What a beautiful, picturesque piece of heaven! Hosts were lovely, responsive and flexible to our tardy exit due to wrangling our toddler twins! Thank you for a delightful memory - we will be back!

Great spot for our basecamp exploring Pingvellir and fishing the area lakes. Enjoyed the hot tub after long days out exploring. Saw the northern lights. Cozy cabin. Very comfortable bed. Private location despite being close to the circle road.

Efficient accommodation

I’m so grateful that I booked this apartment. Maria was outstanding, very attentive, responded always quickly and she even bake us a delish dessert. Cabin is exactly as described. Bed is good, space is beautiful and I was able to see the auroras from the cabin. Cabin is near the restaurant area of the city and lots of the amazing waterfalls that Iceland has to offer. This was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for everything!

“The best air b&b we have stayed in”. The guesthouse we stayed in was perfect. The place is extremely clean and well thought out, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The personalised note inside upon check in was such a lovely touch. The hot tub is easy to use and the geothermal water is welcome after a long day of exploring Iceland. The views from the cabin are also breathtaking. Sabine is a great and responsive host, providing really detailed instructions before check in and getting back to queries quickly. We also both really enjoyed our walking tour with her wonderful horses today. Could not recommend this place enough, as my boyfriend said while staying there “I think this is the best air b&b we have ever stayed in”…I couldn’t agree more!!

Such a peaceful, sweet and beautiful cottage! Great location! Comfortable beds, nice kitchen, great set up for resting and being together. Host was so great! She had great suggestions on what to do in the area and also for our next stop on our trip! We hope to be back ♥️

Very well equipped home, which is an excellent home base location for exploring the golden circle. Hjordis was an excellent host with very quick communication in answering any questions we had prior to and during our stay. Would highly recommend for a sightseeing trip to Iceland.

Highly recommend this place. You can take a rest after long trip or escape from the city in peace and quiet place! There is everything what you need to spend the best time. The owners are amazing people friendly, nice, and they take good care of this house. This makes this place so unique. We gonna back there again for sure :)

Elín’s “house of happiness” is nothing short of a dream come true! My husband and I loved every single second at this incredible secluded cabin outside of Selfoss and already dreaming of our next trip back. Elín is a warm and accommodating host, you won’t find a lovelier and more thoughtful host out there. And don’t get us started on the outdoor shower! It has the perfect temperature and pressure! A lovely cabin in peaceful surroundings — the perfect place to recharge and enjoy a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended!

Be sure to stay for a few more days, it is very peaceful and very well equipped.We spent our last night here before leaving Iceland, making our own meals, watching the sunset, the most exciting is the aurora, it's already the end of April, and it's so lucky to see the aurora.The only thing to note here traffic should be suitable for arriving by car only.

We really enjoyed our stay here in this one of a kind, unique accommodation! The cabin had what we needed for our stay and we were able to rest easily. We had clear skies both night and saw amazing northern lights from our window and just outside. Amazing!!!

We had a fantastic time at Straumnes cabins. The cabins are very peaceful, and in a beautiful setting on the lake. We were spending a couple of days doing the golden circle and South coast and the cabin was perfectly located for this. The communication was great, the cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, and lovely and warm. Many thanks to our host for a great stay. We would highly recommend the cabin for family's exploring the golden circle that want a peaceful stay in the countryside.

This was the perfect place for our group of two moms and two teen daughters. It was within an hour of Reykjavik and key Golden Circle sites, and was easy access to Highway 1 that took us to the Southern part of the country to experience its dramatic features (our favorite part). Nearby Sellfoss offered the cheapest gas we found and lower prices at grocery stores than in Reykjavik. We had amazing views of the Northern Lights every night we stayed up late enough to see them due to the wide open views from the cabin and relative low light in the valley. The hosts were AMAZING, offering tips, keeping us informed about the area, and even dropping us a quick note when they'd heard through local reports that there would be a particularly great aurora display that night. We also loved the relative privacy and open space around the cabin. I almost hesitate to go on as we plan to return one day and I hope the place isn't booked solid!

Kind and friendly hosts in a superb and unique setting to explore the south coast of Iceland! There is plenty of privacy and space in a nicely decorated and incredible well equipped cabin. Everything is as great as you think it is going to be, if not better. The cabin represents stunning value and my only wish is that I had stayed longer! Thank you Pall and Birna.

Here you get that as it was described. Perfect for 2 people, also possible for 3 adults. Road traffic very low. The neighboring lake is not so easy to walk to. The landlord is very friendly.

Very nice place in the middle of nature. Very enjoyable and relaxing. The cabin is very well furnished and has a great vibe. Recommended!

Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings! In addition, the host always helps you quickly with questions and everything was present in the cottage to get through your days. The basic articles were already present and the cottage is wonderful. The bedroom at the top in the crawl space was very narrow. So if you come with 4 people, keep in mind that it is quite narrow and climb to get to this sleeping area. Reach was also poor in the cottage and no wifi. All these points were no problem for us and enjoyed it immensely and would definitely recommend to everyone!

Ari, his place, and his animals are all top notch. Everything made me wish I could move in for a longer stay. We had a great time chatting with Ari and he was super responsive to anything we wanted, needed, or asked about. His stories are worth a visit alone. The accommodations were clean, warm, and comfortable. Best of all, if you are fortunate you’ll meet some sweet animals who patiently wait to greet you. This is a very special place and I hope to return when I get back to Iceland.

This is a beautiful house in a serene location. Hjalmar is a great host. Welcome drinks on our arrival made us feel we were in for a special stay. Highly recommended this place. All the things you need for a great stay. Remember to bring food to BBQ or roast. The nearest supermarket is 30 minutes away. If you are looking for that special getaway, this is it!

This little cabin was absolutely gorgeous and perfect. The location was amazing, secluded and with beautiful views. Northern lights visible at night from the cabin! The cabin is very cozy and stylish. The host was very kind and responsive and sweet. We really enjoyed our stay and visit at this cabin in Hella. I recommend this place!

Listing as described, clean and welcoming. Everything you need to cook is available. The bathroom is a little small but for a few days it's enough. We would highly recommend it.

We’ve just finished a two night stay here and it’s just beautiful. Our flight landed early and we were able to check in a little earlier which was very helpful. The place is so lovely and quiet and the instructions to get there were spot on. We were able to drive to all of the local sights and it was lovely to come back to a lovely warm and cosy cabin. I would definitely recommend staying here!
