Farmstay holiday rentals in Amsterdam

This is our third time staying at Tine’s cottage over the past nearly ten years. It feels like a home away from home. We love Tine and she treats everyone like family. In case you don’t know already, this cottage sits on a quiet street, with its own private parking, entrance, and privacy. It is a very short walk into the backside of Zaanse Schans by the Windmills. You can borrow one of Tine’s many bicycles or simply walk the flat peaceful lanes into the open air park and experience clogs making, cheesemaking, stroopwafels, historic homes and neighborhoods well preserved, shops and gifts, a museum, and the most beautiful intact and functioning windmills you’ll find anywhere in the area - plus much more. It’s only 7-8 minutes to the Zaanse Schans train station and a straight shot in 15 minutes on the train to Centraal Station. Also very easy to get to Keukenhof via train, car, bus, etc. Grocery stores and restaurants close by. Our favorite spot out of all we’ve stayed at in Holland!

We were there with the family and all felt very comfortable from the beginning. It was very clean, the beds were so pleasant and the view in the morning a dream. The apartment was furnished with a lot of heart and love for detail and well equipped - whether it would have been possible to cook or grill and bake yourself. We enjoyed the terrace with the sun and also the living room invited you to linger. The chickens lost a very special touch. We would move in there in a heartbeat .

A short relaxing stay in this peaceful retreat. I hope we'll come back because they're both great.

We had the most wonderful stay in this charming cabin nestled on the property of a windmill in Alkmaar. From the moment we arrived, our hosts Kelly and Han made us feel completely at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect—so kind, welcoming, and full of great local tips. The cabin itself is a dream—coziness taken to the next level. Every detail was thoughtfully put together, and it was the perfect place to unwind to relax. Waking up next to a windmill felt like something out of a fairytale. Alkmaar itself is a beautiful village full of history, with adorable shops and restaurants to explore. The charming canals add to the magical atmosphere, and it’s easy to hop on a train to Amsterdam for a day trip. We’re already dreaming of our return and feel so lucky to have made such lovely new friends in Kelly and Han. Highly recommend this magical spot to anyone visiting The Netherlands!

We stayed with Jan and Corrie for 4 nights. The house was everything, and more, that we hoped for. Corrie’s hosting qualities are second to none. We arrived to be personally greeted and presented with goodies. Our bathrooms were checked daily and towels replenished, along with kitchen towels and bins. The house is in a beautiful location with excellent cycling routes from the doorstep. Jan devised routes specifically for us, after asking what we were interested in seeing. I cannot rate this place highly enough - excellent. Thank you.

Our stay at Nicolette’s holiday cottage exceeded our expectations! Nicolette and Remco welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. We really appreciated how accessible and approachable they were, and their recommendations were very helpful! The cottage was quiet and cozy, and had everything we needed. Being along the bike trail and the river gave us so many opportunities for fun adventures! We look forward to coming back!

We were very warmly welcomed by Ageeth. Our place was very cozy and it had everything you need and very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very tasty and Ageeth asked what we still need for the next day and then brought us something again. If we come near Dodewaard again, we will definitely ask Ageeth again.

Very comfortable house. It is spacious, the kitchen is well equipped (even with knives that cut well). There are all kinds of cleaning products. The beds are comfortable (1.80 wide double bed and 1.60 sofa bed). It has a nice garden. There are some board games. The area is very quiet and you can take good walks. A five-minute walk away is the village where there is a supermarket, bar/restaurant, gas station, bakery and ice cream parlor. We've gotten around by car. It is 30 minutes from Uttrecht, 40 from Amsterdam, 1 hour from The Hague, 1 hour to Kröller-Müller. It is in the center of the country, very close to highways, making it easy to get around. Watch out for mosquitoes! During the day there aren't any, but we left windows open in the afternoon/evening and our house was filled with mosquitoes. If you close them in the middle of the afternoon, that's fine. Jean-Pierre is very friendly and answers questions instantly. He warned us of roadblocks and prepared a user manual with very useful information for visiting the country.

Dennis received us in a very friendly way and explained everything to us. With the bathroom you have to be a little careful as you have to go a high step. But otherwise a nice accommodation for 2 people with practical amenities. Egmond-Binnen is a few minutes' walk away, as is a supermarket. Be sure to eat an ice cream in the ice cream parlor in Indoor! Egmond by the sea is easy to get to by bike or car. A beautiful weekend with a fantastic view of the colorful tulip field.

