A quiet base for exploring the Peaks

Raluca ElenaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Had a great week staying at Kate and Andy’s place, which is the perfect base for Peak District exploring. The Hideaway packs so much into a tiny space, and I, for one, loved the mezzanine bed! This might be different if you’re not a small woman or have mobility issues, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The shower was great after coming back from a hike, run or bike ride and although I mostly ate out for dinner, I cooked breakfast and lunch at The Hideaway with ease. Plenty to do in the local area - I enjoyed walks up Mam Tor, Kinder Scout, Derwent Edge, Monsal Head, Chee Gorge and several others within short driving distance. Thoroughly recommended!

Peverel House, Sleeps 4 (King/King or King/Twin)

LauraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our third visit to Peverel House and fifth time in Tideswell. The house is perfectly situated, walkable to a couple of pubs, a cafe, a chippy and local shops. Tideswell is peaceful and beautiful and we always enjoy the surroundings. Easy to get to local attractions, Bakewell , Buxton etc. This time we visited Matlock, Mam Tor and Derwent Dam as it was a shorter than usual visit. The house is comfortable, well thought out and perfect for our family of four with two older kids. They love the football pitch /park in the village which they can walk to safely. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Merchants Yard and breakfast at the Tideswell Lounge. All less than a few minutes walk from the house. Thank you so much for another wonderful few days.

17th century spacious limestone character cottage

MarkRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Excellent place to stay, very clean and had everything we needed. I highly recommend this cottage. Jonathan was on site if we needed any assistance and his recommendation for the local pub was spot on. Tideswell village may be small but it's got everything you need, great walks, super Italian restaurant, pubs, bakery, grocery shop, library, second hand bookshop and its peaceful. It's location is an ideal for Chatsworth, Blue John caverns, Lady Bower Dam, Bakewell and many more

Cute and well equipped. The bed was comfy and the cottage was quiet. Beautifully situated in the heart of a magical village. Thanks Carol.
