la république à Masléon 87130.
“This was a spacious, comfortable place with good beds, a good shower, and a nice living area. We really appreciated Marylène greeting us on arrival. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a few simple meals (and even included a few items like pasta and coffee). The dishwasher and laundry machine were handy. The one inconvenience was the WiFi which was slow and required sign-in every hour. Otherwise, we had quite a nice stay.”
