Farmstay holiday rentals in Amsterdam

This is our third time staying at Tine’s cottage over the past nearly ten years. It feels like a home away from home. We love Tine and she treats everyone like family. In case you don’t know already, this cottage sits on a quiet street, with its own private parking, entrance, and privacy. It is a very short walk into the backside of Zaanse Schans by the Windmills. You can borrow one of Tine’s many bicycles or simply walk the flat peaceful lanes into the open air park and experience clogs making, cheesemaking, stroopwafels, historic homes and neighborhoods well preserved, shops and gifts, a museum, and the most beautiful intact and functioning windmills you’ll find anywhere in the area - plus much more. It’s only 7-8 minutes to the Zaanse Schans train station and a straight shot in 15 minutes on the train to Centraal Station. Also very easy to get to Keukenhof via train, car, bus, etc. Grocery stores and restaurants close by. Our favorite spot out of all we’ve stayed at in Holland!

Wir waren mit der Familie da und haben uns alle von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. Es war sehr sauber, die Betten waren so angenehm und der Ausblick morgens ein Traum. Die Wohnung war mit viel Herz und liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und bestens ausgestattet- egal ob zum Kochen oder Grillen und selbst backen wäre möglich gewesen. Wir haben die Terasse mit der Sonne sehr genossen und auch das Wohnzimmer lud zum Verweilen ein. Die Hühner verliehe eine sehr besondere Note. Wir würden sofort dort einziehen .

We had the most wonderful stay in this charming cabin nestled on the property of a windmill in Alkmaar. From the moment we arrived, our hosts Kelly and Han made us feel completely at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect—so kind, welcoming, and full of great local tips. The cabin itself is a dream—coziness taken to the next level. Every detail was thoughtfully put together, and it was the perfect place to unwind to relax. Waking up next to a windmill felt like something out of a fairytale. Alkmaar itself is a beautiful village full of history, with adorable shops and restaurants to explore. The charming canals add to the magical atmosphere, and it’s easy to hop on a train to Amsterdam for a day trip. We’re already dreaming of our return and feel so lucky to have made such lovely new friends in Kelly and Han. Highly recommend this magical spot to anyone visiting The Netherlands!

Jan and Corrie were excellent hosts. Corrie was there to meet us with fresh baked treats and beverages. She was so friendly and explained everything about the house and the neighborhood. The house was much bigger than in the pictures. Plenty of space for a family of 4. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms modern and clean, and the outdoor space was so nice to hang out and relax. The kitchen came supplied with all dishes, pots, pans needed, and the dining table and living area were comfortable. The home is heated with radiant floor heating. The windows, doors, fixtures were all high end. There was an automated professional level espresso maker to enjoy and plenty of fresh eggs from the chickens. The town was small, quiet, safe with many beautiful homes and castles nearby. There were plenty of walking paths and bike trails to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Our stay at Nicolette’s holiday cottage exceeded our expectations! Nicolette and Remco welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. We really appreciated how accessible and approachable they were, and their recommendations were very helpful! The cottage was quiet and cozy, and had everything we needed. Being along the bike trail and the river gave us so many opportunities for fun adventures! We look forward to coming back!

Wir sind sehr herzlich von Ageeth empfangen worden. Unsere Unterkunft war sehr gemütlich und es war alles da, was man braucht und sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und Ageeth hat nachgefragt,was wir für den nächsten Tag noch brauchen und hat uns dann nochmal etwas gebracht. Wenn wir nochmal in die Nähe von Dodewaard kommen, fragen wir bestimmt wieder bei Ageeth an.

