You sleep on the ground floor (2 bedrooms + private bathroom + private kitchen + private large living room (50 m2) with high ceilings and a fireplace. Private entrance. The 3rd bedroom is upstairs via the front house. Outside on the water your own terrace. Also suitable for group work with a large work table and large TV. Vintage so beautiful, old and cozy. But not spotless.

It looks cosy, those grasslands between the trees. Smûk, as we say in Frisian. As many as 250 species of birds and many other animals live here. The area was also gifted with pingos from the Ice Age. Located in the middle of 2 National Parks: Lauwersmeer and the Alde Feannen. An ideal area for cycling and walking.

Huge windows provide stunning Dutch views onto the river, the grass meadows with cows & sheep and a picturesque village in the distance. The river is quiet water so have a sauna & a swim, take out the kayak, big canoe or SUPboard. We have a heatpump for the floor heating, and used upcycled items such a charming wood-stove, a fantastic bath, a fully-equipped kitchen, bikes, a firepit & trampoline.

The location of tiny house de Veenweide is perfect for nature lovers. The cottage is located on the edge of the Alde Feanen nature reserve. The area is great for cycling, hiking, boating, mountain biking, canoeing, birding and fishing. The Alde Feanen has a special population of plants and birds, including the sea eagle, osprey, bittern and kingfisher. In addition, chances are that you will see deer and hares running past from the cottage.
