“I have to start out with what we anticipated; my fiancé and I booked our engagement photo shoot in some overlooks nearby and searched for simply a spot to hang our hats after the shoot. What we showed up to was an unforgettable experience and an incredible property. We had planned to go to skyline drive for our shoot but it was closed due to Covid so before our arrival, I contacted the owner Douglas for any suggestions on nearby views. He promptly responded with the idea to just shoot on his farm at the Rose River Farm where we were staying, he assured me the views would be just fine for what we were looking for.. and wow did he deliver. First of all, when we arrived to the hilltop cabin/yurt we had rented, it was absolutely beautiful, clean and stocked with all essential items. We were immediately impressed and excited to stay there. Then, we pursued our photo shoot around the property and the backdrops were simply breathtaking and better than we could have hoped for. The fire in the fire pit and cheese burgers on the outdoor grill at the end of the night was the perfect way to relax after a long day. It was more than just a quick photo shoot but a great couple of days spent at Rose River Farm. As a host, Douglas was so friendly and very responsive when I had a couple of questions here and there and I really appreciated that. We are definitely planning to return to Rose River Farm in the future just for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend booking a stay at the Rose Rive Farm!”
In the heart of the Shenandoah mountains. 1 mile from White Oak Canyon and Old Rag. Perfect for the fly fisherman (lots of local streams or in the back yard is the Robinson River) or a nice quiet get-away for a couple. Once you park your car you can sit back and just listen to the river flowing in the back yard and enjoy a nice beverage next to the fire pit.
“This was our second time staying at Christa’s cabin, and once again, we had the best mini getaway! We’re already talking about booking a weekend this fall! Christa made things easy- especially as we were traveling with two dogs, which can often make things more complicated. The location was breathtakingly perfect, and the bed just as comfortable as we remembered.”

“Amazing farm stay. The hosts are helfpul and the property is beautiful. There is also a common pool to use, which did not have any people every time we went to it, so we enjoyed it a lot. Great wildlife in the farm as well. We spotted lots of birds and two harmless non-poisnous snakes. The kitchen comes stocked with oils, salt, sugar, coffee grounds etc. and has all equipments to make a full meal. We would like to come back soon to stay here!”
