Cabin holiday rentals in Bowden

Perfect for people who appreciate a great value, love nature and want to find some peace & quiet. You have the feeling of camping, but all the amenities of being at home and then some. Full kitchen, propane grill, tv w/dvds. The bed is wonderful. Many spots at the cabin to sit and observe nature and the river. Driveway is long, but was no challenge at all. There is a Wal Mart and some restaurants about 20 mins away. There is a water filter on the sink. Heated toilet seat. Bobs place is sparkling clean, and very well thought out. The effort truly shows. The only rules at Bob's are; relax and have fun. Already booked my next trip before we even left the first trip! All around, 100/10.

Loved the privacy and beautiful surroundings. It was the perfect quiet getaway from the city life. So relaxing and we truly wish we could gave stayed longer. The Orange Cat Cafe in Franklin was awesome and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The cabin was really nice with comfortable accommodations and everything you need. There is a road that runs in front of and behind the cabin that has quite a bit of traffic on the weekend as the road is an entrance to a park/campground and it was a holiday weekend. This was a benefit to us though as we love to hike and could walk to or drive within a couple of minutes to several really great trails! Having the heated in ground pool for my daughter was amazing and when we had some issues with Bees the owners handled it right away. This is definitely a cabin in the woods by the water so come prepared with bug repellant. We did venture out to some local wineries and a lavender farm/winery but would have been just as content to enjoy the cabin and the property! Overall we really enjoyed this place and would totally go back when we are visiting the Harrisonburg area.

My fiancé and I came for our anniversary weekend and had a wonderful time. We were curious to see how the last bit of drive would actually be, and we are definitely glad we brought a truck with 4WD. The hot tub wasn’t working which was a bummer but the host was very kind and quick to respond/help out and the view was unbeatable. Recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful, stay. Also recommend Showalter’s Orchard if you’re looking for something to do. Also great views and good hard cider!

The cabin was so lovely - even prettier than the pictures. The view from the back deck was beautiful! Beds were comfortable and cabin felt spacious. Rocky was so kind and responsive throughout!

I loved Shelley's cabin. It was perfect for the two of us and our two dogs. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bed was comfortable (including the pillows!), though we didn't use it I was impressed with the firewood being on the front porch with the ability to send payment by phone to pay for it as that is something that can always be frustrating to go and get when traveling sometimes. The hot tub was hot and relaxing although it was missing all the headrests haha. We took a tour of Trans Alleghany Lunatic Asylum on this trip but would consider coming back just to stay at this cabin for a weekend getaway! Thanks so much for everything!

I would highly recommend this property for a peaceful getaway weekend! The cabin itself is bright and beautiful and the host was incredibly responsive. Stargazing in the hot tub was absolutely the highlight!

We've stayed here multiple times, and each time and season has been enjoyable in its own way. Sitting riverside around the fire ring into evening is wonderful. There's so much to do outside that it's easy to forget how lovely a space the cabin is...you're right in the middle of a town but elevated so it's possible to have privacy to hang out on the porch and read or watch the geese and ducks float by. It's been years now, and this cabin is still our favorite getaway spot.

Sereda’s cabin exceeded our expectations. It was a little gem in the woods where we relaxed on the veranda, BBQ’d and sat round the camp fire outside. Great places to visit nearby. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely beautiful place! Loved every second of it! Very peaceful! Perfect for getting away from the everyday hustle! It was exactly what we needed!

What an absolute gem! Rebecca’s cabin had every single thing you could want or need for a stay. The decor was eccentric and fun! Every nook was stocked with games dvds records and cozy blankets. The backyard felt like a dream! We had so much fun exploring the creeks for rocks and the 2 minute walk to the river for a quick dip was perfection. 10/10 !!!

we enjoyed our stay. the cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, is comfortable, clean and well maintained. there are some nice areas to explore closeby, however, be mindful that you will need to drive.

This rustic, cozy cabin was the perfect spot for an impromptu weekend in the mountains for our family. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipt. It was cold outside but heating worked well! So appreciated the little conveniences provided, like dishwasher and laundry soap, paper towels & clear, easy checkout instructions. Great location in easy drive to Davis main street and skiing. Laura was a super responsive host. Would def return!

Our stay was delightful, the cabin was beautiful, and Shaleen was incredibly flexible and responsive when we were hit with inclement weather. We hope to be back soon!

Emma & Michael were gracious hosts. We got a few minutes to speak to each during our stay. They were both so friendly. Check in was easy as can be and at our convience. The cabin had everything we needed. Coffee and huge selection of teas made us very happy. Waking up to horses and chickens outside was absolutely wonderful. We did not hear the chickens at all from inside, so don’t be concerned about noise. Fresh eggs were delicious (a first for us). We were there for a short, but big storm (it was great) and the owners got stuck in town. Apparently, their neighbors asked if they should check in on us. That is community and we loved it!!! Emma did message us during the storm to make sure we were good. Sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee watching the sunset was serene and amazing. We truly wish we had the time to stay for a longer period. Highly, highly recommend this rental property. You will not be disappointed.

They give very clear instructions on how to get here, because it is a bit complicated, but with their help we had no problem. The area is very pretty and the cabin has everything you could want. The only difficulty we had was were no able to make phone calls, we were able to get enough of a connection at snowshoe, but be aware you will be cutoff from almost all internet uses. Outside of that we loved using the fire pit and grill every night, and we look towards our next visit!

What a wonderful place! Misty did a phenomenal job and the pictures definitely don't do it justice. There were so many little nice touches she left, from extra toiletries, to blankets, to snacks. It's a quiet and relaxing location with great proximity to lots of outdoor activities. Would definitely stay again.

This spot is very far off the road. We wish we would have stayed longer. We brought so many things that were already provided, we could have packed much lighter. Pansy went above and beyond, the place was even decorated for the holiday. I wish we could have enjoyed the provided treats. Even though the weather was quite cold and snowed we stayed warm without any issues. Can't wait to get back to see Dolly Sods

We had a wonderful time at the cottage with our kids and dogs. Loved the sunsets/hikes on the property/amenities! Will definitely book again!

Despite renting this cabin in the dead of winter, leading to frozen pipes and being buried in snow, this stay was just what I needed to get away for a little while with my dog. Xavier notified me in advance of the pipes and there being no water, but made it work by providing ample drinking and flushing water. The mini split heater and an electric heater kept the cabin comfortable, but the wood stove cabin probably would have been more ideal in this weather. The family who lives near the property was extremely attentive to my needs and made me feel welcomed and safe. Bonus points for adorable goats, chickens, and cats on the property. I hope to come back in better weather to enjoy the trail and lake.

It was out second stay and we will back next year. Very private!