Casa muy confortable. Es amplia, la cocina está bien equipada (incluso con cuchillos que cortan bien). Hay todo tipo de productos de limpieza. Las camas son cómodas (cama de matrimonio de 1,80 de ancho y sofá cama de 1,60). Tiene un jardín bonito. Hay algunos juegos de mesa. La zona es muy tranquila y se pueden dar buenos paseos. A cinco minutos andando está el pueblo donde hay súper, bar/restaurante, gasolinera, panadería y heladería. Nosotros nos hemos movido en coche. Está a 30 minutos de Uttrecht, 40 de Amsterdam, 1h de La Haya, 1h a Kröller-Müller. Queda en el centro del país muy cerca de autopistas, con lo que es fácil moverse. Ojo mosquitos! Durante el día no hay, pero nos dejamos ventanas abiertas por la tarde/noche y se nos llenó la casa de mosquitos. Si se cierran a media tarde, no hay problema. Jean-Pierre es muy amable y resuelve dudas al instante. Nos avisó de cortes en las autopistas y ha preparado un manual del usuario con información muy útil para visitar el país.

Dennis hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und uns alles erklärt. Beim Bad muss man etwas vorsichtig sein, da man eine hohe Stufe gehen muss. Aber sonst eine schöne Unterkunft für 2 Personen mit praktischer Ausstattung. Egmond-Binnen ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, ebenso ein Supermarkt. Unbedingt ein Eis in der Eisdiele in Binnen essen! Nach Egmond an zee kommt man bequem mit dem Fahrrad oder dem Auto. Ein schönes Wochenende mit einem traumhaften Blick auf das bunte Tulpenfeld.

Frank en Celia zijn heel gastvrij en geven je goede tips over de bezigheden of eetgelegenheden in de buurt. Het huisje is netjes, stijlvol ingericht en rustig gelegen in een doodlopende straat. Aan alles is gedacht, je zal niks te kort komen. Ook de omgeving leent zich uitstekend voor fiets of wandeltochten. Wij waren er een lang weekend en hebben er enorm van genoten, echt een aanrader! nous avons passé un très bon moment chez Esther et Michel. Les hôtes sont très accueillants et l'accueil était plus que très accueillante avec de nombreuses attentions ( bouteilles au frais, chocolat de Pâques...). Possibilité de faire de nombreuses activités au logement (jeux extérieurs) avec les animaux ( jeu avec le chien, les chèvres) Merci pour tout et merci pour ce bel accent Français 😉

I had an amazing time at the cabin. I am a florist and I came from the USA for the flowers and to learn as much as I could about them, the farming, the flower auctions & the marketing and advertising while I was here. I was traveling solo and her cabin is a perfect location for it all and I felt safe there through out my stay. I also loved the fact that I had the quiet woods and farmland surrounding me but could also be at the beach in a blink of an eye! She was an amazing host with the biggest heart and wonderful recommendations. I so wish to come back one day with my daughter. The cabin and The Netherlands have my heart now! :) Thank you for an amazing trip. P.s.- If you plan to stay here, maybe bring a flashlight because the trail in the woods to the cabin can get a little dark at night! ;)

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Eine tolle Unterkunft in einer sehr schönen Umgebung mit einer super freundlichen Gastgeberin. Wir würden definitiv wieder kommen!

Ein hübsches kleines Häuschen in ruhiger Lage mit vielen außergewöhnlichen Details! Großes Wohnzimmer mit Blick in die Felder. Gut ausgestattete Küche. Idyllischer Innenhof mit BBQ und Feuerschale, plus Sandkiste! Ein Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett ist separat, das Kinderzimmer gleich neben dem Wohnzimmer. Das obere Zimmer ist auf einer Empore mit Schräge unterm Dach, aber auch sehr gemütlich. Viele Ausflugsziele in nächster Nähe, wir können Alkmaar sehr empfehlen! Ein Urlaub hier ist erholsam und abwechslungsreich! Vielen Dank an Leonel und Cor, die immer erreichbar waren und sehr freundlich!

