Beautiful cabin with unique view

A new, beautiful cabin with incredible view over Eyjafjörður and Akureyri. The cabin is situated aproximately a ten minutes drive from the town of Akureyri, the capital of the north of Iceland. Two bedrooms with double beds, both queen size, and a sleeping loft with another double bed, queen size as well. Additionally there is a sleeping sofa in the living room, so in all the cabin can accommodate up to eight people, although that might be a bit tight. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a great dining area and a beautiful living room with the sleeping sofa. Also, a very nice bathroom with shower. Outside you will find a big veranda with an outdoor jacuzzi (icelandic style !) and the most incredible view. Perfectly located for traveling around the north of beautiful Iceland. The cabin is also very close to Iceland's best skiing facilities in the winter, as Akureyri is Iceland's finest ski resort. In Akureyri you can find all sorts of attractions like one of Iceland's finest swimming pools, art galleries, restaurants, cinemas, museums and so on. The most popular tourist attractions on the northern side of Iceland like Lake Mývatn and Dettifoss are quite close by. Mývatn 1 hour and Dettifoss less than 2 hours by car.

The cabin is by Lake Álftavatn right on the golden circle. It is a 120 sq m house in beautiful surroundings. 4 bed rooms one of which is a loft, with comfortable double beds. The kitchen area and living room are very spacious. The patio has a hot and cold tub and outdoor shower with great view of the northern lights. We are situated in a private setting with nice walking trails nearby. Kerið is 5 min away, Gullfoss and Geysir 40 mins and Thingvellir national park 20 minutes. HG 0001170

The location is exceptional, located hillside in a beautiful nature reserve, still very close to the downtown Reykjavik, 20 min drive. In winter Dec-March 4x4 car is essential in Iceland. No public transport. Enjoy the hot tube in the evening and watch for the Northern Lights, then rest inside and amid wood paneling that extends to the vaulted ceilings, and look out forest-wards from the deck. Our vacation cabin is secluded, yet not far from the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. A small and cozy cabin, with one bedroom with a double bed and a sleeping loft. The cabin is small and the sleeping loft is not with a full height so adults might find it cramped, so it might be better suited for a family of 4. This is the perfect base for visiting the South Coast of Iceland, with short driving distance to f.ex Fjarðárgljúfur, Skaftafell National Park and the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
