Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Shillong

The place turned out to be better than what we had imagined. We came on a public holiday and somehow we were the only ones around not just in the premises, but the entire valley. The place is a comfortable stay for 1-2 nights and was arguably the highlight of our 9-day Meghalaya trip, simply because of the location - living in a well-setup cabin in a forest, looking over a river, under stars at night and by the river side in the morning. Amit was very helpful throughout, even before we had made the booking and he helped me with answers about rest of my trip. I really wanted to stay for at least a night here and it was really worth it. Because of holiday, restaurants were closed but Amit helped us find a good place to get dinner before we arrived at the place. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for an offbeat stay away from the hotels and homestays. Come for the peace it has to offer. The place has been built with a lot of love and I hope future guests can keep it that way.

I love old Assam type house and this house is perfect for me. Old houses are not easy to clean or maintain, if you are looking for a modern and sparkly clean place, this is not a place for you. I LOVE the location and the space. It takes about 7 minutes to trek up the hills to get to the busiest part of Laitumkhrah where all the actions are. The walk up and down the steep hills is part of the fun for us but, if you are not physically active, you may have a hard time catching your breath walking up the hills. I didn't have to call for a taxi but if you do need one, it's probably not a problem since it's so close to the Laitumkhrah taxi stand. The property is very spacious; 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a kitchen and a living room. There are two balconies, the back balcony has a nice view of the stadium and the front balcony receives plenty of sun for several hours each day. Perfect for sunbathing on sunny winter days. Oak Cottage was a lovely stay! Clean, cozy, and tucked away in a peaceful spot yet close to the main attractions. The hosts were helpful, and the place felt warm and inviting — perfect for a relaxing getaway in Shillong.

Had a great stay at SF Villa. The location is close to Nongthymmai and hence was convenient for our plans. All the amenities and the place were as per listing and as per photos. Would recommend the place to anyone. James also was very responsive, helpful and open to feedback. Thank you.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had a good time. Really big place in the heart of Shilong with a kind caretaker, well worth the money 🙂

Firstly, Rosalin arranged for a refrigerator at our request. It was very nice of her to add this amenity. She gave excellent contact for booking taxi , sightseeing and recommend good restaurants for lunch and dinner. We - group of 9 with kids, checked in very late, Rosalin was there to assist us at that late hour too. Each day of our stay she checked for our breakfast preferences and cooked accordingly and delivered it dot on time.She cooked special kid friendly breakfast too. She was very responsive to all our request and helped whenever she could. and kept a good variety in all 4 days. Rooms are sparkingly clean. Rosalin is a super host. Would certainly recommend her BnB. And finally, there is a foot ball net right behind. So you can sit in the balcony and enjoy a match after your sightseeing

Its a lovely place. The caretakers are very friendly and nice. They cook delicious food and make you feel at home. The owner, Anirban Saha, is extremely helpful and very prompt in responding to queries. Looking forward to the next visit.

Anne’s place was very cozy and well thought out. It has everything you’d need, including a really well-stocked kitchen. It is located about 2km from the city center, but it also has plenty of shops close by. Although it is close to the main road, the home itself is quiet and very charming. The icing on the cake are the hosts, who are extremely welcoming and help you out with anything you need. Anne also makes delicious breakfast!

The peacefulness of the location was incredible. A symphony of birdsong filled the mornings, sometimes continuing into a delightful afternoon chorus. Breathtaking views of Shillong sprawled out below offered a constant visual refresh. The open spaces were throghly enjoyed by our little one. The fresh air and ample space were a toddler's paradise.

Suzan and Kmen were wonderful hosts who were super responsive and suggested tons of options on things to do around Shillong. They also helped sort out cabs at good rates and made reservations for us at some of the local hotels. I had a lovely stay, and they were both warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend people to go here.

Spacious home . Great for hosting a family . Handy to shops . The home had almost everything you might need . Washing machine was a great bonus also 2 bathrooms . It was a comfortable stay for 12 days . Banika was always responsive to our txts. Would highly recommend especially for families . Affordable stay in Shillong .

Never expected it would be so nice. You get a friendly host, clean house and kitchen, plus free breakfast (she gave us tea, chicken patties, croissants, bananas, and some pitha/rice cakes). She even allowed an extra guest to stay, and she gave breakfast for him too. We loved the place; it was worth every penny!

We had a wonderful stay at Grace Apartments in Shillong! The location is very accessible, making it easy to get around the city. The host was extremely helpful, sharing great recommendations for local attractions and even assisting with taxi and auto rental options. They also guided us on food delivery through Swiggy and Zomato, which made things super convenient. The apartment was comfortable, and the deal we got for 3 days was excellent. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it!

Jaya is a wonderful host, incredibly helpful. The place is clean as advertised in the pictures. We wanted to book local tours to Cherrapunji and Dawki and it was quite last minute since everything gets shut down early on Christmas, she went above and beyond and asked her husband to take us to the tourist information center and ensure we get our bookings done in time. I didn’t want to leave so soon but definitely coming back to this in my next visit. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Shillong and looking for a home like place near the downtown that is well connected to local markets, restaurants etc.

The apartment was very clean and the caretaker extremely helpful and responsive. Since we stayed for a long time, the apartment was cleaned regularly and the bed linen and towels changed. All in all, a very comfortable stay. And the location, extremely central.

It was a great stay. The kitchen had all needed amenities. The bed linens provided were clean. We felt right at home. Best thing was the location which was right at the center of Laitumkhrah (it was the primary reason we stayed at this Airbnb). Thank you for hosting us!

It is a fantastic place for stay. Nightview of whole shillong from the Terrace and the resturant is the main point of stay there.
