You can buy fresh seafood at the nearby supermarket and enjoy cooking in the spacious kitchen.We provide a full set of basic cooking utensils, including knives and chopping boards, so please feel free to enjoy preparing dishes using Toyama's local ingredients. Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). It can be used as a base for sightseeing in Takaoka, not only in Yamamachisuji, but also in the foundry town of Kanayamachi (10 minutes on foot), Takaoka Daibutsu (10 minutes on foot), Takaoka Castle Ruins (15 minutes on foot), and the national treasure Zuiyuji Temple (25 minutes on foot). From the window, you can see the vast rural landscape and the Northern Alps Tateyama mountain range in the distance. Guests can optionally have breakfast, dinner, etc. (breakfast 1,000 yen, dinner from 2,000 yen. Please ask).
