Cabin holiday rentals in Barren River Lake

The Captain's Lodge far exceeded our expectations for comfort and quality. We were excited for our stay based on the photos and description, but I feel they didn't do the place enough justice! This is a perfect spot for family or friendly get-togethers with plenty of hang-out space on both interior levels as well as outside, an extra large dining table, and a well-stocked kitchen with upgraded appliances. There were plenty of games and activities for people of all ages to enjoy and the small surrounding neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was very well-maintained and was incredibly clean. We can't wait to come back for our next stay!

A quiet and peaceful oasis was what I wanted for my birthday, and that’s exactly what this location was. It felt secluded with an amazing view of the lake that we were able watch to unwind and spend time as a family. The biggest draw initially was the hot tub, but we didn’t even end up using it as the location was just so relaxing already. There was a large sign for the cabin just before the driveway so it was easy to find, and Dale Hollow Pizza was a no-stress dinner with great food and plenty of leftovers. Very grateful to this host for sharing such a wonderful location with Airbnb. We were not disturbed at all by any neighbors, so I imagine if you’re a polite, decent, and respectful guest that you won’t see anyone in the area unless you choose to. Very happy with how peaceful and quiet this area is.

Great getaway spot near the lake. We used as a base for a weekend family trip to Mammoth Cave. Place was clean and had plenty of space for 4 of us. Plenty of linens and towels. Hot tub was in good shape and clean. Kids loved the shuffleboard table and arcade game. Kitchen has all the appliances and dishes you could need. The pots and pans available have seen better days.

This is my 3rd stay and it’s amazing every time! I brought my adult children and grandchildren for a holiday trip. We loved the family friendly atmosphere, festive decor, and activities for all ages. Wonderful hosts helped us make wonderful memories.

Laine's place was very comfortable and perfect for our family of 5 and 2 dogs. We will definitely return when we're back in the area.

Had a great stay at Frank’s cabin for our trip to Mammoth Cave. The cabin was so peaceful and Frank was a wonderful host. We really appreciated that he took the time to provide us with a map of the area and even called the ferry for us to find out if they were open. Highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to visit the Mammoth Cave area!

We really enjoyed our stay at Phillip’s place. We spent the first few days of the kiddos spring break here and visiting Mammoth Cave National Park. Mammoth Cave is about 40-50 minutes away but a really easy drive. It was nice to be away from things in such a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The lake house was very nice, super well taken care of, and clean. Phillip was also proactive and responsive. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a serene getaway. Hot tub and game room were great bonuses too!

Such a relaxing area. Peaceful and quiet, but close to town for shopping and restaurants. We would stay there again in a heartbeat

Great place to stay and served our needs perfectly! The cabin was tiny but perfect for 2 people so no complaints there! Holli was gracious to host us on a short notice! We did not use the bunkhouse or outdoor space as it is January so we can’t speak to those spaces. But the location to Mammoth Cave and Nolan SP couldn’t be beat! We had local food and ice cream every day after hiking and relaxed to a movie each night!

We loved our stay at this place! Unique and charming, enjoyed the pictures of the owners fixing it up. Had all the amenities we needed for our family of 5 to enjoy an at home experience away from home, thanks so much for your prompt responses and attention Tim & Shannon!

Stop looking and book it. Secluded cluster of cabins just off the highway. Feels very new. Super clean. Bed was comfortable and had a ton of pillows. Linens were clean and fresh. Kitchen was well stocked. Refrigerator was full-sized and very cold. Shower water pressure was great and shower drained well. Plenty of towels supplied. Fun little covered porch on the back that looks into the woods. Firepit on the front was supplied with a fire starter kit and a starter stack of wood. Firewood for sale is close by. Host was nearby, friendly and helpful. Good experience. 5-stars.

Cozy, clean cabin nestled in beautiful scenery with ponds, nearby lake for kayaking, hiking trail with cave, waterfall, Billy Goats gruff & trolls. Hosts were very responsive. Would be a great place for family reunions. Remote--DG Market about 20 minutes away. Large porches to relax & take in the views or firepit to gather around. Toured Crystal Onyx Cave with kitchy picture ops. Visited Bowling Green. Want to come back to track a corvette & visit museum. Booked 3 nights--should have planned a whole week!

Very nice setting for this cabin. Very spacious and comfortable. There are a number of things to choose b the area and Bowling Green is about 30 minutes away where there is a lot more offerings! If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to retreat to for some quiet time, this is your place to rent! Great hosts. Very responsive and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful stay. Came out for a weekend trip with 3 friends and the two full bathrooms along with 3 beds(and couch) were everything that we needed. Plenty of space and such a unique home!! A peaceful stay around 45 minutes away from mammoth cave. A gas station and dollar general around the corner about a 2 minute walk away provided for all of our immediate needs. Was weary of the few reviews but couldn’t have been happier. 10/10 couldn’t recommend this any more.

Such a relaxing and peaceful home away from home! Bette was an excellent Host! She was friendly and very responsive! We worked on our property nearby and Bette's place is the perfect choice for us. We cooked on the grill, slept in comfy beds and had everything we needed for our stay.

Absolutely beautiful home and Scotty did not leave a single detail out. Everything about my family’s stay was great! The house was very comfortable and is easy to feel right at home: it was as very clean and plenty to do! Scotty was also great to work/communicate with. The recommendations he sent me were spot on and he was prompt to respond with a question that I had. Check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. I HIGHLY recommend Scotty’s home to anyone looking for a very relaxing weekend! All in all 10/10 and will be returning!

Beautiful place, quiet, clean. All around a great place to stay

Such a neat little place full of nostalgia and character!! We had a great time with our 3 boys! We loved playing yard games, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, and exploring the peaceful property. Peggy is an amazing host! Readily available to help when needed. Great place if you want something in between camping and a hotel. Comfortable beds, AC, farm fresh eggs and coffee in cabins. Would be great for family get togethers where each family could rent their own cabin. Had a great time meeting some of the other guests too! Recommend giving it a try. Not far from Glasgow, which has plenty of food options and stores. Worked out great for us!

We had the BEST time !!!! So cozy and away from everyone !!! Trails to home n the woods, fish to catch n the pond . Fire pit to sit around , a ton of games everything really was PERFECT!!!!! Thank you all so much!!!!!

Hosts were very responsive and friendly! We appreciated that our dogs were welcome. Home located on a private street and was easily accessible. We stayed here and drove into Mammoth Cave for hiking and exploring. About a 30-35 minute drive from the park. Plenty of space for our whole family and the home had all amenities for a nice and comfortable stay. Thank you!
