Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Tyne and Wear

Easiest way to put it, it's a home away from home. Host is amazing and very responsive. Definitely coming back again!

We came back to Jane's place as we had such a lovely break here last year and we were not disappointed. The mill is lovely, Jane and family have it at a very high standard, it is always clean and feels really homely. Jane had, again, left us eggs, milk, tea, coffee etc and some lovely rocky road for our arrival. The mill is ideally situated for discovering the surroinding area, we revisited Beamish museum, went to Tanfield railway, Angel of the North, Newcastle quayside, Ushaw house and gardens, Prince Bishops Palace, Raby and Brancepeth castles and some lovely walks too. we highly recommend Jane's place to anyone who wants a peaceful retreat or a great base for exploring the area.

We loved this place, it was perfect for our six year olds, they loved the garden, the spacious rooms and it was a great location to base ourselves while we explored to NE - we will be back xx

Great spot! The location could not have been more perfect for walking to family members in the area and shopping. House was ideal for our family of 4. The Christmas decorations made us feel right at home as we were so far away from Arizona. House was very clean as well. Thank you for being so responsive.

Lovely house, very clean and excellently situated for exploring gosforth, east to get to the metro to go further afield. Well stocked kitchen and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again

We really enjoyed our stay at Melanie’s. The house is really comfy, cosy, well-appointed and welcoming. We found it deceptively spacious and we loved the big rooms. The beds are very comfy and the house is warm on cold days and airy when it is hot outside. It’s extremely handy for day trips to Beamish and it’s close enough to make an easy journey into Newcastle. We found the parking was a tight squeeze but Melanie’s advice on how to manage this was spot-on - she is a very helpful host. Event though the house is on a narrow terraced street, the neighbours left us space to get the car in and out, and we found the house private, quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed in the house and there are lots of extras like Netflix and Freeview on the TV as well as lots of books and DVDs. The chip shop down the road served us huge portions and was tasty - we also recommend the Stables restaurant at Beamish Hall. We hope to stay at Melanie’s again and will be recommending it to others.

We were staying up there for my Sons wedding , then we stayed on a little over Christmas to see the children . The Ubers are amazing and I just downloaded the app ‘Uber eats ‘ as well and they can do a shop for you from the Coop ,Sainsbury’s and Tesco and more . Uber travel was very good and reasonable . Area of house is great for Newcastle , Durham or Bernard castle area . Rooms are a good size , beds comfortable. Walking for elderly parents was nice and they increased their fitness immensely , as the fresh air has helped them along with the trips to the countryside which is all around . Very Clean throughout . Comfy sofa and large chair. Great for a family . Garden is enclosed and very safe . Rachel has been a very kind host , and fast to respond to any querys , I would recommend the area and the home , the locals are friendly and there’s a Tesco express which has a bit of everything , in walking distance . Warm and welcoming, banister on stairs plenty of cupboards . A*

Loved being back here again, I know for sure that we will be back again soon. Your home is such a lovely place and it does feel like a home from home with everything you need. Gareth is very good at responding to any queries and will provide you with lots of detail about different places to visit, restaurants etc. We where lucky as we have been to the area many times before but anything that you are unsure about just message Gareth and he will help you. We have just had a very enjoyable weekend in Gateshead made super special by staying at Coalminers Cottage. The apartment exceeded our expectations, being exactly as advertised but was spotlessly clean with beautiful presentation. I particularly loved the cosy feel to the living room with quality furnishings and comfortable beds. Dylan made contact a couple of times before our stay and also checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. Definitely worthy of a 5 * Thank you Dylan.

Christian's place is in the perfect location for a City centre stay, close to the football ground and nightlife but set in a square that is green and tranquil. The house is immaculately clean & very well furnished with all the facilities you require and more for a home from home stay. Any future stays in Newcastle, this would be my first port of call for accomodation and I would highly recommend to anybody. Christian was also very helpful with tips for the local area, the parking permit is also a great bonus in the city. All round great place and great stay 11/10....

Host was always very available. Flat is large and offers a cosy living/ dining room. Flat well located in Heaton, supermarkets nearby and good bus and metro connections

Absolutely blown away by this property, it was immaculate throughout and some really unique features. everything was clean and lots of extras included for breakfast. The bed was super comfy. Carla was very welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond for us during our stay. We will definitely come back again.

Linda’s place was perfect for our family of 4. Close to transport and supermarket. Linda met us in arrival and was very welcoming. The flat has everything we could need and more. Spotlessly clean and warm. Spacious rooms. Would absolutely stay here again!

A great flat, location was perfect for our needs and easy to find, we were able to park right outside. Very comfortable beds. We had two small dogs with us and there is a small park area over the road which was great for giving them a quick walk in the evening and the following morning. We would definitely use again.
