Chalet holiday rentals in North Island

We only stayed one night but Margaret’s place was, to put it simply, excellent. We have no doubt that if we do visit Mangawhai Heads again we will certainly stay here if it’s available. It’s peaceful, quiet with wonderful views out to the sea, it also has a lovely walk at the end of the road, a bit steep up and down but the views are sensational.

Absolutely loved the place! Amazing house with everything you can even think of. Stunning view on the vulcano and quite surrounding. Restaurants and shops nearby. The host is very friendly, respond really quick and helped us immediately with staying longer. Really appreciated! Would def recommend this house and come back again!

We stayed at Kate's for four weeks. It quickly felt like home. Kate was always quick to respond to enquires. She could solve a problem quicker than a blink of the eye! The chalet was exactly as described. It was very well furnished with everything you could need. The kitchen was very well equipped. Internet was excellent. We had two cold wet days and found out that the fireplace is a high efficiency insert. There was lots of dry firewood and kindling available. We were able to walk to the grocery store and restaurants in about 15 minutes. We are seniors. We had a lot of opportunities for walks, hikes and activities. We were impressed by all the mountain bikers and the services that the community offered in their support. There was always a day trip for us to look forward to. Highly recommended!

We stayed in the retreat, it is an individual building secluded from other buildings with the bush and a lake on one side and deep valleys in front. The building consists of two rooms bed and kitchen, with a very well equipped modern separate bathroom. The entire front is glass, with a large deck over looking the green hills and valleys. Capped off with a view of the ocean , Waipu cove and the Hen and chicken Islands. There is an out door bath tub recessed into a step down deck. Great way to relax at sunset with a beverage. The elevation and distance from any neighbors provides all the privacy and freedom you could desire. Mark was an excellent host invited us for drinks and a games night, at his well equipped house/club house. We had more fun than we have had in a long time. Thankyou so much Mark

Our family had a wonderful stay in Ohakune and the hot tub and games room really made this place a game changer for our stay. The house was tidy and easy to check in. There are little cards throughout the place with clear instructions on how to use the fire, spa and information about check out which were fantastic and made the process super easy. beautiful spot to stay. amazing view of Oceans Beach. Kathryn was very welcoming and greeted us on arrival. Private, comfortable bed, gorgeous view of the Forrest from bathroom, absolutely lovely spot to stay. highly recommend,

Overall, my stay was above my expectations, mostly because in my opinion the view and the house are better than on the pictures published in the ad, which is quite unusual indeed. The house was spotless. The kitchen was very well equipped (fyi: there is no hotplates but you can find a big and new electrical pan that perfectly does the job). The decoration was refined. For those like me who are sensitive to day light in the morning, bring your sleep mask because the curtains do not totally stop the light. Lastly, Martin and Mary were very friendly and accommodating (we could get a late check out).

Great hosts, very clear instructions and Heidi and shame gave us a very nice breakfast which was very nice. The place itself was very clean and tidy. Had a nice car park. Highly recommend!!

Superb and stylish place to stay with friendly hosts. Very well equipped and generous breakfast provisions. We really enjoyed our stay.
