Monthly Rentals in Wheeler Peak

I had an incredible stay! I came specifically to hike Wheeler Peak, which is conveniently just 30 minutes from the trailhead. This place had everything I needed and more. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, making it the perfect home base for my adventure. I have to say, the restroom was truly a dream — beautifully designed, spotless, and felt like a luxurious touch after a long day of hiking. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again!

Cozy, warm, comfortable, centrally located, quiet place. Great base to check out the amazing landscapes around Taos. Beautiful trees. Safe parking. I had a great month here thank you.

Don’s cabin was amazing! He went above and beyond as a host (even asked for our sheet preference). He was the most responsive host that I have ever had. The cabin was an authentic lake cabin that was cozy and had everything we needed. It’s a great spot if you are skiing at Angel Fire as it was 15min drive from driveway to parking lot. It’s also only 20min away to Red River and great restaurants/shopping. We really enjoyed the mud room to store skis/snowboard and wet clothes/boots. He even left us some hot chocolate and popcorn. We also really enjoyed making a fire in the cabin. Highly recommend this spot and Don as a host.

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed all that the little casita had to offer. The selection of local coffee and teas were delicious. We went for a morning hike attached to the property and found another, streamside hike (down the road) on our way out. John had everything set up and ready to go for us to enjoy our stay. Firewood was stacked in the firepit which we took advantage of and the view of the night sky and stars was gorgeous. Hot tub was a wonderful bonus. John was very responsive to the few questions we had.