Frank and Celia are very welcoming and give you good tips on the activities or eateries nearby. The cottage is neat, stylishly decorated and quietly located in a cul-de-sac street. Everything has been thought of, you will not be short of anything. The area is also great for cycling or hiking trips. We were there for a long weekend and enjoyed it tremendously, highly recommended! Best, Marloes and Robert.

we had a lovely time at Esther and Michel's place. The hosts are very welcoming and the welcome was more than very welcoming with many touches (cool bottles, Easter chocolate...). Possibility to do many activities at the accommodation (outdoor games) with animals ( game with the dog, goats) Thank you for everything and thank you for this beautiful French accent 😉

I had an amazing time at the cabin. I am a florist and I came from the USA for the flowers and to learn as much as I could about them, the farming, the flower auctions & the marketing and advertising while I was here. I was traveling solo and her cabin is a perfect location for it all and I felt safe there through out my stay. I also loved the fact that I had the quiet woods and farmland surrounding me but could also be at the beach in a blink of an eye! She was an amazing host with the biggest heart and wonderful recommendations. I so wish to come back one day with my daughter. The cabin and The Netherlands have my heart now! :) Thank you for an amazing trip. P.s.- If you plan to stay here, maybe bring a flashlight because the trail in the woods to the cabin can get a little dark at night! ;)

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. A great place to stay in a very nice environment with a super friendly hostess. We would definitely come back!

A pretty little cottage in a quiet location with many extraordinary details! Large living room overlooking the fields. Well-equipped kitchen. Idyllic courtyard with BBQ and fire bowl, plus sandbox! One double bedroom is separate, the children's room right next to the living room. The upper room is on a gallery with sloping under the roof, but also very cozy. Many nearby getaways, we highly recommend Alkmaar! A holiday here is relaxing and varied! Many thanks to Leonel and Cor, who were always available and very friendly!

Cute and cozy spot with beautiful surroundings and accommodating hosts, conveniently close to the city without all the hustle & bustle. We especially loved renting a boat nearby at Bootverhuur Overleek and exploring the surrounding villages along picturesque canals. A lovely spot to stay.

If you want a great place, with great hosts, in a peaceful beautiful surroundings this is the place to be. The beds are super comfy, the space has everything you need, facilities are superb. The surrounds are top notch, it’s a little village. The roads are extremely narrow, so politeness is required.

We had a great time The setting is idyllic. Very peaceful, the outside is so nice with views of the field and the sheep. Everything is very well thought out, we did not miss anything. When we arrived, we had nice touches like making aperitifs or chocolates, it was adorable. In addition, Marco and Yvonne provided us with a bed, high chair and bathtub for our baby and that's really super nice. In short, an enchanting setting, very nice hosts. Feel free to come and stay with Marco.

Had a wonderful weekend. Enjoyed the beautiful garden and of course the jacuzzi. The area is beautiful. Boat rentals nearby to take a lovely boat trip across the Linge. Friettent and liquor store within walking distance. See you the next time Mandana and Maurits!

We had a great time at Hans & Marian's. The location is perfect for discovering the flower fields area and enjoying the beach. Everything is accessible by bike, the beach 10min and the park of keukenhof 15min. We had two small children (3 and 6 years old) who loved the play areas in the holiday park and the games for the children present in the house. Communication with Hans & Marian was very friendly and very fluid. Thanks again for a great stay 😊

Ingrid and Eric were very friendly and welcoming . Was a lovely and perfect place to stay. Hired a car and they sorted parking within 10 minutes walk. It was a perfect stay to get to keukenhoff and the tulip fields. Noorwijke is a lovely place to stay with plenty of bars and restaurants.

We had a lovely stay at Annemarie's place. The view from the window is beautiful and we found the house very peaceful and comfortable for our family. We loved having access to the bikes and enjoyed exploring the local area on them. Annemarie was a great host, warm and friendly on arrival and when we said farewell.

We were three people at James' place for fishing over the weekend. Check-in was straightforward and communication with James was super relaxed and he was very accommodating and likeable. The place was clean and had everything you could ever need. In the area there are many beautiful spots for fishing, all of which are easily accessible from the property. Our stay could not have been better!

We had such a gorgeous night out of the city in Joyce’s tiny house. The location is gorgeous with nature all around, perfect for long walks to explore the area. We got the train to Almere and then cycled from there which was a lovely half hour cycle along the river. The house itself is perfect, everything was clean and well thought-out, making the stay easy and comfortable with everything you could need! One of the highlights is of course the private sauna and hot tub which feels like such a treat!

 Joyce was a perfect host, she and her son live on the property and make sure to give you privacy, but are of course on hand for anything you need. 

 Would definitely recommend for an escape from the city.