Zu zweit hatten wir hier eine sehr schöne Zeit in dieser Unterkunft. Der Check-in war sehr einfach. Mit dem Auto ist es perfekt zu erreichen. Zum Bus sind es 15 Minuten. Die Umgebung ist sehr ländlich, für Tierliebhaber genau das Richtige. Eine Bootstour in der Nähe können wir wärmstens empfehlen! Das Haus ist direkt eben einem Kuhstall gelegen. Für Privatsphäre ist mit Rollos und Vorhängen sehr gut gesorgt. Es war sehr sauber und in Küche und Bad waren die wichtigsten Dinge vorhanden. Auch als große Personen konnten wir beide gut in dem Bett schlafen. Es war nachts vielleicht etwas sehr warm, da oben kein Fenster ist. Das Sofa ist für zwei Personen ausreichend, könnte aber etwas gemütlicher sein. Die Kommunikation war sehr schnell und freundlich. Nils und Vera haben wirklich einen schönen Ort für Gäste geschaffen, die ein paar Tage in einer sehr schönen Gegend verbringen wollen. Wir empfehlen die Wohnung gerne weiter!

If you want a great place, with great hosts, in a peaceful beautiful surroundings this is the place to be. The beds are super comfy, the space has everything you need, facilities are superb. The surrounds are top notch, it’s a little village. The roads are extremely narrow, so politeness is required.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour Le cadre est idyllique. Très paisible, l’extérieur est tellement sympa avec vue sur le champ et les moutons. Tout est très bien pensé nous n’avons manqué de rien. Nous avions à notre arrivée de gentilles attentions comme de quoi faire l’apéritif ou des chocolats, c’était adorable. En plus, Marco et Yvonne nous ont mis à disposition lit, chaise haute et baignoire pour notre bébé et c’est vraiment super gentil. En résumé, un cadre enchanteur, des hôtes très gentils. N’hésitez pas à venir séjourner chez Marco.

Heerlijk weekend gehad. Genoten van de mooie tuin en natuurlijk de jacuzzi. De omgeving is prachtig. Bootverhuur in de buurt om een mooie boottocht over de Linge te maken. Friettent en slijterij op loopafstand. Tot de volgende keer Mandana en Maurits!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Hans & Marian. L emplacement est parfait pour découvrir la région des champs de fleurs et profiter de la plage. Tout est accessible à vélo, la plage 10min et le parc du keukenhof 15min. Nous avions deux enfants en bas âge (3 et 6ans) qui ont adorés les aires de jeux du parc de vacances et les jeux pour les enfants présents dans la maison. La communication avec Hans & Marian était très sympathique et très fluide. Encore merci pour ce très bon séjour 😊

Ingrid and Eric were very friendly and welcoming . Was a lovely and perfect place to stay. Hired a car and they sorted parking within 10 minutes walk. It was a perfect stay to get to keukenhoff and the tulip fields. Noorwijke is a lovely place to stay with plenty of bars and restaurants.

We had a lovely stay at Annemarie's place. The view from the window is beautiful and we found the house very peaceful and comfortable for our family. We loved having access to the bikes and enjoyed exploring the local area on them. Annemarie was a great host, warm and friendly on arrival and when we said farewell.

Wir waren mit drei Leuten zum Angeln übers Wochenende in James' Unterkunft. Das Check-in war unkompliziert und die Kommunikation mit James war super entspannt und er war sehr zuvorkommend und sympathisch. Die Unterkunft war sauber und hatte alles, was man so braucht. In der Umgebung sind sehr viele schöne Spots zum Angeln, die alle von der Unterkunft aus einfach zu erreichen sind. Unser Aufenthalt hätte nicht besser sein können!

We had such a gorgeous night out of the city in Joyce’s tiny house. The location is gorgeous with nature all around, perfect for long walks to explore the area. We got the train to Almere and then cycled from there which was a lovely half hour cycle along the river. The house itself is perfect, everything was clean and well thought-out, making the stay easy and comfortable with everything you could need! One of the highlights is of course the private sauna and hot tub which feels like such a treat!

 Joyce was a perfect host, she and her son live on the property and make sure to give you privacy, but are of course on hand for anything you need. 

 Would definitely recommend for an escape from the city.
