Cottage holiday rentals in Cheshire West and Chester

Great house in a great location! We all had a great stay at Fairvale house. The only problem we had was that the downstairs flooring was extremely slippery to the point the dogs couldn’t walk on it and people were slipping over which is quite dangerous especially with dogs and young children. Apart from that everything was great.

Just a little getaway after Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and a must say what a gem of a place. Calm and peaceful surroundings with all the amenities you need inside the cottage, Cosy, Clean and beautiful, everything you need for a few days away to take your mind off things. The hot tub is a brilliant place after a long day to chill, relax and take your mind off everything that is going on. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful little place in the not too distant future. 👍

What a lovely cottage, and a great host. We chose this cottage because of the quiet location and the hot tub to chill out in, and we were not disappointed. It’s close enough to Chester to access the shops and restaurants, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Lots of walks close by, a nice little village shop and local pub. What more could you ask for. The cottage itself is immaculately presented, very tastefully furnished and has a nice blend of traditional and modern. Looking forward to returning.

Beautiful cottage, immaculately clean and well-presented. Hot tub and log burner were the highlights - lovely, relaxing features! The living area is very big which is great but is difficult to heat, it was very cold unless the heating was on and the log burner in full fire (February so cold outside!) I’m sure it would be warmer in the summer but could have done with some doors to contain the heat! Otherwise, a wonderful stay, thank you!

We had a lovely stay at the Drift House! The house was absolutely beautiful, in a lovely area with lots of nice walks and pubs nearby. Nicola was so helpful and quick to respond, it was very much appreciated! Would definitely recommend and absolutely love to stay again if we were ever interested in coming back to the area. Lovely little cottage! Exactly as described. Small but has everything that you need. We did need plenty of wood for the hot tub, we brought two big bags of our own so we had enough for 2 nights. First night took a few hours to heat (as it says in the book) but easy enough to do if you follow the instructions in the book which are very clear! Second day it heated up much quicker as we put the lid on right after we finished the night before and then got it started again first thing next morning. Bathroom is small but spotlessly clean! Kitchen very well equipped and they even left us lots of ice in the freezer, bonus! Tarvin high street is 20-30 min walk away (depending on your pace) where we had a lovely meal in Cornichon bistro. All in all a lovely little place to stay 😊

If you would like to get away someplace private and peaceful and just to relax I couldn’t recommend this more! It’s a lovely place and just amazing. Plenty to do nearby and just a great time!

Very comfortable cottage in an ideal location for exploring the area. Trish was an excellent host.

Lovely stay for 3 adults and a dog. Really handy for the woodland walk we had arranged at Park in the Past at Hope. Open plan living area worked well for us with plenty of space for our dog crate. Comfortable beds. Clean and tidy with everything we needed in the kitchen. Menna met us on arrival and was very welcoming. Lots of information provided about local shops and restaurants. We went to the Golden Lion in Rossett and the Pent y Ochainn in Gresford, both were excellent. Good dog walking at Marford Quarry. Hope to return soon.

A lovely place to stay for me and my husband, and my sister's family of four. The cottage was roomy and welcoming, a great size for our group, very clean, nicely decorated, and lovely and warm. It's a stone's throw from Marbury Country Park, which was a great place to walk our dog. The TV was huge, as was the downstairs bathroom, which looked straight out of a boutique hotel. Excellent value for our two-night stay and great communication from the owner, Evangeline.

Diane is an amazing host and this Airbnb is truly a gem. The location is beautiful, quiet and the views from the cottage our over the fields are amazing. The cottage is luxurious spacious and incredibly well equipped. The kitchen had everything we could want including a proper espresso machine. The local towns are good and have plenty of restaurants and shops, our host also shared several amazing local dog walks with us.

Gamul place is right in the heart of the city, it is tucked away off the high road and quiet but a quick walk from restaurants, bars, shops and the cathedral. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, extra special touches such as milk, tea, coffee and fruit really made our stay wonderful. All of the restaurants that Rod suggested were fabulous- I would most definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Pinfold Barn! This beautifully restored barn perfectly combines historic charm with modern comfort. The barn is impeccably clean and well-equipped, with a cozy lounge, and thoughtful extras like books and family games. The farmhouse kitchen and three bathrooms, made it the perfect choice for our family. The location is peaceful yet convenient, with stunning views of the surrounding fields and easy access to Nantwich and nearby attractions. On top of all this, the host, Ali, was absolutely wonderful—welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. It’s the ideal countryside retreat for relaxation and quality time with family or friends. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Pinfold Barn for a truly special getaway!

Lovely place, Coedpoeth really nice. Very convenient for Wrexham and Chester yet step outside and you’re in a lovely woodland valley. Good local shops for supplies. Very quiet at nice with lovely views.

This is our 2nd stay at Little Cobbes and we enjoyed it as much as our first visit. The space is compact but has everything you need for a short or longer stay at this beautiful cottage. Ann and Dave have thought out every detail in ensuring your stay is a positive and enjoyable one. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to major roadways and to walking trails from the cottage. We will be back.

Kate and Marc were the perfect hosts! From the moment I saw Kate, I felt an instant warmth – a reflection of the care and love poured into every corner of their beautiful home. The pictures simply don't do this gem in Chester justice – full of charm, character, and the kind of warmth that makes you feel at home from the moment you step through the door. We stayed here to celebrate my mother's birthday, with four generations gathered under one roof. It was the perfect setting to laugh, relax, and create precious memories for our family memory bank. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and I honestly can't fault a single thing. Thank you, Kate and Marc, for making our special celebration even more memorable. We will 100% be back!

Great house for exploring the zoo and aquarium and close to the park and ride for Chester. Has an electric charger which whilst expensive was a very convenient addition. Host was very responsive and helpful.
