Cottage holiday rentals in North Island

Such a clean new modern home, we greatly appreciated the two bathrooms too! Definitely would recommend.

We can't speak highly enough about the place. It's a little haven where the atmosphere and surroundings almost force you to kick back and forget about [almost] everything and just enjoy. The surrounding areas compliment the accommodations, and the local people reflect the laid-back approach to life. With pristine beaches, great food from the local cafes and restaurants through to the weekend markets there is something for everyone here.

this place was great. we loved the views, the spa, comfy bed, nice big shower. very clean, everything we expected. when someone is staying at the other property (the black building seen in one of the listing pics) we kinda lost the sense of complete privacy outside, but both dwellings are oriented to take in the amazing views and the reality is we never actually saw anyone from the other property. it had a great sense of feeling away from it all while being less than 90 mins from Akl city. beautiful starry sky at night. we would happily stay again!

Rachel’s place was charming and clean, peaceful and comfortable. As my husband and I hopped from one activity to another all over Rotorua, it became our home away from home, a place we could relax and recharge. The view of the lake from the living room and bedroom was picture perfect, and getting to see the sheep and chicken added even more to the tranquility. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast provided upon arrival. Our only regret was not being able to stay here longer.

A beautiful place to stay. Quiet and peaceful, but not far from Oneroa. Super responsive hosts and we would happily stay here again.

Another great stay, always our go to favorite. A great place to relax and unwind with a great cedar hot tub with relaxing bush views and an amazing night sky.

Paul's place was great. Well equipped with all amenities you need. Responsive host. Very clean and tidy and in a peaceful setting. Would need a car though to get to as out of central Napier but easy instructions provided. Very responsive host.

This beautiful cottage is an absolute gem of a find and far more beautiful than the pictures. Set in a very picturesque vineyard with incredible views of the mountains and surrounded by incredible rose bushes - I don’t know what else you could wish for. We felt right at home in the cottage which was well equipped and privately tucked away from the main house. We were told to help ourselves from the lemon and orange trees which we did. Bed and linen are extremely comfortable and cosy with a lovely view from the bed out onto the vineyard with the mountain in the background. The toilet is in an odd location but definitely not a dealbreaker - you can access it from the kitchen without leaving the cottage. Outside BBQ was a huge plus. We would return to this slice of paradise in a heartbeat, good for the soul!

Gorgeous home for the evening. So lovely in fact we wished we had stayed for longer. Homely, spacious and well kept. The lovely little extra touches including the drink selection made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We ended up taking the recommendation of the first restaurant in the home's instruction guide - Mole and Chicken (a gentle wander down the hill) and it turned out to be my favourite meal of our trip so far. A gorgeous little pub. Thank you again for the stay!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Within 10 minutes of arriving we were sitting on the front patio enjoying the beautiful view. We had a great stay !

A lovely little cottage; close to beautiful Pohara beach, with great access to Takaka and all the surrounding attractions of Golden Bay. Spotlessly clean with a relaxed vibe, the cottage had everything we needed during our stay. Being pet friendly meant our two dogs could join in the adventure; a real bonus. Thanks for hosting us.

Simon and Sue’s place was perfect for a night in Ohakune on our roadtrip down the South Island. Clean, comfortable, thoughtful amenities, conveniently located. Our kids especially enjoyed running to the school across the road to play on the epic playground!

My wife and I, daughter and son-in-law -along with their little dog- spent three nights at Thomas and Winnie's place and were very happy with our stay. The space was easy to settle into, with three large bedrooms to choose from and a comfortable living area. The kitchen was well set-up/appointed, and even though the oven wasn't working, there were easy work arounds available (Cooktop, Inverter/Microwave, BBQ) so cooking was a breeze. The area is FABULOUS! Close to wineries, the Te Mata hills, less then 10 minutes to Havelock North, and a wonderful riverside walk (which the dog adored) just down the road. Thomas and Winnie were extremely easy to communicate with, and Thomas even came by and gave us a large bag of delicious apples from their orchard. All in all, a great stay...thanks so much W & T.

We were after a few days of rest and relaxation in beautiful surrounds and this place certainly delivered. The home was clean, neat and tidy with amazing views, quiet and an easy drive into town. The sunsets from the deck were also stunning. Noel and Molly (as well as Laurie-Ann) provided helpful information regarding check as well as responding promptly to a few questions we had. Highly recommend if you are after a few days of tranquility

I regret that we had just one night there during our travelling around NZ. The place is beautiful and Wendy is a nice host

We adored our stay! The cottage was pristine. The location is great. It is right across a quiet stretch of beach and walking distance from a great playground. It is very close to the airport but recent upgrades meant we couldn't hear the planes from inside the house. Our little one was obsessed with watching the planes take off. What really set this place apart was how thoughtful and kind the hosts were. We have a baby and toddler and the hosts brought toys for the kids to play with. The kids had the best time!

Fantastic overnight overnight stay on a quick trip to Waiheke walking distance to shops, restaurants , and Oneroa beach if you didn’t have a car. Maria is a great host, highly recommend

A lovely little slice of Paradise. This was such a peaceful place to stay with the gardens, lake, birdlife, farm animals... just a beautiful, peaceful surrounding, yet the town, shops, restaurants/cafes and supermarkets are just 5-minutes down the road. Our host, Sharon, was super supportive and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay!! I would highly recommend, and we hope to be back to stay. Thanks, Michele and Ian

Stunning location, very private, beautiful gardens surrounding the cottage. Host is lovely, responsive and lives on the main property. There is a track on the property that we didn’t get to walk but would recommend others try as it sounds lovely.

Second stay at this Bach and just as restorative as remembered. Secluded, private, peaceful, surrounded by nature and farm life. The house is super clean and has everything you need, and if you forget anything its only a 10min drive to Featherstone. Bed is comfortable with gorgeous linen. Claire is so lovely and was really responsive with any questions we had. Can't wait to return
