For hikers and bikers, the Baltic Sea and Holstein Switzerland are outside the doorstep. You can reach the beach by car or by bike in a few minutes.

It is 12 km to the Baltic Sea (Neustadt), Lübeck 35 km, Kiel 45 km, Hamburg 85 km. Massenat with its lakes and the possibility to rent canoes/kayaks is 15 km away. The nearest regional train is 9 km away. The landscape is hilly. There are many forests, fields and lakes.

A cozy hideaway in the Holstein hills very close to the Baltic Sea (LL 10km) is this log cabin. I came, I saw, and I wanted to stay much longer. Our beautiful official house is the former residence of the Duke of Oldenburg and is located in the back part of our estate, surrounded by greenery overlooking fields and meadows. The rooms are spacious and tastefully designed and even with many people you can always find your own retreat to breathe. A huge, private garden with terrace and garden furniture awaits you, adjacent to it is our horse meadow.
