Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

We renovated our old stone home to create a peaceful bedroom and large bathroom for our parents, but now it's perfectly-suited for guests. You'll have your own garden entrance, comfortable bed (choose king or twins), double sinks, shower and tub, indoor & outdoor seating, a hot Senseo drink station with mini-fridge, central heating, and ample parking including a covered area for bikes/motorcycles. Non-smokers only and no pets, please.

This beautiful and large stone house, called the "maison de mémé Jane", is ideal for a pleasant stay in peace, with family or friends, and to discover the south of the Ardèche. It is very well equipped (barbecue, air conditioning, equipped kitchen, large bedrooms) and has many outdoor spaces to have fun (swimming pool, trampoline, ping-pong, foosball, children's hut). It is ideal for 10 people but can accommodate up to 13 people.

The accommodation is quiet, in a hamlet. The village of Labeaume and the river are accessible by car in 5 minutes. The Chauvet Cave is about 18 km from the house. Many activities are available in the region for outdoor and/or thrill-seeking enthusiasts: hiking, canoeing in the Gorges de l'Ardèche or Chassezac, mountain biking, road biking, caving, canyoning, climbing, tree climbing,... You can also enjoy many markets in the area.
