Monthly Rentals in Bir Gaon

We, family of 3 including a teen, stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days - and my experience as below. Found this after scouting many places/ reviews on airbnb - We were not let down when we checked in. Great host who was in constant touch since the time we booked our acco. Parking - is a little bit away from the resort, and would give yourself a nice little cardio but no worries as the staff help in getting your luggage across. Excellent support staff - Dhiraj and Tara Bhai - extremely helpful and warm. Though we drove down in our car, we hired a car to get to Almora and the staff helped us with their local contacts and arranged our local conveyance. Food - tell your preference in advance - some recommended - pahadi chicken curry/ dhal. Also must try their paneer and bread pakoras - surprisingly very light and fluffy. All in all - worthy of a stay if you wanted a place away from the hustle bustle of typical tourist commercials spots that can get over crowded - and this fit our bill.

What a memorable stay at Almora! It is a beautiful studio apartment with all the necessary amenities opening to mountain views. Perfect for vacation: several day trip options from Almora, also for working from the mountains. Meals were delicious. Even got to enjoy Kumaoni specialities. Hosts Ravi ji and Meenakshi ji, their warm hospitality greatly exceeded expectations. They communicated & advised during every step of the journey, local sightseeing, cab booking, next places to travel, going above and beyond to make sure for a comfortable stay. Hope to return to this place again, maybe for a longer stay.

A great place. Just what we wanted. The cottage - is not very old. Yet it is built in local fashion with local materials but with all modern 'living amenities' as listed. In keeping with the mountain terrain it is built at 'levels. 'Full of knick knacks, a fire place & so on.... All this gives it a very cosy , yet rustic feel, very authentic & lovable. The cottage does not have a 'living room', but that is compensated by the large verandah overlooking the property. Grand views all day. the owners were present in their other house on the property. Very friendly yet not intrusive. One does not expect such help full caretakers in a airbnb. The caretaker cum househelp cum handyman Mr. Bobby Singh who is on hand 24/7 is a gem. he cleans, cooks, advises(if asked). Plus there is Mr. Anand Singh who takes care of the 'grounds' of the property, who helps in procuring groceries & stuff. Two people to help !!! Almost like a serviced resort . Wow! I booked for a week but added a second week. That says it all. Ramesh is an amazing host: very friendly, speaks good English, non-intrusive but always ready to help with anything you need. The home-made food is delicious. The kitchen has everything you need so you can also make your own food. On clear days, the views of the snowcapped Himalaya are mind-boggling. It's a walk to get there but once you do, you do not want to leave. It's a little outside Almora which adds to the peaceful atmosphere. I cannot recommend it enough and will definitely come back.
